Portman is a father. Often perceptions change when a person is closer to an issue. I knew nothing about disability issues...until I had a family member with disabilities. And my attitudes changed.

The folks that look like idiots in this are those who attack Portman and his decision to change his position. Good people can disagree on things. This desire to kick out everyone who disagrees on anything is a losing proposition for the GOP.

Some of us think Portman was the one who attacked us. He could have just supported his son personally and not demanded a change in the law. Those who support marriage are not now entitled to defend it because of his personal views? Or perhaps we should be persuaded instead by that expert on marriage, Hillary Clinton?

That isn´t what is happening Rabbit. "Tolerance" does not mean throwing out the moral compass because some senator´s son is gay. This is the left´s attack on Christian morals and traditional marriage. They couldn´t care less about "inclusiveness", or "tolerance".

#1, moral flexibility leads to the down fall of a society.

I have children. I love my children, but I have not and will not support their bad behavior and bad choices are still bad choices, which I do not support. That does not mean I still don´t love them. Portman´ flip flop shows a lack of moral fiber, and a disturbing moral flexibility.

This is why judges and juries aren´t allowed have a personal interest in the cases which are heard in their courtroom -- it makes for bad decisions.

IF men married men; women, women then we would be way short of little bunnies hopping around. Easter symbol would need to be changed for the children. BUT WAIT there will be no children, right? At least not from that particular couple. So why marry...because you love someone or to procreate. Stand on principles dammit.

Up until the 1990´s homosexuality was classified a mental illness, until the homo-nazis demanded it be revoked and "normalized," which it isn´t.

Hollywood and Washington DC are rife with homo-nazis seeking to destroy the moral fabric of this nation. If homos demand protected class status, then there must be a Federal law requiring all homos register with the Federal Gov´t, just like the disabled and minorities must do.

It is one thing for Portman to let his son´s homosexualism influence his accptance of sexual deviancy - although he didn´t seem be influenced when other fathers had to cope with the same choice.

But it is quite another for the political party of ethics and morality to openly support his sudden embrace of homosexualism.
