We´re Doomed, Send Money Fast!
American Thinker, by Clarice Feldman

Original Article

Posted By:steveW, 3/31/2013 4:30:46 AM

It´s a perennial favorite of scammers to claim we face pending doom that can be averted only if we quickly send them more money or do what they want us to. From The Music Man´s "Ya Got Trouble" to the emails purporting to be from family members who´ve been robbed or imprisoned overseas, the game is a constant money maker for the con men who employ it. Count President Obama as one of the masters of the art of diverting attention from facts, crying doom and grabbing yet more money from our pockets to enrich his buddies

Comments:
It sure would help further the cause of exposing the "green" agenda for the ill-intended fraud it is, if our intrepid GOP representatives would stop treating it as a well-intended, concerned effort to "save the planet" and expose it for the ill-intended fraud it is. Greens, including Dear Leader, are conning people on purpose to expand government control, and until the immorality of that is exposed, they are home free and the hoax will continue.

The Must Read note characterizes this long article about the decades old con of stealing hundreds of billions to fight imaginary global warming as a “Neo-Nigerian scam act”...Nigeria is a major oil producer, quite interested in continuing to supply the US 1 of every 6 barrels of crude we import so if you want to link the global warming scam to a country, find one that has no oil and is threatened by the billions the world is spending daily to buy it from Middle Eastern countries and that ain’t Nigeria.

The article centers on policies shaped by Bob Perciasepe, who has been at his chicken-little game a long time, and is not a Nigerian...he’s Acting EPA Administrator, having been its #2, Deputy Administrator, for this entire Administration...he was a Clinton appointee at EPA after years of environmental tinkering in Maryland government. During the Bush years he ran the National Audubon Society. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Perciasepe

Oh, Nigeria also happens to be too busy leading the 8,000 African troops in the forgotten battle against Al Qaeda in Mali to focus on this kinda scam...They´ll be there long after the French leave.

junior has never met a crisis that he didn´t like. He has faced crisis after crisis from the first moment he entered the Oval Office. The only way to a solution is throw more money at it....immediately. Then we hop on to the next crisis, and once again...solves it his way- always the wrong way. Anybody can address a crisis, just not everybody can address it properly. Immigration, gun control, state´s rights--anyone?

Unfortunately, United Way, American Cancer Society, ASPCA, AARP, March of Dimes and a host of others have fallen into this category, where a disproportionate percentage of the money from well-meaning people goes into the pockets of overpaid management. These are some of the oldest.

If (or when) we form another federal agency the mission statement must include specific goals. When those goals are reached the agencies job is considered done and disbanded. I can think of two which would be gone if they had been formed this way; 1). The EPA, their job was done a long time ago. 2). The Department of Education, because it has made things worse then before it was founded.

Poster #4, you don´t need a degree in physics, all you need is a good dose of common sense.

As usual, Clarice paints a very clear picture of what all of this fearmongering is about. Money. When one takes the time to consider, you will come to understand that just about all of this fearmongering is finging a way to get some sort of government grant for some scientist to study some perceived danger. And many times, said scientist is connected to some large university that likes to make a big deal out of how much grant money they have, etc.

The bottom line is one that Clarice points out very clearly. None of this is ever intended to solve any problem. It´s only meant to keep the money spigot flowing.

Much of the shock following the removal of Brendan Eich from the position of Mozilla CEO came from the realization that, in a manner of speaking, America was now at war. True it’s a culture war, not a physical conflict. But if you were waiting for the moment when the Cold Civil War actually begins, this might be it. Not that anyone should have been taken aback. After all, Larry Summers was sacked as president of Harvard following his criticism of Cornell West’s rap album and as a result of a 2005 speech in which he suggested that the under-representation

One of the sillier effusions of pop political correctness is the attempt to bully the idea of female beauty out of the culture. Ceaseless attacks on Barbie dolls for giving girls unrealistic expectations (though, strange to say, Superman doesn’t do that to boys), or virtuous but likely ineffective campaigns to sell underwear with overweight models, not to mention the endless feminist maundering on the subject — it all seems part of yet another wearisome leftist attempt to change basic reality through thuggery, censorship and noisy protest. President Obama is using Pope Francis to foster wealth redistribution ideas in his speeches on the importance of reducing the gap between rich and poor. Now that the President’s message of “Hope and Change” has drastically soured over his last few years in office, Obama is hoping the popular pontiff’s vitality will rub off on him. Michael Peppard, a professor of politics and the papacy at Fordham University, posits, "I think Obama probably wants to tap into some of the energy, and tap into some of it for his own message." It is a tactic as old as argument itself. The person seeking to accomplish something he knows to be dishonest and unjust sets the parameters of the argument, and invites his opponent to debate the predetermined memes. If the debater does not first disown the false premise, and reset the terms, he has effectively lost from the outset. In the case of ObamaCare, the premise is that our healthcare system was irretrievably "broken." Congress had to step in and "fix" healthcare. Of course, this was a ruse for the easy marks. No one but the utter simpletons among us believes

Charles Krauthammer has come to my rescue. You see, I’ve been on the receiving end of some spirited reaction since asserting in last weekend’s column that what we commonly call the Republican establishment — i.e., not all individual Republicans but GOP leadership — “is more sympathetic to Obama’s case for the welfare state than to the Tea Party’s case for limited government and individual liberty.” The statement may have been provocative in the sense of expressing a truth that people on the political Right prefer not to talk about. But it was not controversial because it is indisputably true.

After the latest dismal performance by congressional Republicans in their battle (a generous description) with the president and his minions over the budget and ObamaCare, it´s time to ask, "Why the Republican Party?" From Jed Babbin, writing for American Spectator: Staggering, without direction, not quite dead and in search of brains, the Republican Party is giving a really good performance as the Zombie Party. According to the media´s current narrative, it has to rid itself of the Tea Party´s influence or die. The saddest of facts is that the media narrative is shared by many establishment Republicans.

Let’s take a step back and recognize the breadth and width of the Obama administration’s assault on the US economy. We tend to divide ourselves along economic lines, upper, middle and lower or working class. It’s clear that Barack Obama has a plan for all three levels. If you’re a top earner, in his mind you’ve “made enough money” and should pay more in taxes. That’s his plan for the wealthy: Pay more taxes. This will take some money out of investments and companies and send it to the government. Some jobs will be either lost or aborted.

As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent.
