Hacking Hillary
and Sid Blumenthal

American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

Sidney Blumenthal is a senior consigliere in the Clinton political machine, renowned as a ruthless hatchet man. His emails were hacked by an entity known as "Guccifer" and a tranche of emails was distributed to selected media over the weekend, according to thesmokinggun.com. It strikes me as odd that none of the confidential memoranda have been published yet by any of the media to which they have been distributed.

One possibility (I hope, I hope) is that the materiel is so extremely damaging to Hillary that the media who received it just don´t know how to handle it. If that´s so, then they will have been giving Hillary et. al. a behind-the-scenes chance to comment. This, in turn, would have led to dire threats of legal actions from Hillary´s team of high paid lawyers. Why else the silence?

The media is sitting on the e-mails for the same reason that the Los Angeles Times is still sitting on a 2003 videotape of Obama lavishing praise on Rashid Khalidi.

If the hacker truly want this information made public, he/she would have sent it to Drudge or Lucianne or someone who would have released it to the public. The MSM will deep six it.

Hopefully there are a few patriots who will resent being hung out to dry in benghazi. They need to come out before this horrid excuse for a woman gets her cankles in the ring.

Big labor is threatening to strangle the liberal San Francisco Bay Area in order to protect the principle that government workers should be insulated from the effects of rising medical costs and enjoy generous pensions to which they contribute nothing. Led by the ultra-leftist SEIU, the biggest union representing workers at BART and a progressive movement powerhouse, big labor orchestrated the Bay Area organized left to march demonstrate at BART headquarters in Oakland Thursday night. (snip) about 400 BART workers and their supporters, including actor Danny Glover, chanted for union solidarity

A few days prior to the 2012 presidential election, in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie gave Obama a long, drawn-out hug and silently nodded his head in agreement to every word spoken by the always-opportunistic president.(snip)lately the Garden State governor has been the pure embodiment of Alinsky rule #12, which says, "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." What´s making the whole thing so suspicious is Governor Christie´s verbal rancor is mostly being directed toward a specific political adversary of the president, the outspoken Tea Party favorite, Rand Paul

Is the grievance industry trying to create racial Shroud of Turin? The Smithsonian wants to display the hoodie worn by Tayvon Martin the night he was shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. Really, is this what we need now? A modern-day abomination: a Turin Shroud for race-mongerers? Will this become a place of pilgrimage for people looking for reasons to hate?

Shortly after the Sandy Hook one Elementary School massacre in December 2012, I took to these pages to gently chide the NRA´s Wayne LaPierre for his proposal to install an armed policeman in every school. Informed consent is a big deal in health care. And it should be. (snip) Once a woman says she wants an abortion, medical standards and norms change. If the process of getting informed consent involves making the unknown, known, the process in the abortion industry is all about unknowing. When I regrettably and wrongly had an abortion many years ago, no one at Planned Parenthood explained anything to me -- and I mean nothing -- about my baby´s development. No one even showed me a picture of a 3-month old baby in the womb.

San Diego mayor and veteran Congressman Bob Filner is a serial molester of women who enjoyed immunity from exposure by his friends in the media who "pretty much knew" about his abuses but chose to ignore them as a non-story. We know this because a brave member of the San Diego media crowd has admitted it.(snip) Scorn is the appropriate response. The San Diego media deserves a big helping of humiliation over covering this up. There is no profession more conscious of prestige than the media. Just look at all the awards they give each other.

As a black conservative tea party activist, I am extremely excited about Bill O´Reilly´s recent series of commentaries and TV shows addressing the hypocrisy and exploitation by the American race industry that has and continues to devastate the black community. O´Reilly boldly called out all of the usual suspects: Sharpton, Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus and Obama. Eric Holder and others on the left have been whining and arrogantly scolding us saying that we need an honest discussion about race in America.

So their murder rate is about 1.0 per 100,000, or the same as Sweden´s. A murder rate of 1.0 is in the same league as the Europeans who like to call us gun-crazy cowboys. Remember when scientists and other truth-seekers used to get all riled up about the way the Catholic Church treated Galileo? The outcry was not over the fact that Galileo was a "peer-reviewed" researcher, and therefore beyond question. Quite the contrary: the argument was that, from the point of view of the quest for truth, no one, including the representatives of official orthodoxy and authority, ought to be regarded as beyond question. In the Michael Mann lawsuit against Mark Steyn and National Review, it is the "award-winning researcher" who is joining the fight for Church orthodoxy

Money can´t buy the kind of political boost Huma Abedin is receiving. Like her mentor Hillary Clinton, the stand-by-your-man strategy will be her gateway to widespread popularity and respect. Don´t feel sorry for the Democrats over losing a former rising star politician like Anthony Weiner, whose future is so hopeless that even the New York Times says it´s time to go. They have gained an even more promising candidate for high office. Huma Abedin is better-looking, better spoken, and more appealing than her role model.(snip)Although raised in Saudi Arabia, Ms. Abedin was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a natural born American.

Much has been made of Obama´s impromptu crashing of the press briefing at the White House the other day to weigh in yet again on Trayvon Martin´s death. The reception of Obama´s discussion reminded me of the movie The King´s Speech, where the man who would be king of England had to give just one good speech, so all of England would feel comfort. As in the movie, I chuckled at the big deal made by "reporters" that the man who is supposed to be a great orator and "Leader of the formerly Free World" did so without his "blankie,"

The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.

American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.

[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."

The administration has popped the bubble of hope some small business had that switching to part-time staff would let them escape the high costs of Obamacare. The Small Business Administration on Thursday created a website to explain to businesses that the government will simply tally up the number of part-time employees firms have to determine if enough hours have been worked to essentially create a "full-time equivalent." Some smaller businesses had thought that if they could get under the 50 full-time employee cap that activates Obamacare by cutting full-time workers and hiring more part-time workers they would escape
