Why not? Look at Bill Clinton. He was much, much worst, a serial womanizer and he is riding high as one of the World´s most popular. Sanford made a mistake and fell in love for the first time in his life and acted the fool. Personally, except for this huge thing, he is a great conservative. So what´ll it be, let´s punish him until hell freezes over, or a second chance. His boys and others are totally on his side, so maybe he doesn´t have to hide in a hole until the sinless say "enough".

The SC 1 congressional district may well be lost to the Democrat so please don´t demonize Mark Sanford. We have a runoff coming and Mark is best positioned to beat her. If I thought the other guy had a better shot, I would support him, but I don´t. Full disclosure - Mark was not my choice on Tuesday.

RE #8, Clinton is a dem. They have no morals or dignity so it doesn´t hurt them. The SC repubs should have been able to come up with an acceptable candidate other the Sanford, but I would still vote for him over a dem. I hope the voters won´t stay away from voting if he wins the runoff.

Add the name of Michelle Lynne (ne Robert) Kosilek to the list of modern phenomena the Founding Fathers would definitely not appreciate being blamed for. Little did they know what havoc they would someday wreak by adding the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution to prohibit “cruel and unusual punishment.” Now comes Kosilek, a convicted wife murderer doing life without parole. He/she is claiming that it would be cruel and unusual punishment to deny him/her a sex-change operation — excuse me, “gender-reassignment surgery.”Not to get too graphic, but Kosilek is begging for elective amputation of a body part.

Two very bad and extremely dangerous economic developments happened yesterday — and Wall Street appeared to miss both of them. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 40.86 points to 14565.25 after the Labor Department announced that the seasonally adjusted number of new jobs created in March was just 88,000 — far below the 190,000 or so Wall Street expected. The March figure was also less than one-third the number of jobs created during February. This led to the misperception that the job market tanked in March. It didn’t.

DENVER -- Two more men connected to a violent white supremacist gang are being sought in connection with the slaying of Colorado´s prisons chief, according to a warning bulletin that´s the first official word other gang members might be involved. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
