| President Obama and Congress will not solve America’s problems unless the people force them to. Washington is America’s problem. We are the solution. America remains a conservative nation. But the people crave leadership — champions who will stand up to the progressives, take on the liberal media and push back against the Republican leadership when they go wobbly. They are tired of politicians. (snip) As we move ahead, we must remember that there is a distinction between the Republican Party and the conservative movement. National Republican leaders have not advanced a conservative agenda for almost 20 years.

Uhhh ... I´d say about 45% of the people just crave free stuff, 24X7. Add massive voter fraud, and we get Dems running everything.
I don´t think the average Dem voter has any interest in leadership.

Ted Cruz and now Jim DeMint are speaking of opportunity. Although this applies nationwide, it needs to be implemented at the State and Municipal levels. It needs to start with access to a quality education. We must not allow our children to be trapped in failing schools. By the way, pulling your child from a failing school and taking him/her to an alternative and demanding they do a better job will be an incredible first step toward self-dependence for both the parent and the child.

I´m afraid Washing DC is just the symptom of the problem. The real problem lies in the cities. Those blue patches on the red-blue maps we´ve all seen. Vast areas of red, small patches of blue. The people who make up those blue patches are our problem. They aren´t going anywhere and they are not going to turn red ever. They are only getting larger in numbers, and bluer with each increase in their welfare.
[Sorry to be so pessimistic, I am feeling a sense of hopelessness today. I am just not seeing anything that makes me feel better about the future.]

Many ideas presented as "new" are just rehashes of old ideas that have been tried before -- and have failed before. So it is no surprise that the recent "Growth and Opportunity Project" report to the Republican National Committee is a classic example of what previous generations called "Me too" Republicanism. These are Republicans who think that the key to winning elections is to do more of what the Democrats are doing. In effect, they say "me too" on issues such as immigration, in hopes of gaining more new votes than they lose by betraying their existing supporters.

A Florida Atlantic University student who filed a complaint against his professor after he was ordered to stomp on the name of Jesus has been brought up on academic charges by the school and may no longer attend class, according to documents obtained by Fox News. The “Notice of Charges” against Ryan Rotela is contrary to a statement the university released late Friday night saying no one had been disciplined as a result of the classroom activity. The lawyer for a New Mexico meat plant that wants to be the first to slaughter horses in the U.S. since 2007 says the facility may be operational in three weeks. Now, after not inviting Chris Christie to speak, and declining to allow GoProud to participate, CPAC is refusing to allow Pamela Geller to have a booth or rent rooms to conduct events. IN MATTERS of foreign policy, Congress, and especially the Senate, was designed as a hedge against the abuses exhibited by overeager European monarchs who for centuries had whimsically entangled their countries in misguided adventures. America would not be such a place. The Constitution would protect our governmental process from the overreach of a single executive who might otherwise succumb to the impulsive temptation to unilaterally risk our country’s blood, treasure and international prestige. Congress was given the power to declare war and appropriate funds, thus eliminating any resemblance to European-style monarchies when it came to the presidential war power.

The Boy Scouts of America are in the news again, for the only thing they ever seem to be in the news for anymore: their attitudes toward homosexuals. Next week, the Scouts will hold a vote that´s widely expected to end the blanket ban on gays joining as members or holding adult leadership. Let’s take a preliminary look at the advantages and disadvantages of the cease fire agreement, from an Israeli and traditional pro-Western perspective. There are two big advantages. First, the agreement puts an end, at least for now, to the bombardment of Israel. (snip) Now to the disadvantages. First, Hamas won. Why? Because it bombarded Israel and was not crushed for it. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
