A WTHR-TV Indianapolis investigative report exposes a fraudulent scheme wherein the IRS is sending $4.2 billion per year to illegal immigrants as an "additional child tax credit" for children who don´t even live in the U.S. Further, the IRS and Congress have been ignoring the scheme for years. The Inspector General´s office has repeatedly identified the problem in audit after audit. The IG, Russell George says, "The magnitude of the problem has grown exponentially," but the IRS is doing nothing to stop it. "It´s so easy it´s ridiculous," the tax preparer whistleblower
Having spent some time at IRS working last year, I learned one of the biggest areas of fraud are returns from what our Democrat friends call (1) undocumented immigrants or (2) future Democrat voters.
These "guests" file returns to obtain the refunds of taxes withheld and then take advantage of nearly-unlimited child credits and earned income tax credits for numerous "relatives" conveniently living outside of the USA, where it is difficult to confirm their relationship, existance or even how many other returns "claim" those exemptions.
Easy way ... you must be living in USA with a valid SSN or identification to get those credits. But ain´t gonna happen in Dear Leader(US)´s America.
The bigger the government the stupider the mistakes! Case in point. Too many bureaucrats deciding what is best.
20/20 or NBC´s new show had a segment on the newest identity theft. Former crack dealers filing fraudulent returns using real names, SSNs, and birth dates to the tune of $5 billion a year. As you can imagine this creates huge problems for the real filers/citizens with little help from the IRS.
Some spokeswoman was soooooo sorry, but they´re working on it! Fire her As$ today and get someone who will work the problem and fix it!

Whoever at the IRS that certifies these payments as proper for payment is committing a criminal act.
WTHR has done other in depth investigations on this subject:

IRS hit with audit for mismanagement and fraud (Video)
"A four-month Eyewitness News investigation documented how many illegal immigrants use ITINs to get tax credits and refunds they´re not entitled to. WTHR also exposed how millions of undocumented workers get their ITIN applications approved using phony documents."
It depends on how you look at this, are they illegal aliens who are receiving fraudulent IRS payouts, or are they future liberal Democrat voters to who some money is being redistributed so that they can live a better life?
That gives you the answer as to why the Democrats, and a lot of go along to get along Republicans who are really the Democrat´s assistants in Congress, turn a blind eye to bogus schemes like this.
More than you, your family, everyone you know, and everyone they know will pay in income taxes in your and their entire lifetimes thrown down the rat hole in just one year. And it goes on year after year after year.
#13. Good question. It does go back to what we discuss here everyday. As long as our party is satisfied having longtime incumbent Capitol Hill pols who absolutely refuse to stand up and fight it, we are to blame. Until that changes, with or without Obama in the WH, it will NOT ever be stopped.
I worked at H&R Block for several years. The talk was always of new TV´s, tattoos and the newest Nikes. The child credit and unearned income never went for bills or God forbid maybe headed for a savings account. We are being fleeced and of course we are racist because are money is being thrown at these people.
Brazillions of U.S. tax dollars given knowingly to illegals?
Sounds like Bammy found the perfect scheme to enrich his relatives who are here against the law... they loot the Treasury and hide billions of dollars overseas for the Bamster so once he wears out his welcome, he can maintain the lifestyle in exile.
The author and I reside in the same state. I know the gentleman. He is spot on. Some few years ago I had the opportunity to prosecute a similar scam run out of the Colorado Laughing Academy (aka mental hospital). The perps were stealing about 25K a month and the Justice Department would not touch the case because "it isn´t enough money" and because all of the witnesses were crazy people. The State of Colorado acted and the head thief later received a 15 year sentence at the Stony Lonesome (aka penitentiary). Obama´s Justice Department is worthless and dangerous.
Yes, it is disgusting. I would like to know how these people claim all these dependents without having social seurity numbers for them???? I had a hard time taking a legitimate claim. I had the SS # but there were still issues. I heard of somone who did not work all year and had no income, but was told to fill out the 1040 a certain way for certain years and to write two or 3 words on the form and they woukd get a refund. It happened. The person didn´t get paid though because they had back taxes. But it was applied to it. The IRS is a mess. Honest people get audited and go through hell while illegals do fraud and get a pass!! Maybe Wesley Snipes should complain for being singled out for being a citizen!!!
Now you know why federal employees don´t worry about paying back taxes. But if you tried it, they´d have the Marshall Service knocking on your door with guns drawn. It happened to a neighbor of mine. The only reason I know about it is because another neighbor opened his door to find guns pointed at him (wrong house). He was lucky he wasn´t shot.
Am I the only person who sees that the answer to this problem, and the illegal alien problem as a whole is to turn back the clock to the 1950s and start a massive deportation effort? Enforce the laws already on the books, this is America, we can do anything. Overcrowded schools..problem solved. Drain on medical care..problem solved. Drain on food stamps and other welfare programs..problem solved. Stop treating the symptoms, cure the problem.
Many Americans at both ends of the political spectrum view history in conspiratorial terms. The late Senator Joseph McCarthy set the bar very high when he claimed to have uncovered “a conspiracy on a scale so immense as to dwarf any previous such venture in the history of man. A conspiracy of infamy so black that, when it is finally exposed, its principals shall be forever deserving of the maledictions of all honest men.” (Snip) Diana West, who expands the scope of this conspiracy in American Betrayal, is McCarthy’s heiress. She argues that during the New Deal
Anti-Islamization campaigner Pamela Geller is pushing back hard against the local police’s attempt to nix her Toronto speech earlier this year. She’ll be testifying before the Independent Police Review Director tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mendel Kaplan, the squishy rabbi who got bullied by the coppers into canceling Miss Geller’s appearance at his synagogue, has been giving his version of events: Asked whether he ever felt intimidated or threatened, he said, “There was a very clear choice laid out to me. The police said, ‘we don’t believe this agrees with [our] values, so either you have to give up your chaplaincy
In his first interview since his supervised release from prison, the filmmaker behind “Innocence of Muslims” told The Daily Caller that he “has no regrets” and promises more films and books about Islam. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is the only person who has been imprisoned in the aftermath of the organized Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, in which the ambassador and three other Americans were killed. He was wholly unconnected to the attack and was imprisoned on technical probation violations.
Is college for everyone? That´s pretty much the conventional wisdom today, but I don´t think so. And, in fact, for some people, it may be actively damaging. In deciding whether to take ondebt-- and give up years of their lives -- in exchange for a college degree, applicants need to think more about potential downsides. And alternatives. When people think about college, it´s often through a gauzy veil of imagination and memory. For the kinds of people who write about college, the memories are often positive: To be in the position of (say) a newspaper columnist or a professor,
Years ago, I lived in a small walk-up apartment on East 47th Street in New York. (Snip) As far as I knew, I’d never run across gypsies before. Since then, living in Europe, I’ve encountered more than my share. It all began on January 1, 2007, when Romania and Bulgaria became members of the European Union – thus setting loose a torrent of gypsies that flooded from those two countries into every one of the richer EU lands to the West. Some of them resettled permanently; others began traveling back and forth, begging and stealing for a few weeks
Top Stories: The state-funded College of Charleston, located in Charleston, South Carolina, has assigned all its incoming freshmen to read “Fun Home” by Alison Bechdel, a graphic novel which contains pictorial images of lesbian sex, commentary on masturbation, and accounts of pedophilia. In total, the College has spent $39,000 for the distribution of this book to freshmen and will pay another $13,000 for a speech by the author this fall. Participation in the summer reading program is mandatory.
CAIRO — It is no longer cool to have a beard. Islamist president Mohamed Morsi is out. His opponents, a military-backed interim government of secularists, are in. And if you’ve got a beard — that most conspicuous symbol of Islamism in post-Arab Spring Egypt — you’re likely to get taunted on the metro, harassed in the souk and possibly even assaulted, according to conservative Muslims. A month after a military coup ousted Morsi and landed his top cohorts in the Muslim Brotherhood behind bars, a popular backlash against the Islamists who governed for just over a year is palpable
George Mitchell was the son of a poor Greek goatherd who worked his way through college, graduated top of his class, and became known for his determination and vision. The Economist describes him as the father of fracking: He did not discover shale gas and oil: geological surveys had revealed them decades before he started. He did not even invent fracking: it had been in use since the 1940s…. His greatness lay in a combination of vision and grit: he was convinced that technology could unlock the vast reserves of energy in the Barnett Shale
Shawn Aiken is an American veteran of two tours of combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan but he met perhaps his most formidable foe back home—the Defense Department’s finance and accounting department. During treatment for a brain injury, PTSD, and other afflictions, the Army stopped paying Aiken. His salary for December 2011 came in at $117.99. He struggled to pay his medical bills, put food on the table for his family, buy gifts for his young children for Christmas. The Defense Department treated him like a bad soldier and couldn’t explain why he wasn’t being paid.
Someone sent me the link to this article, and I could hardly believe what I read. Folks, this is just too crazy for words. Forty-year-old Tawana Brawley was recently celebrated, treated as a rock star at a New Jersey fundraiser. (Snip) Have the event organizers completely lost their minds? Are their brains so infected with the putrid pus of racial hatred that they have lost all sense of a moral compass? For those of you unaware, Tawana Brawley committed an evil hoax which sparked a national racial firestorm in 1987.
Dave Miceli doesn´t know me from a hole in the ground, but he´s my new hero. (Snip) "How dare you accuse, through implication or otherwise, that the need for ´better schools´ is a reason there is so much killing. I have taught in the Baltimore public school system for the past two decades. What we need is better students. They have trashed brand new computers, destroyed exit signs, set multiple fires, destroyed many, many lockers, stolen teachers´ school supplies, written their filth on the tops of classroom desks, defecated in the bathrooms and stairwells, assaulted teachers
In a letter to fellow-Republicans on the Hill today, Senator Jeff Sessions declares with admirable straightforwardness that the GOP establishment’s main argument for the Gang of Eight immigration bill — that “the great lesson of the 2012 election is that the GOP needs to push for immediate amnesty and a drastic surge in low-skill immigration” — is quite simply ”nonsense.” He is, of course, correct. (Snip) Today’s letter from GOP donors and fundraisers — i.e., the GOP establishment — to the House Republicans repeats the same dreary fallacies.
He thought he was a woman trapped in a man’s body — but it turns out he’s “just another boring straight guy.” ABC News editor Don Ennis strolled into the newsroom in May wearing a little black dress and an auburn wig and announced he was transgender and splitting from his wife. He wanted to be called Dawn. But now he says he suffered from a two-day bout of amnesia that has made him realize he wants to live his life again as Don. “I accused my wife of playing some kind of cruel joke, dressing
WASHINGTON — Former Massachusetts lawmaker Barney Frank revealed that he doesn’t believe in God. During Friday’s appearance on HBO’s “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Frank, who championed the decriminalization of pot while serving in the House of Representatives, admitted to smoking marijuana and being an atheist. “You were in a fairly safe district. You were not one of those congress people who would have to worry about every little thing,” Maher said to Frank. “You could come on this show and sit next to a pot-smoking atheist and it wouldn’t bother you.”
The truth about Benghazi, the Associated Press/James Rosen monitoring, the IRS corruption, the NSA octopus, and Fast and Furious is still not exactly known. Almost a year after the attacks on our Benghazi facilities, we are only now learning details of CIA gun-running, military stand-down orders, aliases of those involved who are still hard to locate, massaged talking points, and the weird jailing of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula. We still do not quite know why Eric Holder’s Justice Department went after the Associated Press or Fox News’s James Rosen — given that members of the administration were themselves illegally leaking
Washington--As hundreds of commuters emerged from Amtrak and commuter trains at Union Station on a recent morning, an armed squad of men and women dressed in bulletproof vests made their way through the crowds. The squad was not with the Washington police department or Amtrak’s police force, but was one of the Transportation Security Administration’s Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response squads — VIPR teams for short — assigned to perform random security sweeps to prevent terrorist attacks at transportation hubs across the United States.(Snip)With little fanfare, the agency best known for airport screenings has vastly expanded its reach
A poll released Friday by Public Policy Polling found that Alaska voters would pick former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the state´s former Republican governor, Sarah Palin, if the two women were to face off in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton led with 49 percent in the hypothetical match-up, with Palin at 40 percent, a nine-point gap. As of July 3, Republicans comprised 27 percent of the state´s registered voters and Democrats made up just 14 percent. The last time Alaskans opted for the Democrats´ presidential candidate was in 1964. Clinton trails five other hypothetical GOP candidates –
In an interview for The Guardian Weekend magazine, actor Matt Damon recently weighed in with his thoughts on how President Barack Obama has handled the scandals that have engulfed his administration since the spring. Damon, a vocal supporter of the president since his 2008 campaign for national office, said that Obama is overcompensating for his lack of military background with his tough response to controversies like how the government is responding to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden. The actor said that Obama is allowing himself to “get bullied” and is acting as though is “manhood”
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus threatened to pull the group’s partnership with NBC and CNN for 2016 GOP presidential primary debates if the networks moved ahead with plans to air films on Hillary Clinton. “If they have not agreed to pull this programming prior to the start of the RNC’s Summer Meeting on August 14, I will seek a binding vote stating that the RNC will neither partner with these networks in 2016 primary debates nor sanction primary debates they sponsor,” Preibus said in a statement. In individual letters to CNN President Jeff Zucker and NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt,
The Pentagon has placed its elite cadre of special operations teams on full alert to launch preemptive attacks against suspected al Qaeda targets across the globe, according to reports. The American special forces teams have spent the past week waiting for U.S. military and intelligence officials to confirm the whereabouts of the terror cell plotting to attack U.S. diplomatic outposts in the Mideast and North Africa. Unnamed sources told CNN on Monday that the teams were poised to carry out the preemptive strikes, but declined to comment on where the U.S. forces were located or which potential
Oprah Winfrey on Monday said the killings of Trayvon Martin and Emmett Till are the "same thing." This transpired during an interview with The Grio that aired on NBC´s Today show. OPRAH WINFREY: It´s so easy during this time: Trayvon Martin, Trayvon Martin parallel to Emmett Till, let me just tell you. In my mind, same thing. But you can, you can get stuck in that and not allow yourself to move forward and to see how far we´ve come. Really? Martin and Till are the same thing?
In an exclusive interview for The Grio, NBCUniversal’s African-American news and opinion website, Oprah Winfrey weighed in with her unvarnished thoughts on the killing of Trayvon Martin and the acquittal of George Zimmerman. Winfrey said that, in her mind, Martin’s murder and that of Emmett Till in 1955 – whose killers were also acquitted – were the “same thing.” However, she added that it is important to keep in mind how much race relations in America have progressed over the last half-century. In a clip of the interview which aired on NBC’s Today, Oprah told The Grio’s Chris
Two Republican senators said Tuesday that they´ve personally urged the Egyptian government to release Muslim Brotherhood prisoners, after hosting meetings with top officials in Cairo as part of an Obama administration-sanctioned visit. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who is in Cairo along with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-.S.C., made clear that the two U.S. lawmakers are representing the views of Congress and "do not speak for the White House." Still, they are among the most prominent U.S. representatives in the country this week, as a wave of international mediators tries to nudge the country´s military-backed government to resolve the standoff
NEW YORK — Why doesn´t Anthony Weiner just quit? It´s a question angry voters, pundits and fellow politicians have been asking almost nonstop in the nearly two weeks since the New York City mayoral candidate´s latest sexting bombshell, which has sent his poll numbers plummeting and turned his campaign into a chaotic sideshow. Weiner insists he´s staying in the race no matter what. And experts say that beyond the former congressman´s well-known ego and combativeness, his stance may just be rooted in political calculation. A leading theory: Weiner takes his hits on the campaign trail, gives the media a chance
