CDC: 110,197,000 Venereal
Infections in U.S.; Nation Creating
New STIs Faster Than New
Jobs or College Grads

Cybercast News Service, by Terence P. Jeffrey

Original Article

Posted By:ScarletPimpernel, 3/27/2013 4:18:41 PM

According to new data released by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 19.7 million new venereal infections in the United States in 2008, bringing the total number of existing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the U.S. at that time to 110,197,000. [Snip] The STI study referenced by the CDC estimated that 50 percent of the new infections in 2008 occurred among people in the 15-to-24 age bracket. In fact, of the 19,738,800 total new STIs in the United States in 2008, 9,782,650 were among Americans in the 15-to-24 age bracket.

Comments:
These numbers are staggering. There are many implications here, not the least of which is the strain on the health care system and the cost which will surely be borne by taxpayers to treat and control these infections. Also, STI´s can lead to sterility. I suspect that infertility in this country isn´t only due to women waiting longer to have children.

Bogus numbers or not, the only real way to prevent STD is to only have sex with your spouse, or if not married, keep your legs crossed.

THIS is the result of all the ´feel good´ PC crap and ´free sex´......

There is always a price to pay.

Interesting that the ´age bracket´ hardest hit is the area affected by the non-stop mantra from schools that ´gay sex is normal and healthy´, and indoctrinating young ladies that birth control isn´t really *their* responsibility - it´s society´s...

Nothing like institutionalizing promiscuity, eh? Thank your local school boards.

The numbers refer to infections, not people. As per the article, people who get one STI are at risk for multiple infections - either repeats of the same infection or different ones. Still, the numbers are alarming.

Among straight white and Asian folk - STD rates are pretty low.

Otherwise in 2011 blacks had 17 times the rate of gonorrhea over whites - which accounts for numbers showing Southern states having higher STD rates than the whiter Northern states.
http://www.cdc.gov/std/health-disparities/race.htm

Gays have similarly lopsided STDs rates when compared to straights

If we had seen numbers like these during the flu season they would have declared a national emergency. An alarming and interesting stat that is not mentioned is that the 18-24 year olds account for 20% of the sexually active part of the population but 50% of the STDs.Another interesting point is the sharp increase in STDs among older people since Viagra came on the market.Everything has its price.

Curious as to why they keep these statistics and found that they really aren´t statistics, but rather estimates and guesses. I wasted 10 minutes!

The study focused on estimating the incidences of sexual transmission of particular diseases as opposed to other forms of transmission. For example, it did not include HIV infections that were not sexually transmitted. It also counted the number of infections rather than the number of people infected--recognizing that a single individual could have multiple infections.

Since Mayor Bloomberg has shown such an interest in penalizing the behaviors of others which he finds disturbing, perhaps he will stop all Medicaid payments for medical fees related to the acquisition and treatment of STDs? My advice to these STI victims is that they should go **** themselves instead to avoid such diseases and the financial strain that contracting these afflictions places on society.

A century-or-so ago, established religions frowned upon the rutting behavior that produces such infection rates. The agent of suppression was the family. In the America of today, the only penalty for sexual "liberty" is the disease that it produces, and being "punished with a baby" as our presidential impersonator puts it.
The Roman Empire largely controlled water-borne diseases in its crowded populations by protected aqueducts and well-constructed sewers. Where, two thousand years later, are the equivalent policies to control epidemic sexual disease?

The article seems oddly constructed.

Should we conclude that these STI numbers would be fine if only we created more jobs or more people graduated from college?

FTA:
"The Bureau of Labor Statistics has published historical data on the number of people employed in the U.S. going back to 1948. In no year since then has the U.S. economy created anywhere near the 19.7 million new STIs estimated for 2008."

So the U.S. economy creates STIs????? And the Department Of Labor counts the output.

Within the context of keeping the Syrian jihad alive, it seems there is no end to the attempts of some Islamic clerics to legitimize otherwise forbidden behavior in order to gratify the sexual urges of the jihadis and keep them fighting Syrian president Bashar Assad. First, there was the now infamous “sex-jihad” fatwa, which holds that any Muslim woman who willingly allows her body to be used by the sexually-deprived jihadis becomes herself a jihadi, if not a “martyr,” deserving of all the honor and rewards associated with those titles.

Ezekiel Emanuel has written extensively, before and after he helped draft ObamaCare, about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving. Emanuel is part of a school of thought that redefines a physician’s duty, insisting that it includes working for the greater good of society instead of focusing only on a patient’s needs. Many physicians find that view dangerous, and most Americans are likely to agree.

It is a tender, natural and intimate portrait which shows, for the first time, something of the personality of young Prince George. Released on his first Mothering Sunday, this official portrait – in a relaxed style perfectly reflecting the Duke and Duchess’s very modern approach to Royalty – depicts the eight-month-old as a curious, affectionate toddler, gazing into the eyes of the family’s beloved Lupo. George seems devoted to the cocker spaniel and, judging by the adoration on Lupo’s face, the sentiments are returned.

The son of the Nevada rancher locked in an increasingly tense land dispute with the federal government, says their cowboys managed to break a blockade and retrieve around 30 head of cattle. Federal agents swooped on Tuesday after Cliven Bundy, dubbed the last remaining rancher in southern Nevada, refused to remove his herd of 900 cows from land he claims has been in his family since 1870. Nearly a year into the IRS scandal, we still don´t know exactly what happened—though we are finally getting an inkling. That´s thanks to the letter House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp sent this week to the Justice Department recommending a criminal probe of Lois Lerner. The average citizen might be dizzied by the torrent of confusing terms—BOLO lists, Tigta, 501(c)(4)—and the array of accusations that have made up this IRS investigation. Mr. Camp´s letter takes a step back to remind us why this matters, even as it provides compelling new information that goes to motive and method—and clarifies some of

It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

There is mainstream media-suppressed case history in Nevada the feds are desperately trying to keep under wraps. Chief Judge Robert C. Jones of the Federal District Court of Nevada smacked down high-handed, abusive feds, sending the pretend cowboys riding roughshod over Western ranchers and property owners back to their cobweb-laced offices in 2013. In spite of their 200 armed snipers with boy toys in tow, those Stetson-wearing feds hunkering down on Cliven
