Losing Patience With the New Pope
Creators Syndicate, by Bret Bozell

Original Article

Many millions of Catholics around the world were joyous with the naming of a new pope -- a holy man from the Third World no less. Even in choosing his name, Pope Francis is emphasizing a devotion to the poor, and humility in his clothing and manners. The liberal media should be lapping this up. There was an accurate recounting of the global rejoicing, especially in Argentina. There were hopeful words about his pastoral modesty.(snip)the natural secular liberal nastiness toward the oldest Christian faith bubbled up in demands for "tolerance" and women´s liberation.

Comments:
The Leftist just can´t help themselves. They will call the Pope ´medieval´ but not Obama for holding the same ´policies.´

I knew it! The Cardinals should have chosen either Sandra Fluke or a sober, lean lesbian from China.

Actually the cardinals should have chosen Al Sharpton or Maxine Waters.

There´s an article on one of the Catholic blogs entitled The Anatomy of Sin.

The writer makes the point that the name-calling, ridicule, etc., are simply signs the sinner knows what he is doing is wrong. His "stinking thinking" is wrong.

Pray for them.

Amen, Mitzi! With Holy Week approaching, they need our prayers more than ever.

If a new Pope could do the impossible, say, make the sin of sexual deviency a sacrament of marriage, and they would still hate him. The modern world is saturated in sin. Any moral leader that means business is feared. The great modern reality shared by rich and poor - fear.

A true miracle has occurred. Right in front of our wondering eyes.
The new Pope gets it.
He owns a fundamental understanding of what Jesus came to teach us to do.
And he fully intends, by the Grace of God, to require the Church which he heads to follow him.
The media, of course, will be dismayed.
But the Catholics, now ... the poor in Spirit among them (you could look this up) will rejoice! The faint of heart will turn away. The cafeteria Catholics will give up in disgust. See the Parable of the Seeds for details.
But we may see a Church which does what it was intended to do in the first place!
Pray for Pope Francis. He truly needs protection from the evil one.

This Pope is going to show us how feckless American leftist "Catholics" are. For years they have criticized the church for not caring enough about social justice and the poor. Now we have a Pope who talks about little else, and the libs are searching for something else to complain about.

Reply 11 - Posted by: TunnelRat, 3/20/2013 11:02:44 AM     (No. 9234793)

Indeed, #3, the Libs have discovered (at long last) that the Pope is Catholic.

Wait´ll they find out about wild bears...

Matt Lauer, Donny Deutsch (who is he?) and Nancy Snyderman. Experts on everything. We lost patience with them long ago.

Judas Iscariot wanted the ointment that was used to anoint Jesus prior to his execution to be sold instead and given to the poor. This was because Judas was the treasurer and not because he cared for the poor. Times haven´t changed much have they?

Reply 14 - Posted by: shepsmum, 3/20/2013 1:39:52 PM     (No. 9235177)

Well, for heaven´s sake, Pope Francis has had more than enough time to change everything. Or at least abandon the medieval principles he and the Catholic Church insist on. I mean, it´s been a week, right?

"Dr." Nancy Snyderman is a thug. She´s a nasty, condescending woman who knows EVERYTHING. You don´t even have to ask her.

Sitting in his workshop in San Telmo, pencil in hand, goldsmith Juan Carlos Pallarols drafts one of his most meaningful works of art: a chalice that will be delivered to “Pope Jorge” on behalf of all Argentines. Pallarols knows that this is not just another piece amongst his many other works that have earned him the reputation of being one of the best goldsmiths in the world. This is special. “It’s a particular gift, it’s for a friend, for a good man, but this is not just a gift coming from me. It comes from the Argentine population,” he said, still moved by the news.

Deciding whether to approve the Keystone XL pipeline is surely one of the toughest challenges of Barack Obama’s presidency. He hasn’t made up his mind yet, of course. Or has he? Bloomberg reports that the Obama administration “is preparing to tell all federal agencies for the first time that they should consider the impact on global warming before approving major projects.” Up to now, under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), federally approved projects had to consider potential impacts like dangerous spills or air pollution, but not global warming.

Rome - The Vatican vigorously defended Pope Francis on Friday by seeking to discredit accusations that he failed to oppose and may even have collaborated with Argentina’s feared military junta during the so-called “dirty war” against left-wing activists. The Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, departed from his recent good cheer since the pope’s election to excoriate the criticisms in the press. He called the accusations against the former Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who served as a Jesuit provincial superior and then archbishop of Buenos Aires, stale and the work of

Finally, after a 12-year delay caused by opponents of genetically modified foods, so-called “golden rice” with vitamin A will be grown in the Philippines. Over those 12 years, about 8 million children worldwide died from vitamin A deficiency. Are anti-GM advocates not partly responsible? Golden rice is the most prominent example in the global controversy over GM foods, which pits a technology with some risks but incredible potential against the resistance of feel-good campaigning.

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
