This isn´t isolated this is their mindset. Don´t achieve, conform. You didn´t earn that A anyway. Back in the first year of Clinton´s administration George Miller D-CA, wanted to eliminate any federal funding that went to a school district that dared to offer advanced courses. We need to maintain a uniform distribution of dumbness.

How about "Mediocrity Night"? Or "Satisfactory Night"? Then there´s always the "Meets Standards Luncheon". My favorite is the event honoring all students who showed up to school, not necessarily their classes, just showed up to school at least 47% of the schoolyear, or better, the students who showed up at the various bus stops. Give those kids a ribbon. We can call it the "I´m OK, You´re OK Award".

Likewise, cancel any unfair awards, citations, or bonuses the school or its employees received, because it wouldn´t be fair to the schools and employees that tried so hard, but didn´t succeed.

It occurred to me that this story was a little too pat so I looked it up. Turns out the principal didn´t actually CANCEL the honors recognition, only put it in the one big ceremony at the end of the year.
Telling half the story is what the libs do so often when they criticize us conservatives, so let´s not do the same thing when we criticize them.
Fair is fair, Rush Limbaugh, no matter which side you´re on.

Yeah it was canceled, it was a special award ceremony for those kids that now is combined at the end of the year so it gets lost in all the other awards being handed out. (waters down the special recognition) Like the ones for showing up at the bus stop at least twice a week, not leaving the class room in shambles, learning how to recite Dick and Jane books. The award list at these ceremonies is endless and bores every one to tears.

SEOUL -- South Korea´s Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae said Monday there are signs that North Korea may be preparing for another nuclear test. In a meeting with lawmakers, the policymaker said that Seoul is aware of indications that another test is being planned, but he failed to go into details. Today, Kim Jang-soo, South Korea’s new national security director, said North Korea may fire off a missile as soon as Wednesday. The launch will undoubtedly be a test of an intermediate-range missile, not an attack. North Korea last week moved two missiles, which were subsequently loaded onto mobile launchers, to its east coast. Many expect the missiles, which have been subsequently moved to hidden locations, will be fired in trajectories arcing over Japan. The Pentagon is not at the moment especially concerned about Pyongyang’s longest-range missile, the Taepodong-2, a variant of the successfully tested Unha-3 rocket.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
