Obama in Israel: ´It´s good
to get away from Congress´

Politico, by Josh Gerstein

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 3/20/2013 8:30:46 AM

JERUSALEM—President Barack Obama, who´s in the midst of a charm offensive aimed at Republican lawmakers back home, kicked off his charm offensive here in Israel by taking a shot at Congress. "It´s good to get away from Congress," Obama said to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the two men stood watching a military honor guard at the Tel Aviv airport Wednesday afternoon. The remark was audible on a live Israeli television feed of the ceremony. Netanyahu responded with a hearty laugh. Despite his off-the-cuff remark, Obama didn´t get away from Congress completely.

Comments:
What does he mean get away from them, he´s never around them! What´s surprising is he didn´t say anything worse. He´s such a loser. I didn´t know that disgusting pig Wasserman Schultz is there also.

OP, my sentiments exactly. He does no work, no governing, no planning, no strategizing, no creative thinking....what does he actually do besides spending taxpayer money on expensive vacations?

ANSWER: He allows Valerie Jarrett and his 60´s radicals in the Administration, plus his back-pocket DOJ and Agencies to run the country.

He has not permitted his name on a single piece of legislation except for ObamaCare, a disaster of monumental proportions.

To say it´s good to "get away" from Congress is laughable, pretending he´s exhausted from all the heavy lifting he ostensibly does.

I bet. Those Democrats in the Senate haven´t been very productive in the last 6 years have they? Failing to help with the budget, and now creating sequester.

I know, Dick Durbin said you didn´t really mean the sequester, it was a negotating ploy to fool Republicans, right?
Looks like it fooled the Democrats in the Senate too.

Yeah, those pesky Republicans in congress...Always wanting to talk business.

Obama didn´t run for the job of President, he ran for the position. All the perks and royal treatment. Lots of golf and hobnobbing with celebs, not boring meetings and negotiations. Better to issue royal, er, executive, orders and then wander off somewhere more fun, or to raise money.

Plus, it gets Moochelle off his back. She can travel around and shop on the taxpayer´s dime, have big parties and enjoy the adoration of the old media.

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) said that the 14 Republican senators who have vowed to filibuster upcoming gun-control legislation “don’t care about protecting people in America from people who would do them harm with a gun.” “It’s disgusting and unconscionable,” Wasserman Schultz said on Piers Morgan Live last night, also calling it “immoral” and “cowardly.” Wasserman Schultz told Piers Morgan that “we have background checks in our grasp,” adding that such a big step seemed unthinkable to her after Gabby Giffords was shot in 2011. President Obama’s 2014 budget calls for a trillion dollars in new taxes, almost twice as much as previously thought, The Washington Examiner has learned. “Of the more than $1 trillion in new taxes, about $800 billion is raised through the individual income tax system, about $125 billion comes from new excise taxes — including new taxes on tobacco and financial companies,” a source familiar with the president’s budget explained. “The remainder comes from reverting back to the 2009 estate tax parameters and other miscellaneous tax increases.” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., described the budget as a

The most ominous trend in America´s employment data is not the number of people who have left the labor force, but the number who are now working either for the government or in the as-yet-still-private sector of the health care industry. Health care has boomed under Obama, according to data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. When Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, there were 13,436,700 jobs in the private health care industry; by this March, there were 14,516,600. Over the past four years, America has created 1,079,900 new jobs in the private-sector health care industry.

Just over a week after sequestration took effect, the State Department allotted more than $700,000 for gardening at a U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Brussels, Belgium. On March 11, State awarded a contract to provide gardening services at an “official residence” of the U.S. Mission in Belgium. A State Department spokesperson confirmed to CNSNews.com that the contract is for Truman Hall, a historic property that serves at the residence of the Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The current U.S. ambassador to NATO is Ivo H. Daalder, who was appointed by President Barack Obama in May 2009.

With the passing of Margaret Thatcher, we’ve lost not only one of conservatism’s heroes. We’ve lost one of the greatest figures of modern times, a woman who battled incredible odds to become prime minister, and then turned her country around after decades of decline. I had the honor of working for Lady Thatcher in her private office from 2000 to 2002. Like anyone who has had that privilege, I had the opportunity to observe firsthand how fully she dedicated her life to serving her country. She was a true leader in every sense of the word, and

Anti-Muslim views have often been promoted by Republican law-makers and GOP political operatives. In a recent survey by the Arab American Institute, Republican views toward Arab and Muslim-Americans were viewed with the greatest negativity by an overwhelming majority of those surveyed. In return, Muslims expressed unfavorable views towards evangelicals, neo-conservatives and the Republican Party. Sadly, only a small percentage of Muslims polled had favorable opinions of Republicans following the Bush Presidency. As expected, Democrats were viewed more positively by the Muslim community than Republicans, which highlights some significant parallels between the GOP’s questionable approach

Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
