Donald Trump Just Gave A Nonsensical Speech, And Even Conservatives Were Dumbstruck

| Donald Trump gave his highly anticipated speech at CPAC Friday morning, and all anyone is talking about now is how confusing and terrible it was. Trump said he was upset that President Barack Obama did not return his calls about a free ballroom he offered to build. He said that he offered between $50 million and $100 million to the White House to build it but he never heard back. He also made a strange statement about how he wants the U.S. to go back to Iraq to take some oil.
|
Comments: He is such a dope and I have no idea why he was invited. Is this the face any Republican, conservative or moderate, wants to represent us publicly?

I posted when I first heard Trump was to speak that if I had been planning to attend I would consider asking for my money back because of the unserious circus he would bring. Someone remarked on my post that they couldn´t see how a 15 minute speech by anyone should keep me from going. I guess I´m vindicated by this. It´s so depressing to me that Obama is so horrendous, yet, except for maybe Ted Cruz, our side doesn´t seem to have a clue how to combat him. Rubio did say it well, though. We don´t need to moderate our positions. The idea is America and we just need to stand by that conviction.

Just listened to Donald Trump´s speech from Real Clear Politics and suggest above do too...
His point about the tent for a dinner party at the White House was that it was embarassing and a waste of money... What is so hard to understand about that?
His main point was that America needs Leadership!
You that don´t agree are welcome to throw stones my way too...

It wasn´t so much a speech as an Update from The Donald on a variety of things on his mind.
The Business Insider is a left leaning business news and information outlet, IMO. A review of this young Brett LoGiurato´s recent articles show him to report on everything Left and dump on everything Right. See for yourself... http://www.businessinsider.com/author/brett-logiurato

There is hardly any substance to this article at all. Even more astounding is that is at the top of the page today as a "Must Read".
You don´t have to subscribe to Trump´s style, but when he said "We´re run by either very foolish or very stupid people," (which was not quoted in this article), he was right. He also rightly criticized Karl Rove, when he stated, ""When you spend $400 million and it´s a failure, and you don´t have one victory, you know there´s something seriously, seriously wrong." That wasn´t quoted in this pathetic article, either.
FTA: "He also made a strange statement about how he wants the U.S. to go back to Iraq to take some oil....I say we should take it and pay ourselves back,"
What is "strange" about that? I completely agree with Trump on this.

Yes, The Donald is an oddly mixed bag.
But he´s been the only one with the guts so far to state that amnesty is suicide for the GOP. Given that´s where they are headed, he´s made the most important statement at all of CPAC.

Very disappointing as a "must read" because it´s a total, tiny hit piece and distortion of what Trump said. I found his entire almost 15-minute speech and listened. It made sense to me, seemed heartfelt and his main point was we needed to start making things again - I found nothing to disagree with. So the snark backfired because I went and heard the man in his own words and now I´ll be more skeptical of Business Insider and certain people here who maybe still love Romney and RINOs too much for the good of our country.

Last year Donald stirred the birth certificate kettle of rotten fish until the stench tinged the nostrils of the right people and an even "faker" version of the genuine article was produced by the fakir in chief.
People with respected knowledge in the area of fraudulent documents pronounced the Trump induced joke as fake almost before the sunset on the first day of its birth.
Donald, having received his ego fix for the day, crowed far and wide about having brought about the disclosure of the ´real thing´, and possibly ended for ever any chance of bringing to light the massive fraud that surrounds the existence of one Barack Barry Soetoro Thomas Wood Hussein Obama.
Trump, who is somewhat of a modern day P. T. Barnum, could have done some good had he used his sizeable audience and financial assets to shed light on the inconsistencies of the document that his challenge had brought forth. The problem with doing that is he would not have been able to pat himself on the back numerous times before the news cycle expired.
The end result was VJ, BHO, and the amateur forgers played him like a fiddle and he proclaimed authenticity and legitimacy for the worst of the forgeries -- just what they wanted.

Citizen Donald WAS the first with network access to speak out questioning the validity of Obamao´s birth certificate. He raised hell in an otherwise numb and dumbed down media marketplace of ideas. And, most media droids, all of the socialist/commie newscasters, simply would not even ask questions about it. Not even after Sheriff Joe’s committee released brilliant forensic information supporting the falsity of the certificate. It was, and still is, a violation of the code of "omerta", the sacred code of silence that both wise guys and news guys live and die by. Like when longtime CBS newsman Bernie Goldberg, got hit, taken off the net by mafia hitman, Dan Rather. Face it, the birth certificate is off the table for all but a few contrarian heroes. The rule of silence prevails at the risk of career and life. So, Donald really did a big one when he brought this up. You do not hear him talking about it now. Excellent odds he and family were threatened, that he was ordered to shut up on this precarious subject. So now he is just talking silly to take the heat off his early, heroic citizenship. Now, he´s maybe protecting himself and family from the premature death list. The Donald has genius, but even for Donald, truth-going is tough out there.

Thanx, OP, for bringing us a six para article from a leftist rag, and the four comments which went with it. Of those comments, two were by David Freddoso, a disappointed good guy. [Much like David Stockman. another disappointed good guy who did a 180 on same sex marriage when he found out his son was a...homosexual.]
The other two comments were from a guy who writes for the LV Sun, and a chap named Jon Favreau.
LoGiurato, Ralston, Favreau, and you have made your points. We are enlightened.
Trump, neither a "dope" nor a "buffoon," is one of us -- a man who would like to see Obama removed, China defanged, and the U.S. restored to a position of honor in the world.

So Trump just wants to go over to Iraq and steal their oil? He´s nothing but a pirate in a business suit, but most of us already knew that before he opened his cake hole at CPAC. And Zippy didn´t return his calls? Awwww. Well, that´s one thing I admire about the Resident who´s probably jealous of DT´s effrontery.
There were a couple of impressionable regular participants on this news forum who were passionately hoping that the tawdry character Trump would enter and win the GOP presidential primaries. (Heaven forfend!) As P.T. Barnum once said about suckers, "There´s one born every minute."
There´s nothing about "The Donald" that impresses me in the least. He´s loaded past the gills and all the way to the concave portion of his skull with an unjustified self-regard that smells like
One question: Who in the hell invited DT to the CPAC get together? He knows nothing that´s useful or in the least sense worthy. Like a back alley wino loaded with Thunderbird and trying desperately to keep a firm hold on the spinning ground, CPAC needs a good healthy purge.

Please listen to the speech when commenting not just this read the hit peace. Yes, he is selling the Trump brand in the process, I guess it is in his blood, he also makes some great points in the process. 1 country leadership is just plain stupid 2 Arabs and Chinese and others are running circles around our decision makers 3 Solving the economy and going back to 3-4% a year growth solves all budget problems and social problems. 4. We are sitting on energy treasure bigger than Russia or Arabs or anybody. Remember "stupid" governor from Texas and "stupid" Sara Palin. #31, No, this is not the "church of Bushes". In fact, most folks here are tired of the Bush family and their globalist views.
At any rate, Trump has his problems. He is only human. He never claimed to be perfect. He just doesn´t care what anyone thinks of him because he is confident in himself. And yes, he does tend to fall into "stream of consciousness" speeches. But that doesn´t make him a "bufoon". I am no fan of Trump, but I also do not appreciate the snarky snipes at him either. As if all of you who are attacking him are so perfect. I doubt he said anything wrong. Just as 95% of the time Palin never says anything wrong. But the media and other detractors automatically do everything in their power to isolate their target and ridicule it so people automatically think the worst. That is what this article is doing too.

Eliana Johnson reports that four Republican members of the Senate Judiciary — Jeff Sessions, Chuck Grassley, Mike Lee, and Ted Cruz — are calling for transparency from their GOP colleagues in the “Gang of Eight” that is drafting immigration reform legislation. In a letter to John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, and Jeff Flake, the four Judiciary Committee members express concern that an immigration reform bill will be rushed through Congress without proper oversight in the form of hearings and robust debate. The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Marvin Horne, a 67-year-old raisin farmer in Fresno, Calif., was fined almost $700,000 for refusing to surrender control of much of his harvest to the government committee in 2002. Horne, who has been growing raisins for more than 40 years,

There are many who scoff at Andrew Cuomo’s chances in a presidential primary campaign, but I am not among them. His name is an iconic Democratic brand, he’s forceful on the stump and a prodigious fund-raiser. Besides, somebody has to win the nomination. Of course, there are hurdles. Saint Hillary is gearing up to run, and there will be a scrum among contenders, probably including Vice President Joe Biden, competing just to be Clinton’s top rival. The scenario, then, is daunting but doable — or at least it was,

Historian James Thomas Flexner referred to George Washington as "the indispensable man." Americans all know he was a general, but have you ever wondered what grade of general? How many stars did Gen. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,

They´re trying to determine whether or not Murdock, the former director of player development,

Imagine the pitch to a History Channel executive for the smash hit The Bible. Here’s one scenario: Producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett: “Hi, we want to produce a story that appeals to all age groups. It’s has everything: love, lust, greed, war, self-sacrifice and redemption. It’s called ‘The Bible.’” Executive: “Could you repeat that? You said ‘The Bible’?” RD and MB: “Yes – we want to retell the Bible for this generation. And we think we can make money doing it. We’ve done a lot of market research —there is no competition out there.”

Since the Shermans of General Patton´s Third Army crossed the Rhine on March 22, 1945, there have been American tanks in Germany. No more, as John Vandiver of Stars and Stripes reports. The U.S. Army’s 69-year history of basing main battle tanks on German soil quietly ended last month when 22 Abrams tanks, a main feature of armored combat units throughout the Cold War, embarked for the U.S. The departure of the last M-1 Abrams tanks coincides with the inactivation of two of the Army’s Germany-based heavy brigades.

Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

“Nice puff piece on San Francisco’s Trash Inspectors” in the Atlantic, one of Ace’s co-bloggers quips. “I can’t quite put my thumb on why California has a debt issue. It couldn’t be paying people to do stuff like this can it?” The piece highlights — I take it back, praises — nanny-state intrusiveness to the nth-degree: To help improve the city’s landfill diversion rate, Slattery and his crew pound the pavement, both in the early morning and in the evening, keeping tabs on what’s being thrown out and educating people about the three-bin system.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explained to the Women in the World summit in New York today that the clock is turning back for women in America. Clinton praised her own mother for helping empower her to success and marveled at the opportunities that her own daughter Chelsea has pursued. But Clinton warned that there is still so much to do to promote women´s rights in America. "As I look at all these young women that I am privileged to work with, or know through Chelsea, and its hard to imagine turning the clock on them," Clinton said.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Get ready for the last straw. First, though, I´d like to suggest that anyone reading this column in a local newspaper or news site pat the editor on the back for publishing what in our neo-medieval world of fear amounts to a forbidden column. Yup, I am about to say something about the Great Barack Obama Identity/Eligibility Scandal again. I know that this is one rich and urgent topic that doesn´t see the light of day in certain so-called news outlets -- and I say that from the experience of watching my own syndicated columns

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

SANFORD - Trayvon Martin´s parents have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount believed to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed. Their attorney, Benjamin Crump, filed that paperwork at the Seminole County Courthouse, a portion of which was made public today. In the five pages of the settlement that were available for public review, the settlement amount had been marked out. Lower in the agreement, the parties specified that they would keep that amount confidential. When asked during an earlier interview whether the amount was

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for
