| The much-heralded ferry service between Oakland and South San Francisco — launched just nine months ago at a cost to taxpayers of more than $42 million — is taking on water fast. The service, which operates seven trips each weekday, carried an average of just 131 total riders a day in the last week of February. That’s less than a third of the ridership that officials were counting on during the ferries’ first year on the bay. And yet, rather than retrenching, the ferry operators have big plans for expansion. You can find out about those here.

...and that is nothing compared to the South Bay´s Valley Transit Authority. With a reported $420M per year budget, they get 5% of their revenues from fares. This despite counting the moderately ´successful´ CalTrain service between SF and San Jose. Can´t we have an ´open and honest´ discussion about what these really are??? GSE´s to provide high salaries, outrageous overtime multipliers, and other-worldy benefits to Dem voters?

Near the end...
The South San Francisco line was never expected to be a moneymaker, or even to break even. Even with the ferry authority´s optimistic projections of 100,000 riders a year, the line would still need to be publicly subsidized to the tune of $47 a ride.
The Cyprus banks only rob you once. This could go forever. Then there´s the new high-speed rail....

S.F. is going to spend $7,000,000 of taxpayer dollars to fund 700 free bicycles to be stationed at their BART stations so commuters who want to can just take a bike and ride from station to station. This of course is an attempt to clean up our already clean air. Do the math, that`s comes out to $10000/bike. This is how psycho these enviro`s have become.

I thought there were more than enough fairy lovers in San Francisco to make this fly.
Proper marketing requires that you "brand" this fairy stuff.
Make this a coming out LGBT fairy service.
It´s a transgender transportation statement to ride that fairy service in public view.
Once there´s some cachet, some panache, some elan involved...
all the fairy loving elitists won´t be able to resist a show of solidarity.
After all, this is really a political fairy.

Trenton, N.J. — A new report shows New Jersey´s county jails are clogged with people who can´t afford to post their often-nominal bail. The report to be released Monday by the Drug Policy Alliance shows 4 out of 10 county jail inmates have been granted bail but can´t afford to post it. The report, which analyzes the state´s jail population, finds up to 1,500 people could secure their release pending trial with $2,500 or less. Kathleen Sausa, 42, told borough officials in early 2011 that she was pregnant with twins, according to the lawsuit she filed Monday in Superior Court. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
