Audit faults Freddie Mac´s
oversight of mortgage servicers

Los Angeles Times, by E. Scott Reckard

At least eight big providers of mortgage customer service have failed to properly track and resolve serious complaints about servicing fraud, according to an audit of Freddie Mac, the home finance giant that has been propped up by the government since the financial crisis. (Snip) The audit report sheds a harsh light not only on the servicers but on Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Finance Agency itself, which it faulted for failing to identify the problems in its own examination of Freddie Mac. Great opportunity with this stock. Low was at 14 cents. Closed today at $1.08. 10K would have made you about 80K. May go much higher as it has been at 28$.

Fannie/Freddie have been trying to clean their act up for a couple years under recievership but leftist nags won´t leave them alone. they want them to eat underwater negative equity in houses and refinance underwater high interest loans.

Obama´s spending countless billions trying to recover home values by creating an artificial shortage of housing.First he cracked down on new home building then simply put warm bodies in subprime type houses. After 2008,the housing market should have been allowed to find it´s natural bottom.

Moscow - Russia on Thursday dismissed as "primitive distortion of reality", cynicism and double standards a U.S. Department of State fact sheet that called President Vladimir Putin´s comments on the crisis in Ukraine false. Moscow and the West are locked in a Cold War-style tug-of-war over Ukraine, where a regional parliament in Crimea on Thursday voted to join Russia after a pro-Western popular revolt in Kiev toppled a Moscow-backed president. With the document titled "President Putin´s Fiction: 10 False Claims About Ukraine", Washington has dropped diplomatic niceties and all but accused Moscow of lying about events in Ukraine.

We got in Monday morning, and the first thing we did was we came to the square, where so much of the story in Ukraine has been, and we just started talking to people. You want to make the most of the daylight. And you shoot all day long. Then we went back to where we were staying and started editing. Then we set up for some live shots and set up for the show, which is on live at 3 a.m. local time, 8 p.m. in New York. By the time you're done it's almost dawn and time to go back out. In a move that surprised even his most cynical critics, Gov. Corbett on Wednesday night forestalled an estimated $3 billion in cuts to food stamps in the state over the next 10 years. By doing so, Corbett became the first Republican governor in the country to prevent the cuts ordered by Congress, which is looking to slash $8.6 billion over the next decade to the food-stamp program, now called SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). The governor´s decision will preserve benefits for 400,000 Pennsylvania households slated to lose a monthly average of $60 to $65 each in benefits, amounting to $300 million a year,

Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis said Thursday that she would not shy away from being seen with President Barack Obama when he visits the Lone Star State next month. The Democratic state senator’s comments came two days after she secured her party’s nomination in the deep-red state — but lost a number of border counties, raising questions about her performance among Hispanic voters. (Snip) When the “conversation series” moderator, Texas Tribune Editor-in-Chief Evan Smith, mockingly covered his face to ask whether Davis would shy away from photographs with the president, Davis said, “No, I’m definitely not going to

E-cigarettes facing municipal bans and scrutiny by U.S. regulators received a new slap on the wrist from scientists: A report today suggests the devices may be a gateway to old-fashioned, cancer-causing smokes for teens. Youths who reported ever using an e-cigarette had six times the odds of smoking a traditional cigarette than those who never tried the device, according to a study published today in the journal JAMA Pediatrics. E-cigarette use didn’t stop young smokers from partaking in regular cigarettes as well. The global market for e-cigarettes may top $5 billion this year, according to Euromonitor International Ltd. estimates.

The United States has agreed to unfreeze a total of $4.2 billion in Iranian oil assets over the next several months. Joint U.S.-Israeli missile defense programs would be reduced by nearly $200 million under President Barack Obama’s fiscal year 2015 budget proposal, prompting concern from lawmakers who have fought to keep the critical defense programs fully funded. Israeli Cooperative Programs—which include the Arrow II, Arrow III, and David’s Sling missile defense systems—are slated to receive $96.8 million under Obama’s newly released budget proposal, a reduction of nearly $200 million from the previous year’s finalized levels. The funding dip hits as the White House seeks to significantly reduce the overall U.S. defense budget and enact severe cuts to the U.S. military.

Caracas, Venezuela - Thousands of Venezuelans mourned the passing of President Hugo Chavez on the first anniversary of his death on Wednesday, while National Guard troops fired tear gas and rubber bullets at anti-government activists who pressed on with street protests despite the commemorations. Chavez´s successor, President Nicolas Maduro, angrily announced that he would break off relations with Panama, which he accused of being a "lackey" of the US in what he has repeatedly called a conspiracy to topple his government through the daily protests that have left at least 18 dead since mid-February.

The restrictions are in addition to visa bans that have already been imposed on those considered responsible for human rights abuses and political oppression

Cummings charged that the way in which the proceedings were being conducted were “Un-American.” In apparent protest, Issa then walked out of the committee hearing. While making a statement before the committee, Issa stood up and asked Cummings to yield. “If you will sit down and allow me to ask a question,” Cummings insisted. “I am a member of a Congress of the United States of America.” “I am

We are embroiled in a global conflict, and the supposed “leader of the free world” is taking photo ops at a grade school, making statements about the invasion of Ukraine on a kids’ rug. Meanwhile, Putin incredibly denied that any Russian troops are in Ukraine, and somehow President Barack ‘I-call-the-Russian-invasion-an-uncontested-arrival’ Obama actually thought it was a good idea to set up a lectern on a grade school alphabet mat when the entire world is seeing the consequences of his weakness. Some say they don’t want to be made angry. Others say they don’t want to be traumatized. I don’t blame them for respecting the power of this film. “12 Years,” based on the 1853 memoir of a free man kidnapped

At Chipotle, guacamole costs extra - but it soon may not be available at all thanks to climate change. The Denver, Colorado-based chain of Mexican fast-food restaurants threatened to take the condiment off the menu because of the rising price of avocados. While the avocado crop is currently fine, scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory are predicting drier temperatures will lead to a 40 per cent drop in California´s avocado crop over the next 32 years. Most modern scientists agree that there is a direct correlation between the increase of droughts and global warming, according to Think Progress.

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers. As a U.S. senator, Barack Obama won $48 million in federal funding to help Ukraine destroy thousands of tons of guns and ammunition--weapons which are now unavailable to the Ukrainian army as it faces down Russian President Vladimir Putin during his invasion of Crimea.
