Rick Perry does communicate well when he has time and is not responding in small sound bytes. He obviously did not prepare for the debates, but he will do ok when he does decide to run and does make some preparation. He´s been a great governor for Texas. One accomplishment was the democrats got mad and left the state at one point. Texas didn´t change anything, but the democrats came back. I wish they hadn´t.

Trucker Observation: The USA has 4 more awful years with Obama since L.dotters couldn´t recognize what a great Conservative Governor Rick Perry IS and what a great President he will make. Time to do it right guys.

A good guy. He´ll be skewered constantly by the left-media; he´s one that is able to take it, but, time will tell.

I´m in agreement with #1 and #3. Perry, whose beliefs are in line with Reagan´s of a generation (or two) ago, was always the best choice, and almost certainly would have done better than Romney. When the reality of the Affordable (sic) Care Act fully sets in next year--to say nothing of asinine Democrat political asides like gun control--the political climate, heretofore toxic to conservatives and libertarians, should change for the better.

Perry´s embarrassing brain freeze might have been the result of pain killers he needed after trying to come back too soon from back surgery. His self-deprecating personality and superior ability to connect with Hispanic voters make him more a more viable candidate than most other Republicans. His three terms as Texas governor might become four at the next gubernatorial election. I think he has earned another look by voters, especially after the coming fallout from Obama´s destructive agenda--an agenda that Hillary, incidentally, shares point for point.

Uhhh, no. No more Texans in the White House for awhile. They´re all "conservative" until they get elected...from LBJ to that last fellow.

He´s a good man who performs much better in one-on-one interviews than larger settings. However, he did oppose Ted Cruz.

The necessity to campaign so soon after back surgery was a lot of the problem, imo.

It´s hard to be a candidate that first time. No one is really prepared for the rigors of a national election. Even Reagan needed 3 tries to get the nomination. I have no doubt Perry will be better next time but let´s be honest. He was a terrible candidate last time.

Let´s hope Reps don´t repeat the debate debacles of 2012--having debate after debate, a circular firing squad, Bachman-types in the room (i.e. those with zero chance of being nominated)..

I´m a Rick Perry fan. I´ve voted for him every time his name appeared on a ballot. But, the run for the presidential nomination was clearly an impulse, not planned in advance and not well thought out. It was a mistake and it damaged Governor Perry, maybe permanently. It was painful to watch for someone who likes and trusts him, as I do.

Let´s don´t do it again, Rick.

Perry was a military pilot when he was in the Air Force.
Dopes don´t become military pilots, they become community organizers.
I was disappointed , however , that he chose to take cheap shots at Mitt Romney at CPAC.

There are three things I like about Rick.

Perry is a very good man, but to run successfully you really have to be prepared and Rick wasn´t. Late entry candidacies need to be actively discouraged.

And yes - fewer candidates, fewer debates and restricting the topics might be helpful. When I (a non-Texan) think of Rick Perry I think of gardasil, or whatever the hell that was. Ridiculous. Our presidential aspirants have got to avoid cutting each other to pieces over crap that will have no bearing on a general election.

Don´t be fooled by Perry, he loves crony capitalism. He has very little power in the State of Texas and is just a figurehead. He´s already sold a lot of Texas to foreign entities - the toll roads. Voting for him as the lesser of two evils means having to hold one´s nose. Many of us did.
He needs a lot of research as does Rubio. There´s plenty of time to do it.

"A lot of Texas" has NOT been "sold to foreign entities". There may be reasons not to like Perry, but he´s Texas proud and Texas solid. Tamp down the hyperbole.
