The Inscrutable Barack Obama
PJ Media, by Richard Fernandez

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 3/20/2013 2:25:07 PM

Caroline Glick describes President Obama’s trip to Israel as a “mysterious visit.” To her, the administration policy in the Middle East is a riddle wrapped inside an enigma. The is truth we don’t know why Obama is coming to Israel. The Obama administration has not indicated where its Israel policy is going. And Obama’s Republican opposition is in complete disarray on foreign policy and not in any position to push him to reveal his plans. Barry Rubin, also based in Israel, believes the president does have a long-term strategic goal.

Sure we know why Obama went to Israel...

Americans would raise hell if he simply went where he wanted - another golf outing...

It´s just a tad surprising Israel would let the jerk past customs there.

Obama is a dangerously naive neophyte playing a deadly game. His narcissism prevents him from understanding that he has no business being leading the most powerful nation in history and the last hope for peace in the Middle East.

The mystery behind L’Wren Scott’s tragic suicide deepened Wednesday, as the designer’s newly revealed will shows she wasn’t drowning in money woes when she took her own life last week — but was instead sitting on a $9 million fortune. Although reports indicated Scott’s design business, LS Fashion Ltd., was $5.9 million in the red, her will bequeathed her $8 million condo, which she owned under a corporate name, to the love of her life, Mick Jagger. The sexy ex-model also left the already ultra-rich Rolling Stones frontman — who had allegedly dumped her — a $1?million trove of other valuables. Her family,

Moscow’s annexation of Crimea was condemned worldwide, but some people in Alaska apparently are yearning for the days when they, too, were part of Mother Russia. A petition on the White House website created by “S.V.” of Anchorage is calling on Alaskans and others to "vote" for Alaska to secede from the U.S. and become a part of Russia. In less than a week, the petition, titled “Alaska Back to Russia,” has garnered nearly 30,000 signatures, though it´s unclear where they are from. “Vote for secession of Alaska from the United States and joining Russia,” the petition says. DETROIT -- The families of Detroit´s Brightmoor area are delighted that the day is finally approaching when bulldozers will arrive to level more of their neighborhood. After that, their community´s future will be like the cleared landscape - a blank canvas. For years, Brightmoor residents pleaded with the city to demolish vacant homes that scavengers had stripped of wiring and plumbing and anything of value. Some structures are already gone, and now officials aim to do much more, possibly tearing down as many as 450 empty houses each week across more than 20 square miles of this bankrupt city - a

An outbreak of measles in Orange County, California is the worst health officials have seen in two decades. Twenty-one county residents have been diagnosed with measles in 2014, including 7 who have been hospitalized, CBS Los Angeles reports. "It´s very contagious, and what we´re trying to do is prevent the exposure and spread," said O.C. Health Deputy Agency Director Eric Handle told the station. "The measles virus can cause inflammation in the brain that can appear immediately, or seven years out." Measles is a highly contagious infection that starts with a fever, cough, runny nose and pink eye before progressing to a rash

WASHINGTON -- The Secret Service sent three agents home from the Netherlands just before President Obama´s arrival after one agent was found inebriated in an Amsterdam hotel, the agency said Tuesday. The three agents were benched Sunday for "disciplinary reasons," said Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan, declining to elaborate. Donovan said the incident was prior to Mr. Obama´s arrival Monday in the country and did not compromise the president´s security in any way. Still, the incident represents a fresh blemish for an elite agency struggling to rehabilitate its reputation following a high-profile prostitution scandal and other allegations of misconduct. Nate Silver´s first electoral prediction at the new 538.com was that Democrats are likely to lose the Senate. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which exists solely to keep that from happening, quickly issued a memo hoping to undermine the charge, because Silver threatened to move perceptions of November from hard-but-doable to ugh-why-bother territory. Campaigns spend a lot of time and energy keeping donors, activists, and supporters in a very precisely determined zone, which we´ll call the "motivation" zone. All of those groups need to think that the candidate they´re supporting is on the verge of losing the race, at all times,

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has said that ´a trained ape´ could do a better job managing American interests in Afghanistan than President Obama. A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company

Okay, THAT was certainly embarrassing. At the end of a joint news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands on Tuesday, the applause for Barack Obama came from a grand total of one guy. One. After thanking the crowd twice for suffering through his boring, standard worn-out spiel, Obama looked around the room, expecting the usual fanfare and applause he receives from his loyal followers back home. It never came. Instead, the Leader of the Free World was met with one slow, awkward clap. Question: was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the house?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said the fault of struggling to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges didn’t lie with the faulty website, but with the people who weren’t “educated on how to use the Internet.” Explaining the reasoning behind the latest Obamacare delay, Reid said too many people just didn’t know to use their computer properly and needed more time. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the well-documented failings of the website that have embarrassed the White House for months. “We have hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up who didn’t get through,” he said.
