What could be worse than civilian
trials of terrorists? Maybe this

Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Original Article

Remember the Fort Hood massacre? It occurred in early November of 2009, when Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, killed 13 people on a military base. Three and half years later, the military still has not tried Hasan. Not that a trial of his guilt or innocence is necessary. Hasan asked, through his attorney, to plead guilty to 13 counts of premeditated murder. However, Army rules prohibit a judge from accepting a guilty plea to charges that carry the death penalty. Hasan then tried to plead guilty to 13 counts of unpremeditated murder. No dice.

I have to wonder whether this filthy islamofascist terrorist pig, homegrown, no less, would have died at the scene of the massacre, if MPs were on duty instead of civilian guards.
I also have to wonder how quickly he would have been exterminated at the scene, if the army policy of excluding sidearms on army posts had not existed. (in the good old days, officers carried 45 caliber pistols, if my memory serves me. I was on a flight from Europe to the U.S., stopped in Iceland for refueling, the pilot gave me his 45 pistol to guard the interior of the aircraft (DC-6) while everyone went into the terminal.
The USAF in those days actually ran a transport service, by the way, known as MATS-
Military Air Transport Service.

Their strategy is to delay the trial until after Obama leaves office. He believes that Muslims can do no wrong.

Is Crazed Super Bowl Security
a Taste of America To Come?

In the run-up to Super Bowl XLVIII (just be happy they don´t use Egyptian numerals), the New York City Police Department is deploying an "amazing arsenal of security initiatives," including 200 "temporary" surveillance cameras to ensure that dirty deeds remain undone at the big game. That´s remarkable, since City Hall in the rotten apple is actually about 11 miles from the site of the kickoff at MetLife Stadium, which is in East Rutherford, New Jersey. But never fear, security at the the Super Bowl itself promises to make attendance at football´s championship game an awful lot like spending several hours

Charlie Crist’s new book, lazily titled The Party’s Over, is a cause for both anger and sadness. Crist, the former Republican governor of Florida who is now running for the same office as a Democrat, has written—or rather has co-written, with Newsday columnist and Fox News liberal Ellis Henican—a dishonest and boring memoir. But by the end of this slim volume, a self-justifying account of why Crist switched parties, pathos overwhelms the sheer awfulness of the book. Crist is such a political hack, and so unable to talk or sound like a normal human being, that he actually provides a

FREDERICK, Md. — Roscoe Bartlett was rattling off the prices of giant bags of rice, wheat and corn, sold cheaply at Sam´s Club. The former congressman from rural, western Maryland expressed bewilderment that every American doesn´t stockpile such things, considering what he is sure is coming. "Storing enough calories isn´t really a challenge," said the rugged 87-year-old Republican, who served 10 terms on Capitol Hill. "The real challenge is vitamins and stuff." Bartlett is preparing for an epic power outage. More than the lights would go out, he fears. All electronics could malfunction. Cars might not run. GPS systems would fail. Generators

Of all the names Wendy Davis has been called, the “D” word could be the most damaging. It all started when, at the event where her daughter cried for her on stage, Davis was handed former Gov. Ann Richard’s shotgun, which she held somewhat awkwardly on stage. I don’t claim any expertise on how to hold a shotgun, but it made me uncomfortable seeing the barrel pointing at people, even if the gun was just in the loading position. If I remember nothing else from my NRA safety course, it’s never point a barrel at anyone even if you think the gun

An unhinged upstate man threatened to kill former President George W. Bush so he could get into “a relationship” with Dubya´s daughter Barbara Pierce Bush, authorities said Friday. “Bush will get his,” Pittsford, New York, resident Benjamin Smith, 44, screamed after authorities tracked him to Lexington Ave. and E. 28th St. in Kips Bay — a short distance from the first twin’s Greenwich Village home -- at 6:15 a.m. Friday, officials said. Investigators arrested Smith after a loaded Rossi .38-caliber rifle and a container of gasoline were found in his vehicle. The Secret Service had been looking for Smith for more than 12

Sen. Granny Warren, the fake Indian, has said many things that we all remember, most of them involving her, ahem, Native-American heritage. That gag about her high cheekbones is one of my personal favorites. But Chief Spreading Bull recently delivered another memorable line at the Martin Luther King breakfast: “We cannot be a country that says, ‘I’ve got mine, the rest of you are on your own.’?” Wow, I thought. What Republican would make such an inflammatory statement? ?Ted Cruz? Rand Paul? Mike Lee from Utah? So I looked it up on Google, and guess what? I could only find one politician who’s

When you analyze the public response to the State of the Union and the latest polling data, it’s clear that the President has lost a tremendous amount of credibility with the American public. I scarcely think he cares at this point. A tired, graying Barack Obama stood before Congress this week as a political figure, party leader, and progressive activist to make sure the Members understood one thing – he doesn’t need them. In fact, he hasn’t needed them in quite some time. After all, in his mind, it’s his government. True, the speech wasn’t as “in your face” as

Mr. President, Republicans are calling your bluff. During last Tuesday’s State of the Union, President Obama responded to the GOP’s attempts to repeal ObamaCare this way: “If you have specific plans to cut costs, cover more people, increase choice, tell America what you’d do differently,” he said. “We all owe it to the American people to say what we’re for, not just what we’re against.” Challenge accepted. Last week, three GOP senators — North Carolina’s Richard Burr, Oklahoma’s Tom Coburn and Utah’s Orrin Hatch — introduced a new proposal that would do far more than repeal ObamaCare and return us to what we

Moody´s rating agency has lowered the outlook for health insurers from stable to negative, blaming ObamaCare. Few Americans will shed tears for insurance companies. But the Moody´s announcement is a warning sign to taxpayers. They´ll be getting clobbered. Section 1342 of the Affordable Care Act forces taxpayers to make insurers whole for most of the losses incurred selling ObamaCare exchange plans through 2016. The bailout is designed to conceal the failure of the president´s signature health law until he is out of office. No one in the Obama administration talked up the advantages of bailing out insurers. Leaders of two major unions, including the first to endorse Obama in 2008, said they have been betrayed by an administration that wooed their support for the 2009 legislation with promises to later address the peculiar needs of union-negotiated insurance plans that cover millions of workers.

Christie knew! Christie lied! Those are the allegations from the former Port Authority official who set in motion the September lane closings on the George Washington Bridge that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has insisted he knew nothing about. The charges are plainly stated in a letter to the general counsel of the Port Authority from the lawyer for former Port Authority official David Wildstein. The mystery is why Wildstein and attorney, Alan Zegas, are saying it now.
