Gun Control advocates have planned a National Day of Action for today, March 28, with 140 events in 29 states. The intent is to put pressure on those Senators who do not support the Senate Democrat´s gun control bill (specifically, universal background checks) heading to the floor when the senate returns from Easter break. Everyone´s favorite nanny, Mayor and America´s Imperial Health Commissioner Bloomberg, is helping the cause. Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a group that is run and financed by New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg (I), began a $12 million TV ad campaign this week targeting

Make no mistake; these people are coming after our guns and confiscation is their ultimate objective! Unlike the silent majority these people are well-financed and willing to put in their time and energy in order to obtain gun confiscation. Unless us gunowners get off our butts and directly confront these people we are going to lose the Second Amendment. The end!

I´ll pay attention to these new blueshirts when they show ONE second of concern about THIS administration ordering at least one AZ gun dealer to sell ´assault´ weapons to a drug cartel buyer. Until then I´ll hold them at the appropriate level of contempt I think they deserve.

I´d have to say it was a total failure. The only part of the palooza I noticed was the WON scolding others about the need to infringe on the rights of US citizens ASAP. I fast forwarded through any and all cuts of his palaver on all channels thanks to a modern innovation called DVR.
I have not heard any mention of the other 139 events so mentioned in the palooza. I would have missed this event had this article not been posted. Thanks. /s

Disney to pull Boy Scouts

The Walt Disney Company has given notice to the Boy Scouts of America that it will pull all funding to the group starting in 2015 because of a BSA membership policy that bans gay leaders, the entertainment company said Friday. Disney does not give money directly to the national organization or local BSA councils. However, through its VoluntEARS program, Disney allows employees to do volunteer work in exchange for cash donations to the charities of their choice. Employees taking part in the VoluntEARS program will no longer be able to submit the funds to the Boy Scouts, the organization said.

U.S. Spies Said No Invasion—

On Thursday night, the best assessment from the U.S. intelligence community—and for that matter most experts observing events in Ukraine—was that Vladimir Putin’s military would not invade Ukraine. Less than 24 hours later, however, there are reports from the ground of Russian troops pushing into the Ukrainian province of Crimea. It’s hardly a full-blown invasion. But it’s not quite the picture U.S. analysts were painting just a day before. There was good reason to think Putin wouldn’t do it. Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov told Secretary of State John Kerry that Russia respected the territorial integrity of the Ukraine. U.S.

Half of $10 million gold trove

Finding a trove of 19th century gold coins was an unexpected windfall for a California couple, but what comes next is one of life´s great certainties: taxes. The couple is likely to lose about half the coins´ value in taxes to the U.S. government, thanks to a 1969 tax case called Cesarini v. United States. In the 45-year-old case, a husband and wife bought a used piano for $15 but found about $4,500 stashed inside. Although they argued that the money shouldn´t be taxed, the court found in favor of the IRS. That means that the unnamed California couple who

Scott Eastwood may be following in his father´s footsteps by becoming an actor, but he´s made it perfectly clear that his true passions lie elsewhere. In the new issue of Man of the World, the 27-year-old son of Clint Eastwood opens up about his love of all things physical, saying: ´If I didn´t do this, I´d be a fireman; something super-active that challenges you and is different every day.´ Scott - who stars with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf in upcoming movie Fury - added that when it comes down to it, acting isn´t something that should be taken seriously.

A treaty signed in 1994 by the US and Britain could pull both countries into a war to protect Ukraine if President Putin´s troops cross into the country. Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma – the then-rulers of the USA, UK, Russia and Ukraine - agreed to the The Budapest Memorandum as part of the denuclearization of former Soviet republics after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Technically it means that if Russia has invaded Ukraine then it would be difficult for the US and Britain to avoid going to war. The revelation comes as reports suggest the

Minutes after issuing a stern warning to Russia and saying there will be a price to pay if it interferes militarily in Ukraine, President Obama headed to a “happy hour” with fellow Democrats. Speaking at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, Mr. Obama struck a very different tone than he had less than 30 minutes earlier, when he appeared with little warning in the White House press briefing room and issued a vague threat to Moscow. “Well, it’s Friday. It’s after 5 o’clock. So, this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic party,” the president told his cohorts.

Speaking to the Democratic National Committee Friday night, President Obama defended his right to use executive authority and mocked Republicans for their obsession with the Affordable Care Act. Obama leavened his sharp policy message--which focused on increasing the minimum wage and expanding health care access--with moments of levity, telling the crowd at the Capital Hilton, "Well, it´s Friday. It´s after 5:00. So this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic Party." As the group laughed and applauded, the president added, "I can do that. It is an executive action. I have the authority."

After keeping them under lock and key for 13 years, the National Archives and the Clinton Presidential Library on Friday released about 4,000 to 5,000 pages of documents from former President Bill Clinton´s administration. The newly-released documents give the public fresh insight into the Clinton administration and into the history of Hillary Clinton -- the former first lady, former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate. (Snip) None of the documents were related to the Whitewater or Monica Lewinsky scandals. Others were related to issues of little relative importance now, such as labor issues on the Northern Mariana Islands.

PHOENIX — Ending a day that cast a glaring national spotlight on Arizona, Gov. Her action came amid mounting pressure from Arizona business leaders, who said the bill would be a financial disaster for the state and would harm its reputation. Prominent members of the Republican establishment, including Mitt Romney and Gov. Rick Scott of Florida, also sided with the bill’s opponents, who argued that the measure would have allowed people

The “greatest buried treasure ever unearthed in the United States” is about to be hit by the tax collector. A chilling video of Maryland police silencing an innocent student who was recording the arrests of two other people has civil libertarians outraged. The arrests were made at night on the streets of Towson, Maryland. A University of Maryland-Baltimore County student who witnessed the arrests decided to record them using his cell phone. The student, 21-year-old Sergio Gutierrez, was soon approached by officers who objected — wrongly — to his actions. Gutierrez repeatedly told the officers that he knew he had the right to film them, but the cops were prepared to use any excuse to shut him down. First they told
