Colorado governor to sign gun controls
Associated Press, by IVAN MORENO and KRISTEN WYATT

Original Article

DENVER—Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will sign legislation Wednesday that sets limits on ammunition magazines and expands background checks for firearms, marking a Democratic victory in a state where gun ownership is a treasured right and Second Amendment debate has played out in the wake of two mass shootings. The measures proposed are some of the strictest gun laws in the nation,

Comments:
Magpul Industries has already released a statement that if Gov Higgendoofus signs the bill, they will begin to relocate operations outside of Colorado. Another website mentioned that if, under this bill, you die, your heirs cannot "inherit" your 15-round clips and suggest that you set up a trust to own your weapons and ammo. But I heard Gov Doofus is gonna get state aid to have a marijuana grower or maybe a gay marriage retreat house/caterer buy the Magpul property so all those high paying jobs will come to Colorado.

The democrats are going to try to pass as many anti-gun laws as possible, regardless of the Constitution, in a shotgun attempt to get something to stick as a precedent.

I´m a native Coloradoan and I hate what these damn liberals have done to my state. And no matter how many emails you send or how many times you protest, they don´t listen...they don´t care what their constituents want. A recent Denver Post poll showed over 70% disapproval of these laws.

They will make an awful lot of instant felons with these gun laws. Everyone I have talked to will not comply and why should they?

These laws go against the Constitution and they are unenforceable.

Bring on the lawsuits!

This is the law the outlaws magazine clips that could be modified. Since almost all could potentially be modified, it effectively outlaws all of them. Dems say that is not their intention - LOL.

I certainly agree with #3. Today 62 of 64 county sheriffs say they will not enforce the laws beause they are unenforceable. Colorado was Calfornicated several years ago. This used to be a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family.

Is anyone here from Colorado? I´ve spent a fair amount of time there. Outside of Aspen, the other ski towns, and the elitist snob liberals in Denver (The Denver Post is their party organ) Colorado is a very free market, libertarian place. Why are these laws being passed despite being very unpopular with the majority (that´s what the polls say)?

Selfishly speaking, in 15 months it will be my pleasure to exit Colorado. I hope to get out before liberals here tack on a confiscatory exit tax.

#10...the question should be, why are the majority of Colorado residents against these gun laws yet stupid enough to elect those passing the laws? The Liberals know that the opposition is gullible, dumb and lazy.

Obviously, to the Liberals, they sat behind their computer whining and crying instead of getting out and into the face of the lawmakers.

So where does the real blame lie? If you want your Constitution then get out there and fight for it. If you provide every excuse you can think of to not do it then shut up and practice being a slave.

Sounds like there are still some in whose blood courses the real ethos of early settlers of Colorado, who appreciated the value of the gun. It´s horribly obvious that interlo[o]pers from the once great golden state have diluted the strong Coloradan stock with their weaselly liberal left coastism.

Good answer #13, though now I feel embarrassed I asked. Why, after all, did our "Dear Leader" get re-crowned despite the fact that he hates America and is trying to destroy it? I think I have the same problem many others throughout America do. I don´t want to believe that people are really so stupid they can´t see what a horrible creature that wannabe emperor is. But the evidence sure seems to suggest otherwise.

The gig is up for democrat hickenlooper who has built his political career as a maverick who is unconstrained by partisan politics. Translation, he´s a liberal who posed as a moderate to further his political ambition. I thought he might veto (with fanfare) the magazine size bill so he could grandstand as a centrist, and ask for a couple of amendments, but no. Apparently Colorado and the country has turned so far left, hickenlooper can afford to drop all pretense that he´s a middle of the road guy.

Reply 20 - Posted by: Quaestio, 3/19/2013 9:08:47 AM     (No. 9232644)

It´s mean to vote for Republicans. To justify such a vote you might have to understand the implications of laws or economics. That´s hard, some of that math stuff. So they vote for the people who say nice things and get all the good media coverage. Today´s Democrats are following, in Borg-like fashion, the statist-totalitarian playbook. But very few people are aware of all the laws and regulations that are being written. So to them, things just happen. And when it gets bad enough that the media has to report on it, they blame Republicans.

Black conservatives out

During this year´s Conservative Political Action Conference, the American Conservative Union paraded its star lineup of African Americans who share their political philosophy. They were featured as a “stunning array of speakers from the African American community.” But in reality, they are not known by black America, with the exception of Dr. Benjamin Carson and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The problem that conservatives face when featuring these people is that even though they are black, they are not in tune with African Americans. They do not share the struggles, frustrations and everyday problems of the community they claim to represent.

When Democrats in the Texas House met in late January to elect Rep. Yvonne Davis of Dallas as their leader by the slimmest of margins, she promised to listen to their voices and not to unelected outsiders, specifically, Houston Democratic benefactor Steve Mostyn. Almost immediately, the phone of the successful plaintiff´s lawyer lit up with text messages from lawmakers lamenting the remarks of the woman they had just elected as their leader. After all, Mostyn and his wife, Amber, have infused $25 million into Democratic efforts in the past two election cycles. Surely, some respect was owed.

Your medical plan is facing an unexpected expense, so you probably are, too. It’s a new, $63-per-head fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions under President Obama’s health care overhaul. The charge, buried in a recent regulation, works out to tens of millions of dollars for the largest companies, employers say. Most of that is likely to be passed on to workers. Employee benefits lawyer Chantel Sheaks calls it a “sleeper issue” with significant financial consequences, particularly for large employers

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
