New York offers $500 reward
for reporting illegal gun owners

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:PaleAle, 3/22/2013 5:54:59 PM

Nearly a year before signing the nation´s most stringent gun control measure into law, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched a hotline that allows state residents to report illegal gun owners in exchange for a $500 reward. New Yorkers can call the "Gun Tip Line" if they believe someone they know has an illegal gun. “This initiative seeks to turn neighbor against neighbor and use their own tax dollars to pay for the $500 reward,” Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin told the station.

Comments:
Time to start making some anonymous tips. New Yorkers should get organized and call in tips naming every politician, lawyer, entertainer, dog catcher, teacher, street corner hood, and embassy staffer they can name. Overwhelm the system with tips. How could they sort them all out?

This is Obama´s strategy too. Turning Americans against each other. It´s what community organizers do.

What could *possibly* go wrong here???

So, to recap...I get ticked off at somebody, plant a gun in their car - get ´em hauled off to jail and Bloomberg gives me $500 and a 32oz soda?

Where do I sign up? (wow - I didn´t think my eyes would roll that far up in my skull...)

My thoughts on this report...

Got Gun?
Get your illegal gun off while you still can... Otherwise...

Have gun, will plea bargain.

That´s how most Communist regimes keep their people in "line", by having local neighborhood "snitches" who report to the state on what their neighbors are doing.

I think the Governor should be very careful about putting a bounty on the heads of citizens. This kind of thing has a nasty habit of getting out of control.

It seems that ´Rats support rats. What´s the big surprise in that? It´s 1984 in New York State, and unlike the real 1984--as opposed to the fictional one--Reagan isn´t in the White House this time. Sacre bleu. What is the matter with the political classes there? As Ty Webb (Chevy Chase) mused in Caddyshack, "This isn´t Russia. Is this Russia?" Cuomo and Company are bound and determined to empty that state of all sentient life.

There has yet to be an exemption for LEO´s added to the statute (nor should there be - citizens have no less a use for standard capacity 15/30 round magazines than a police officer or one of Cuomo or Bloomberg´s body guards does).

Accordingly, almost every single law enforcement officer in New York State is carrying an "illegal gun". Well, at least those that haven´t downloaded their 15 and 30-round magazines to seven (7!) rounds, as required by the so-called "SAFE Act."

Frankly, I like the original poster´s idea. My advice tho is to buy yourself a throwaway phone in another area of the state and make the call there so they can´t trace it back to you. Then throw away the phone.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that she opposes a cut in congressional pay because it would diminish the dignity of lawmakers´ jobs. "I don´t think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. "I think it´s necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded." The comments were made in the context of the looming sequester, which would force across-the-board cuts affecting most federal offices, including Congress.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look
