Layoffs looming at airport control towers across North Texas

| Arlington - Charter, cargo, corporate and student pilots depend on the extra eyes inside the control tower at Arlington Municipal Airport to keep them safe. But federal budget cuts could shut down the tower in April, leaving pilots on their own. Flight instructor Ryan McGinnis is worried about the impending closure. "Anything that hinders safety is obviously a concern," he said. "It cost somebody a lot of money to make, and it doesn´t make any sense to close it now." The FAA, the state, and the city spent more than $25 million in renovations at the airport, including building the tower.

Comments: Two things are interesting in this article. First, the sequestration begins next month to effect all of US, as 0bama will be going to California to get contributions for his endless dRATS campaigning. Second, more businesses than the tower being shut down are also going to suffer [the little guys].

Obama claims he doesn´t have to authority to move money around to cover the phantom sequester cuts but it´s pretty funny how he targets Texas for air tower cuts.Border patrol agents are next on the chopping black.
As we´re seeing in the EU,world leftists consume enourmous amounts of cash which don´t do a damn thing to improve their countries economies.
The EU was supposed to be a pre cursor to some kind of one world government and all the countries over there are now paying the price. This is why we can´t give in inch on protecting our sovereignty from world dictators.
Obama´s using government agencies to create an EU type, heavy oversight government here.As a result out deficit continues to balloon out of control.Detroit is symbolic of what happens when you give self rewarding liberals the keys to the treasury.

Junior´s AF1 will eventually land in N Texas when he travels fishing for dollars. All along the watchtowers there will be no controllers or at least fewer controllers. Perhaps this might be the cause of our plane going down with Jr on it....like the plane crashing out at DFW years ago EVERYONE in the area remembers that. Even commuters on the nearby highways lost their life. This is the imbecile who swore to protect US and ALL its citizens. How´s the skinny one doing at his job?

There are nearly 30,000 people employed as Air Traffic Controllers.
There are an average of 5,000 airplanes in the air across the US at any given moment.
Do the math.

"There must be some way out of here" said the joker to the thief "There´s too much confusion", I can´t get no relief Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.
"No reason to get excited", the thief he kindly spoke "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we´ve been through that, and this is not our fate So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late".
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

On March 6, 2013, all Federal workers in DC were told to stay home because of a snow storm that didn´t come. All buildings were locked, hundreds of thousands of pampered princes stayed home, and aside from a few tourists who were disappointed, no one in the entire country missed them. Lets make every day March 6!

7 air traffic controllers are potentially affected. Which says to me they have 3 two-man shifts and a supervisor. Seems to me that instead of laying off people, they could close the airport in the wee hours of the morning and increase the time the supervisor mans the equipment.
This is like being back in Roman times and being told that there is a shortage of stones and that some of the stones from the aqueduct are needed for other projects. Instead of taking stones off the top course of the waterway, Obama wants to pull out the keystone of the arch.

Shanghai & Hong Kong - China said it was mobilizing resources nationwide to combat a new strain of bird flu that has killed six people, as Japan and Hong Kong stepped up vigilance and the United States said it was closely monitoring the situation. All of the 14 reported infections from the H7N9 bird flu strain have been in eastern China and at least four of the six dead are in the financial hub of Shanghai, a city of 20 million people. The strain does not appear to be transmitted from human to human but authorities in Hong Kong raised a preliminary alert and said they were taking precautions at the airport.

Tokyo - Haruhiko Kuroda, the new governor of the Bank of Japan, delivered on his promise to drastically change Japan’s economic policy to end a long, debilitating era of deflation. "Same-sex couples should have the right to civil marriage. Our time on this Earth is limited, I know that better than most. The most rigorous study to date of how much it costs to care for Americans with dementia found that the financial burden is at least as high as that of heart disease or cancer, and is probably higher. And both the costs and the number of people with dementia will more than double within 30 years, skyrocketing at a rate that rarely occurs with a chronic disease. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
