N. Korea approves nuclear
strike on United States

Agence France-Presse, by Jung Ha-Won

SEOUL — North Korea dramatically escalated its warlike rhetoric on Thursday, warning that it had authorised plans for nuclear strikes on targets in the United States. "The moment of explosion is approaching fast," the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out "today or tomorrow". Pyongyang´s latest pronouncement came as Washington scrambled to reinforce its Pacific missile defences, preparing to send ground-based interceptors to Guam and dispatching two Aegis class destroyers to the region. Tension was also high on the North´s heavily-fortified border with South Korea,

At this point, if we had a serious leader in Washington, we´d hit the Little Boy Who Would Be Dictator now with a pre-emptive strike and be done with him. Unfortunately, we´re saddled with Barry the Dithering and Incompetent, so I guess we´ll have to suffer a blow before the grown-ups finally kick him to the curb and take some decisive action.

Well, the time for this to have been fixed was long ago, certainly long before we were faced with the threat of a nuclear attack. So I can only partly blame BHO. However, I do blame him too. Clinton and Bush also kicked the can down the road. Clinton worse so than Bush but nonetheless here we are. Now what can BHO do except make ready the battle stations. There is insufficient information to conclude he is doing nothing. You veterans all know we are putting assets on line, with eyes and ears in the sky and under the surface transmitting vital info. While we ready we can only wait and see.

That little fat NK dumpling never HAD it to begin with.
I DO think Americans will not tolerate another "boots on the ground" action.
So, Daisy Cutters will have to suffice, and Obama has to learn that war means protecting our safety, and collateral damage to the enemy is the natural effect of war declared on us. Time to end this garbage between North and South Korea.
Time to liberate the poor souls in N Korea..way past time.

possibility #1: little boy has a death wish and believes his own propaganda, gambling that O will do nothing meaningful

possibility #2: China and Russia are pushing him along behind the scenes. China will seize the islands that they have been demanding while we are thus occupied. Both will benefit from a US military disaster

possibility #3: little boy will have his Iranian allies open a second front in the Middle East to spread our military and both he and Iran will cruise to victory.

They have been lying to us, the proof is in the article. Not that I am surprised, but this is the first public admission that I have seen that "they have nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them".

We can be suspicious all we want, but until our government verifies it, all it is is suspicion. Now, they have verified it. They knew all along, but are only responding now.

Obama, and only Obama, will be responsible for any outcome from this. They knew, they lulled us into a false sense of complacency by denying he had capability.

Now, they admit he has capability, and no one blinks. What?!

I say again, they ADMIT (Hagel) NK has capability, and no one blinks. Is anyone awake?

"They have nuclear capacity now, they have missile delivery capacity now," Hagel
said after a strategy speech at the National Defense University. "We take those threats
seriously, we have to take those threats seriously."

The first public admission from this administration NK has the capability. Is no one reading the article, or is everyone lulled by the administrations´ attempts to downplay the seriousness?

For those who don´t know, it is normal Cold War Commie SOP to threaten war when they are doing something else really bad, like bringing nuclear weapons online.
It has nothing to do with the little fat boy´s ego.
Notice that the Chinese are moving troops up to their border with NK, a la 1950. The Chinese fully approve of what the Norks are doing. NK is their surrogate to twit us and drain off hundreds of billions of our dollars in defending SK.

Back in the Cold War era, there were B52 bombers loaded with nuclear weapons on permanent flight patterns circling high above the sky ready at a moments notice in case of outbreak of war. There should be nuclear armed B52 s flying over the Korean Peninsula now to instantaneously attack North Korean missile and artillery sites as well as command and control centers.

I am fully expecting that NK is going to be the beginning.

For those willing to see, all the indications are that the big one is coming.

I cannot be the only one who sees that time is collapsing, or at least appears to be so. By that I mean things are happening faster. I do not mean that this is due to the internet.
All I can say is the time is so close, I am at once fearful, but hopeful. What else can save us now? We have so rapidly entered into unchartered waters. God help us all. Empires, Cultures, perhaps even more beyond our ken, have imagined that they too have a better understanding of the human condition. They are now only speculation. Will the glory of the USA become a myth such as Atlantis?

From what I have read, if North Korea attacks
South Korea it could be by using a nuclear mine of some sort. NK doesn´t really have the missile capability or a nuclear warhead small enough to fit on a rocket. But they could tunnel underground inside South Korean territory and set off a nuke under some large city. I have heard of SK finding North Korean tunnels in the past. On the other hand, now we know how Israel must feel when Iran threatens to annhilate them daily. In fact, this warlike rhetoric sounds almost exactly like the same kind of threats Iran uses against Israel daily and we know Iran and NK are working together against the U.S.

Jimmah Carter´s disasterous presidency just keeps coming back to bite us. The entire radical Muslim problem can be laid at his feet and he was the one who brokered the deal with the Norks for Clinton which let them make nuclear materials "for energy purposes only". He even saw to it that we helped fund it for them. I hope Ted Kennedy is saving a seat for him - he has earned it.

My apologies, but this just drives me nutso. Memo to Jung Ha-Won, the editor(s) of Agence France-Presse, and anyone else who might care that there is a right way and a wrong way to write about the US Military. There is a difference between a regiment and a battalion, between a squadron and a wing. Our military is built upon proper communications and that necessarily entails referring to things in the proper way.
There is NO SUCH THING as an "Aegis class" anything in the way of US Navy ships. Not a cruiser, not a destroyer, not an anything.
Ships classes are named after the first ship of the class to be launched. Cruisers are currently Ticonderoga class, and destroyers are currently Arleigh Burke class.
Aegis is a highly agile fire control and target tracking system, with which each ship of each of those classes is equipped.

It seems the sex molesters over at Homeland insecurity have bought up enough bullets to all commit suicide. Why is it that our missile defense ships have been berthed in some harbors here, and now have to race over to Guam to defend us against the chief wee man in N. Korea.

Congressman Hank Johnson stated today that all those ships and troops are going to tip Guam up-side-down. I also understand that our brave talkative president has traveled to the center of Russia to play golf and to hide inside of a converted underground commune. I also heard that our former SOS Hillary now says she has never heard of a place called North Korea and Jon Carry has seconded that. If they do send something our way some conservative in the Pentagon will make N. Korea a glass field. He will have to because there won´t be anyone else around to give the orders.

Just ahead of a possible Hillary run for the presidency, the Clinton Library released a new load of documents from President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House. One of those documents attempts to explain Hillary´s "vast right-wing conspiracy" claim in which the Clinton administration accused Republican staffers of colluding with "extremists" on the Internet to hurt the Clintons. On January 27, 1998, Hillary Clinton appeared on NBC´s Today Show. During her interview with Matt Lauer, she claimed that a "vast right-wing conspiracy" had been trying to destroy her husband "since the day he announced for president." That interview drew

As the nation awaits Hillary Clinton´s decision of whether or not she will run for president in 2016, a cache of 7,500 pages of newly released documents from Bill Clinton´s years in the White House show some familiar political themes. One revelation is that Bill Clinton worried that a massive new healthcare scheme would cause Americans to lose their insurance. In 1993, the President allowed his wife, first lady Hillary Clinton, to become the face of an Obamacare-like takeover of the nation´s healthcare system. The plan was sarcastically dubbed Hillarycare. But as these internal documents show, in what is now a

Could the 2016 presidential election turn into a contest between a Bush and a Clinton? Political debate in America last week revolved around whether or not Jeb Bush, Florida´s former governor who is son or brother to two former US presidents – both named George – would jump into the 2016 battle for the Republican presidential nomination. For a nation that fought a war for independence from the hereditary power of the British Crown, in the person of another fellow named George, the concept of nominating a third Bush to run for the White House against a second Clinton (the former

"I´m over here!" shouts Kate Humble, and she of Springwatch and Lambing Live gambols towards me, closing the gate on a field of anxious goats and their Disney-cute babies. She´s carrying a bucket. "I was just about to muck out," she announces, and I´m reminded this is a working farm in the Wye Valley and in no way a TV set. The photographer has already done his work and gone. Apparently Humble had no idea he was coming. It is hard to think of another TV person on the planet for whom an impromptu photoshoot while wearing a well-loved fleece and

Alert shoppers are accustomed to watching food prices go up and down. But a string of forces—from droughts to diseases—is raising the cost of a trip to the grocery store at a rapid clip. And it looks like it will be a while before the price pressure eases. Some of that pressure is coming from California—the source of roughly half the nation´s fruits and vegetables—where a long-running drought is forcing farmers and ranchers to cut production. After the driest year on record, large sections of farmland are expected to lay fallow this year as the Golden State copes with an ongoing water

Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) on Friday called for a Senate hearing into the dispute between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over cattle grazing. Heller described as "patriots" the people who came armed to Bundy’s ranch after the BLM began to seize his cattle for refusing to pay grazing fees and fines that now total more than $1 million. Heller debated the ranch standoff on a Nevada television station with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who has called the armed Bundy supporters “domestic terrorists.” "What senator Reid may call domestic terrorists, I call patriots," Heller said.

If expanding the guest list to include Michelle Obama at graduation for high school students in the Kansas capital city means fewer seats for friends and family, some students and their parents would prefer the first lady not attend. A furor over what the Topeka school district considers an honor has erupted after plans were announced for Obama to address a combined graduation ceremony for five area high schools next month an 8,000-seat arena. For some, it was the prospect of a tight limit on the number of seats allotted to each graduate. For others, it was the notion that Obama´s speech,

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

That was quite a victory dance President Obama did Thursday while claiming Obamacare is “working” because eight million people have now supposedly signed up for the health care program. He even indulged in some less-than-subtle mockery of Republicans - and by extension the majority of Americans who have disapproved of Obamacare since before it became law. "The repeal debate is and should be over,” Obama said, taking a dig at Republicans who are “going through, you know, the stages of grief … anger and denial and all that stuff …” But a president who is viewed by most Americans as less

WASHINGTON--Rushing to an afternoon vote last month, Sen. Ted Cruz hopped the underground tram to the U.S. Capitol from his office across the street. The Texan planted his black ostrich cowboy boots in the middle of the small subway car without getting so much as a nod from the other senators--Republican or Democrat--amiably chatting or huddled in their seats. Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan" before he became president, "but the people loved him." For the 43-year-old Republican, the Reagan name illuminates his political life´s

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter — who used her talk show platform in the last presidential election cycle to campaign hard for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — has taken up the mantra once again, calling on Republicans to give the failed White House bidder another shot in 2016. She made the suggestion during a discussion on Sean Hannity’s radio show while speaking of her new book, “Never Trust a Liberal Over 3-Especially a Republican.” Ms. Coulter also addressed the question of Mr. Romney’s shortcomings by saying that his 2012 loss wasn’t entirely his fault. “I think too much blame, not only in this

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

The Clintons had a busy night of celebrations after Chelsea announced she and husband Marc Mezvinsky are expecting a baby. Bill joined “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey at the Revlon Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall Thursday, joking of Spacey’s Machiavellian character, “When I was president people accused me of murder all the time, made a show of investigating. Spacey’s president for 15 minutes and he gets away with murder.” Spacey, who sang during the event with Sting, Stephen Stills and James Taylor, also showed off his Johnny Carson impression, taking a swipe at the coverage of Flight
