Barack Obama to be met with pomp in Israel but low expectations

| When Barack Obama and his 600-strong entourage touch down at Israel´s Ben Gurion airport at midday they will be met with tepid political and diplomatic expectations but spectacular pomp. One thousand American and Israeli flags are already fluttering in the streets of Jerusalem. Billboards boast of the "Unbreakable Alliance" Mr Obama is hoped to cement during his first visit to the Holy Land as president. Preparations have been under way for weeks. On Monday, helicopters hovered above Jerusalem´s Givat Ram airfield for more than three hours, rehearsing the flight President Obama will take from the Tel Aviv airport.

Comments: I couldn´t get past the "600-strong entourage." Four days, 600 minions.

600 is a small town. It´s a mob. It´s a herd. It´s sequester Obama style. It´s not an entourage.

This story and others like it the last couple days shows that even the LSM is losing faith in Obama even though there was no reason to have any in the first place, outside of this false narrative that Obama is a fraud world healer.
This country´s international ratings are taking a dive because of Obama weak leadership on everything and the strange alliances he´s been crafting since being in office.
People are used to the US coming through at crunch time and that ain´t happening under Obama. the reason is Obama is singularly focused on the destruction of this country while Rome burns around the world.
People are war weary and rightly so but simply surrendering in Afghanistan will only encourage rogue people around the world to take action. The taleban has their calendar marked to when they can start brutalizing again. The only solution to most problems is conservatism and Obama´s not about to apply that to problems.

The 600 person entourage is actually down from 614 people due to the sequester "cuts".
(However, it´s still above last year´s entourage of 560 people)

Barry has a "600-strong" entourage?
In 1959, America´s 34th POTUS, General of The Army Dwight David Eisenhower, made a Free World tour that lasted twenty days, covered 22,000 miles and visited eleven nations on three continents...His official party that included his son and daughter-in-law, Major John S.D. King Obama knows that he will get the "royal" treatment in Israel. It is a perfect "set-up" (like a Chicago pay-to-play scheme) for a desperate country (Israel) who needs whatever support the US can give as an ally. It is so sad that Obama (the deceiver in chief) who is in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood will be given such a gracious reception but truly deserves what#5 said.

Republican congressional candidate Mark Sanford slammed the 2009 federal stimulus package that went to Clemson University’s wind turbine effort--where Democrat rival Elizabeth Colbert Busch is employed--as bad public policy and a poor return on the taxpayers’ investments. By Sanford’s math and reading of Obama administration stimulus allocation figures, the Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility received $43 million and “created or saved” an estimated 134 jobs. When divided, the numbers calculate to more than $320,000 per job, Sanford said. Sanford’s comments came during a visit to a Mount Pleasant branch of Lyerly’s Cleaners, where he carried in a load

A coral reef in Northern Australia severely damaged by warming seas has managed to completely heal itself in just 12 years, stunned researchers have found. The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader

Anyone who remembers the halcyon dreams of the 1990s, of civil society spreading the world over, heralding a new peaceful, global millennium, must marvel at the path the young 21st century has taken. Even those who paid attention to global Jihad before the millennium could not imagine how vulnerable the West would prove in the coming, wildly asymmetrical war. Those who, over the course of the last 13 years, have awakened to the ever-growing danger of Islamism and to the astonishing inability of decent people--Muslims and non-Muslims--to effectively oppose its aggressions, owe themselves a brief lesson in cognitive warfare, and

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
