After reading about this event in several different articles, I´m having a hard time feeling ´´sympaty´´ for anyone involved.

I have seen this in my own town too many times. Kids -- 14, 15, 16 -- partying all night with no parental involvement. Lots of ´´hookups´´ and using alcohol and drugs as an excuse to have sex with anyone you want.

I have known girls tell me that they woke up after a night like that and knew they had had sex, but honestly didn´t remember and had no idea if it was conscensual or not, or who the boy was (or boys were). And they were out the next weekend for another round.

A society that has done everything to remove God from the schools and fathers from the homes is getting exactly what every ounce of logic and reason says we will get in these cases.

I truly believe the moral decline in this country will be even harder to reverse than the dismal economy.

It´s interesting to note who it is that is holding CNN accountable. It´s not a bunch of self righteous right-wingers this time.

I hope that Crowley and Harlow are fired for this.

You mean somebody actually saw this on CNN? I didn´t think they were around anymore.

The rapists were found guilty. And the young people in the videos who cheered them on and/or laughed about the incident afterward were accessories to the crime. And the media people who are trying to drum up sympathy for these criminals deserve censure. This entire incident shows all to clearly how decadent this country has become since the 60s. We are living in corruption the likes of which has been rare since the fall of the Roman empire. To paraphrase the prophet Elijah, when he rebuked the Israelites for vacillating between following God or the gods of the pagans, it´s time to make a choice, America.

The one reason CNN was so sympathetic is because one defendant was Black. That I truly believe is the one and only reason.

Agreed # 1, these boys lives are ruined for behavior that was going on a long time before cell phones & I-pods to capture the moment. Long ago, when I was a girl, there were names for girls that "partied", none of them flattering, whether being said by boys or other girls.

After this circus & the judgement by society of the boys, does she get a pass? Will her parents let her out to party soon this was not a one time deal? Her life is as ruined as the boys, & not because of one night. But she´ll be free to "party on".

Another boy happened on the scene, saw what was going on and walked away. He didn´t think raping a drunk girl was rape. "It wasn´t violent" he said. Teenagers have no clue of what virtue is.

CNN won´t see anything wrong with their pathetic performance.

Thank you #2 - I went and read the article, it was very good. One of the things that struck me in the article is that we have through media and social pressure managed to make drinking and driving socially unacceptable. But we have not managed to make taking advantage of impaired individuals socially unacceptable. I find the outrage against CNN to be very odd.

Is anyone surprised that CNN would take the rapists side? Not me. It´s one of their core principles.
