2014: Who Will the Clueless
Blame When Obamacare
Kicks In?

RUSH: Here´s Tracy in Bedford, Indiana, next up on Open Line Friday. Hi. CALLER: Hey, Rush, thank you so much for taking my call. RUSH: You bet. CALLER: Listen. I wanted to let you know that Obamacare hit our school system this week. I´m a Title I teaching assistant in the public school system here and it affects, I don´t know, maybe eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and the high school. What they have done is, first of all, the IRS is apparently overseeing Obamacare in Indiana. I guess everywhere maybe.

Unless something different than what is happening in the Republican Party since November is done, the blame will squarely be laid on them. The fact that not a single Republican member from either Chamber voted for this monstrosity will be a political millstone rather than a life preserver in ´14. Its twisted and unfair but 0bama, 0bamacare are not here to be fair. Don´t take a pen knife to a gun fight.

When free market capitalism is universally despised, good luck promoting it as a solution/alternative to Obamacare. Name one teacher K-12 who ever had a good word for Hayek or Friedman. Or in college. Or in the media. Or, sadly, businessmen.

It has long been obvious that Israel punches far above its weight in contributions to innovations in science, research, and general culture. For some time, Tel Aviv and its surroundings have been second only to Silicon Valley in scientific and technological developments. Now the country´s ambition is to become a major, and possibly the leading, cyber-nation in the world. The abundant enemies of Israel readily swallow the Palestinian narrative of unique victimhood and eagerly publicize illustrations of the bigoted companies, organization, and academic units engaged in or proposing boycott of the State of Israel. In his recent State of the Union address, President Obama made it clear that any attempt by a bipartisan majority in Congress to pass new sanctions legislation on Iran would be promptly vetoed. As the president said, "For the sake of our national security, we must give diplomacy a chance to succeed." The president has seemingly determined that the Iranian theocratic regime is trustworthy, and perhaps a potential ally for us in the Middle East, even though Iran: 1) is technically at war with the U.S.; 2) has a long history of lying in its diplomacy; 3) continues to be the

During the 1956 presidential campaign, an enthusiastic supporter called out to the Democratic candidate, Adlai Stevenson: "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person. Stevenson wistfully called back: "That´s not enough, madam, we need a majority!" Once known as the "silent majority," now as the nation´s "low-information voters," these citizens perform their civic duty on election day. But they have no real clue for whom or what they are voting. Yes, when it comes to their occupational callings, investment, or sport picks, they may be highly rational. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still the artist behind the spoken-word album, Capitalism Is My Bag, Baby. But here’s the problem. Because most people on the right love and respect capitalism and pretty much everyone on the right feels the very real need to defend capitalism from the Occupiers, technocrats, sans-culottes, nudgers, equalizers, faux pragmatists, and other members of the Social Justice League, we don’t spend enough time focusing

Some Republican establishment operatives and their big donors want former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to run again in 2016--but they won´t go on record with their comments. An anonymous establishment operative told left-wing BuzzFeed that the 2016 GOP field, which is considered as strong as 2012´s was weak, has "gotten so bad" from the establishment´s point of view that donors are "looking back fondly on the good old days of 2012." “You know what a lot of them say to me? On Wednesday, Mitch McConnell told Fox News´ Megyn Kelly that the Obama administration is "initiating a new rule through the Treasury Department in the IRS to quiet the voices of outside groups." According to McConnell, the new rule would redefine what groups like the Tea Party could advocate, during a political campaign "to silence the voices of their critics going into this important fall election by using the Treasury Department regulations." This Obama strategy apparently grew out of one of the many lies both IRS witnesses and Democratic members of the Congressional Oversight Committee used to explain away delays in granting

Barack Obama announced in his 2014 State of the Union Address that he intends to bypass Congress "whenever and wherever" to achieve his extreme left-wing goals. Evidently, Obama intends to govern by executive orders (EO´s). EO´s are usually defined as directives that either implement or interpret a federal law, a constitutional provision, or a treaty. Obama has threatened to issue executive orders to make policy, a different use of them. A recent Washington Post/ABC News poll (1/20-23/14) found that 52% of the public approve of a president´s use of EO´s, while 46% oppose. Opinions about EO´s are highly dependent on partisanship. Through the course of thirty-five years of practicing psychology, I have come to believe that the key to happiness and success in life resides in the power of valuation. True valuation is the ability to recognize the most important value in every circumstance and to behave in order to actualize that value. The happiest people automatically recognize and act upon true values. Applied psychology has not fulfilled its potential to make the world a better place because it has not focused on the powers of valuation. America´s happiness and success as a nation have resulted from the one-pointed emphasis on the

In what is taking shape as a sort of Great Awakening, state legislators have begun to learn that they hold equal status with Congress when it comes to proposing amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Indeed, a handful of state legislators from each state, as yet unknown, are destined for the annals of American history the moment the nation´s first Convention for Proposing Amendments is gaveled to order. The process, found in Article V of the U.S. Constitution, requires the legislatures of at least two thirds (34) of the states to pass resolutions demanding that Congress call a "Convention for Proposing Amendments"

Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers. While the White House has refused to comment on the reports there has been a distinct frostiness in the air between the couple in recent months. World peace? No problem for Tim Tebow. Turns out the Patriots did themselves and Tebow a huge favor by releasing him from his contract before the season. Tebow has cashed in on his #NoContract status with a pair of 30-second commercials for T-Mobile set to air during the Super Bowl. If this one is any indication, the rest of the field will be fighting for second place in the "Best in Show" category. The ad is both creative, funny and incredibly well-produced.
