Obama´s limo BREAKS DOWN
in Israel: President´s car
fails to pick him up at
airport for historic first
visit - after driver puts

President Barack Obama´s historic visit to Israel this morning had an embarrassing setback when his armored limo broke down on the way to the airport. The custom limo was relegated to a pick up truck after the driver accidentally put gas in the engine instead of diesel. Mr Obama arrived in Tel Aviv Wednesday afternoon local time, and earlier that morning, the limo that was designated to his hotel was unable to move after the driver made the silly mistake. Local news reports allege that it was the President´s limo that was shipped over specially from Washington

Why didn´t he just install some green energy, like seaweed or put a windmill on top of the car. I´m confused. BO promotes that stuff for us.

Huge mistake, never put gasoline in a diesel. Major damage for sure.

Oh, well, it´s only money. More pain for taxpayers. Another "plus" day for the Dictator in grooming.

As much as I detest this Administration, saying that adding the wrong fuel was a silly mistake is misleading. It is REALLY easy to make that mistake. The diesel pumps and the fuel pumps are now sitting side by side in many stations, and if you do not focus, you can easily fuel the vehicle erroneously. Previously, diesel pumps were set aside and you could not make this mistake, But now ......... you sure can, and many probably do.
The only difference I noted was the tag color and of course, the small wording.

So if a pick-up was good enough for this trip, what do we need that intimidating, scary-looking black beast for anyway?

Does anyone recall the story about Bush 41 visiting a carrier off the East Coast and security protocol required that the limo be flown out first in order for him to ride the elevator from the Flight Deck to the Hangar Deck? I forget the details but it was really bizarre.

#5, all you say may be true HERE, but the POTUS´s limo was undoubtedly in the Diplomatic compound, under tight security and I somehow doubt it was an unmarked pump. I have been on many many Government sites where fuel is dispensed and the OSHA regs and the signage is comprehensive to say the least.

Why is this an "historic" visit? Because saying it´s his first visit to our best ally in 5 years is an embarrassment. It´s subtle but makes him appear to be a great man. How about "long neglected". Historic is a loaded word and makes him look good for something he should have done a long time ago.

A couple of photos of the Beast, and tons showing Bibi and the leadership of Israel welcoming Obama. Let´s not overlook what´s going on here. Romney promised to make his first foreign trip in 2013 if elected to Israel...Obama was re-elected and is doing exactly that. AIPAC at their recent conference called for Isarel and it´s "partners in peace" (Egypt and Jordan) to be exempted from the sequester cuts and included in the CR post March 31, and this trip is coordinated with its passage and signing by Obama. And the overwhelming percentage of American Jews who voted for Obama and those that did not are ecstatic about this trip and are primed to support and finance Obama´s 2014 Senate and House campaign push.

Let´s skip the trivial and instead focus on retaining the House in 2014, capturing the Senate, while pressuring Obama to act in Syria and Iran...

Reminds me of the horse person friend of my wife:
On her first trip to a horse show in their brand-new Dodge Cummins Diesel dually. Her husband told her to be sure she refueled from a ‘green’ hose…that that designates diesel.
She pulls into a BP station! All the hoses are green…but she didn’t notice. Fills up on unleaded…and gets just down the street when…total destruction!

BTW, Harriet, does "silly mistake" cover a writers, a staff, and editors who don´t know the fuel gets pumped into the fuel tank, not the engine?

I thought the pumps were manufactured so you couldn´t put one type of gas into a tank meant for the other - I know I tried it when diesel first came to where I lived back in the 80´s, and my daughter tried the same thing years and miles later when she was a new driver. The pumps aren´t like that in Israel? I´d think the problem and the solution were about universal...

For the first time in American history, non-whites will make up half or more of the next generation, likely pushing Washington toward a bigger government — and the GOP better tone down their anti-government rhetoric if they want to win them, according to a top polling outfit. At a briefing for congressional aides hosted by the moderate Republican Ripon Society, Pew Research Vice President Michael Dimock said that the trend among younger Americans is support for government programs and acceptance of Democratic Party policies.“Their tendency is more liberal, their tendency is bigger government,” he said of so-called “millennials” born between

With Hillary Clinton already locking up massive amounts of cash for a presumptive 2016 presidential run, members of the hard left may be looking for an alternative. Congressional Republicans, led by House Oversight Committee chair Darrell Issa, are planning another IRS coal-raking exercise for Wednesday, hauling the tax agency´s commissioner in for a hearing about the nearly year-old tea party targeting scandal. [Snip] An aide to one Republican committee member said Monday that the White House and the Treasury Department were already dangerously close to causing a constitutional crisis. ´They´ve blown off the subpoenas,´ the aide said, referring to legal demands the committee issued to the IRS on August 2 and February 14. ´If the DOJ keeps dragging its heels too, and can just get away with it,

Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term “homosexual” in its programming — advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a “pejorative connotation.” The online “media watchdog” contends that calling gay people “homosexual” is “a practice that’s quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the term’s often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality.” Fox News, they chide, “has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.” Buttressing their argument? WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney said Sunday that President Barack Obama is naive when it comes to Russia, has shown "faulty judgment" about Moscow´s intentions and could have done more to try to deter its annexation of Crimea. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. Romney did acknowledge that such steps may not have been enough though to hold back Russia President Vladimir Putin. "Had we communicated those things, there´s always

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,

First daughter Sasha Obama cut a stylish figure in jeans and shades as the Obama girls visited the Great Wall of China today. Michelle Obama, Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, were left alone to explore the Mutianyu section of the historical landmark in the northern Beijing suburbs though Chinese police officers looked on protectively. The three walked a stretch of the wall that looks out to a massive rock inscription on a hillside that reads in Chinese: ´Loyal to Chairman Mao.´ The country has been fascinated by Mrs Obama´s ´elegance´ during the weeklong visit to the country to promote educational

Most Supreme Court watchers are fixated these days on Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby—the important challenge to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate scheduled for argument Tuesday. And why wouldn’t they be? With its potent mix of religion, sex, Obamacare, and prayerful corporations, it’s the blockbuster case of the term. It is also a crucial test of Chief Justice John Roberts’s leadership on the Supreme Court. Just two years ago, Roberts cast the deciding vote to largely uphold the Affordable Care Act. While the country remains divided over whether he acted like a traitor or a statesman, all would have to agree

WASHINGTON — Spring break was never this dull. First Lady Michelle Obama’s kids finally hit the wall on their whirlwind visit to China, showing signs they’ve nearly reached their limit tagging along with mom as she visits site after site on what’s billed as a “person-to-person” tour. Accompanied by Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12, the first lady on Monday toured Xi’an, an ancient city in the ancestral province of Chinese President Xi Jinping. They inspected the city’s 600-year-old wall, a day after touring the Great Wall near Beijing. Photos show Sasha looking like she’d rather be back home with her pals than hitting the

"Never in my lifetime have I seen a law that is helping so many people be so vilified," Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) told a conference call on Friday. She talked about the millions of people in her state who are benefiting from the law that Republicans have tried to repeal 54 times. "This is a huge success, this law. I´m saying that. We had a terrible rollout, it slowed us up, but it´s all falling into place now and the Republican answer is very, very simple -- let´s repeal it and take away all these benefits from people. And that´s just gonna
