Republican Establishment
Misdiagnoses Party´s Ills

Politics: Listening to enemies´ advice is seldom wise, but that seems to be what´s behind a new self-dissection by the Republican Party establishment. Autopsies make for a strange cure. We´re not in the business of providing consultation to political organizations, but to the extent the GOP is the vehicle for ideas that can save this country from expanding government, some observations are in order. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus´ new "Growth and Opportunity Project" describes itself as "a top-to-bottom tuneup" for the party. But it smacks more of juggler

"A presidential nominee such as Carson would do far more to attract nonwhites than the $10 million the Priebus report proposes spending on black and Hispanic outreach — including the insane idea of kowtowing to the NAACP and similar race-based leftist bastions."

The Republican "establishment" is, at best moderate, and at worst, liberal lite. They´re far more interested in maintaining their perks and getting invitations from the democrats than in doing what´s right for this country. They´ve done a great job of cementing the party in permanent minority status.

In order to get anything done, conservatives have to fight both the progressive dems and the establishment of their own party. No wonder we are going down the tubes.

By helping the liberal Democrats pass a big amnesty for 11-20 million illegal aliens along with a "path to citizenship" that will eventually award the liberal Democrats with 10 million or so new foreign born voters will not flip very many Hispanic votes to the Republicans and surely will not assist them in winning future national elections.

It´s fool´s gold to believe that Poor people, citizens or aliens, who have been promised "free" healthcare and open access to the US social welfare benefits and services programs by the liberal Democrats will vote for the Republicans who openly want to limit access and do away with those programs, because the Republicans caved and helped the liberal Democrats pass another amnesty for 11-20 million illegal aliens.

The mainstream propaganda machine is in ecstasy watching all of this GOP self-flagellation. Normally they have to pay people like David Brooks to make public confessions. The sooner the GOP goes away, the better.

Sen. Ted Cruz compared America under President Obama to a corrupt dictatorship in which the chief executive decides which laws to follow and which to ignore. He cited the Obama administration delay of the employer mandate under the Affordable Health Care Act. He said the directive to ease deportation of immigrant parents and not to defend the federal ban on marijuana in states like Colorado and Washington that choose to legalize it were other examples of the president’s “consistent pattern of lawlessness.” “If the president of the United States can simply pick and choose which laws to follow… we know

You can feel the charm when you watch her operate in person, that Sarah Palin. You don’t expect it, but it’s there – the awkward mix of pseudo-authenticity and charisma, the smooth way with a room full of reporters, the way she just carries on, regardless. Me, I was taken aback. She’s practically my new bestie, now. Squeezed my hand, called me “honey,” even stopped to squeeze my shoulder on her way out and thank me. We had a wee chat and a laugh. Palin was here Friday for an early breakfast event to promote her new series on a fairly obscure

While MSNBC has struggled mightily with scandalous outbursts from its hosts Alec Baldwin, Martin Bashir, and Melissa Harris-Perry, “Hardball” host Chris Matthews keeps pounding away at allegedly racist Republicans who want to “erase Obama from the history books.” On Thursday night’s “Hannity,” Sean Hannity asked MRC president Brent Bozell “why no scrutiny” for the wacky accusations of Matthews? He began his Tuesday night show wailing about the horrific consequences if Republicans advance in the 2014 midterms: MATTHEWS: ...a return to something like Jim Crow days, redolent of all the old anti-black gimmickry of that time -- literary tests and poll taxes all

Senate Democrats on Thursday blocked a Republican attempt to restore military pensions cut in last month’s budget deal, denying a vote that would save up to $20 billion by closing a loophole that allows tax refunds to go to illegal aliens. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.) called an effort by Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R., N.H.) to repeal the military retiree cuts “fiddling while Rome burns.” Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) “filled the amendment tree” on Thursday, ending debate and blocking any Republican amendments to a bill to extend unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. DENVER -- Food stamps for a pot brownie? It´s an urban myth in Colorado, but state lawmakers want to make sure that doesn´t happen. A bill proposed this week by several Republicans would add marijuana dispensaries to liquor stores, gun shops and casinos as places where recipients of public assistance payments and food stamps can´t use their electronic benefits cards to access cash. There haven´t been any reports of public EBT cards being used at marijuana dispensaries. But lawmakers say pot shops should be added to the law to make clear it´s not legal. That’s the gist of a new documentary called “The Mask You Live In,” by feminist filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom. The focus of “The Mask” is the male population’s place in and relationship to American culture. Predictably, judging from the trailer and the film’s enthusiastic reception in left-leaning media, traditional masculinity is a leading cause of murder and mayhem. The trailer opens with commonly heard “macho” phrases like, “Be a man,” “Man up,” and “Don’t be weak,” as taken

The Constitution deserves its hallowed place in the nation´s consciousness. Yet too often, those who invoke it completely disagree on what it says. How is it that the most important document in our government could be so ambiguous? How could it be that more than three hundred million Americans rely upon nine oracles to interpret it for us? The answer, ironically, is because we let the government hijack the Constitution. It will remain that way unless the states take it back. Party affiliation has largely ceased to matter in the government. What now matters is whether it´s "our guys" in power. In

Europe is set to suffer more severe droughts due to climate change and increased water use, scientists have warned. By the end of the century, southern Europe in particular will have 80 per cent more droughts than at present. New research by the European Commission predicts that water shortages will be made worse by population growth and increased demand. Drought can have a serious economic and social impact and is thought to have cost Europe over €100billion (or £83billion) in the past three decades alone. Researchers used computer models to predict which parts of Europe could be worst hit by increasing temperatures and intensive
