4 Reasons To Ban

Drone War: The attorney general claims the president has unilateral, secretive authority to fire missiles at Americans on American soil. Congress must disabuse him of this insane notion. Targeting U.S.-born al-Qaida cleric Anwar Awlaki was the right move. He clearly was an enemy combatant posing an imminent threat. But Awlaki was hiding in Yemen. Capturing him in that mountainous Islamic country was next to impossible. The commander in chief had no choice but to take him out with a Hellfire rocket. If Awlaki had been hiding in America, it would have been different. U.S. authorities have arrested, convicted and locked up

The attorney general claims the president has unilateral, secretive authority to fire missiles at Americans on American soil. WOW

Where´s that in the Constitution or Bill of Rights? What elitist law school endorses that idiocy?

Other despots have also secretely killed their own citizens: Iran, Iraq, Russia, Chine, N. Korea, Cambodia, and numerous other nations.

Does that bode well for this country? Not really. It´s time to impeach and rid the country of this evil.

The Gov´t secretly killing its own citizens!!! WOW

America needs to wake up.

Awlaki was in the US for a long time. They did not arrest him. They invited him to lunch at the Pentagon.

Just How Obsessed Were the

As Rich pointed out below, this morning’s political talk shows were amazingly obsessed with the news that some of Chris Christie’s top aides appear to have been involved in causing a serious traffic jam on the George Washington Bridge, between New York and New Jersey. It was indeed something of a slow news week, but the past seven days saw terrifying advances made by al-Qaeda in Iraq, the 50th anniversary of the War on Poverty and Republican talk about how they’d like to address the problem, the release of an important account of how the Obama administration handled national security,

Lone Survivor is an excellent war movie: intense and fast-paced, if a bit too graphically violent for my tastes. But who am I to complain? War is hell, and a war movie that aims for authenticity probably ought to show a bit of hell, even if it makes us squirm. Having said all that, I’m going lodge a minor criticism–and you may want to stop reading here if you haven’t seen the film and want to avoid a small spoiler. The movie’s title, of course, is its own kind of spoiler. If a story about four SEALs on a special-ops mission in

The Obama Administration’s $5.8 trillion of big government deficit spending has caused the United States to suffer an “internal devaluation,” as American worker wages after inflation were forced down in each of the last five years. American competitiveness increased by over 10% due to worker sacrifices, but all the benefits flowed directly to corporate officers and financial speculators. When the President recently lamented, “The combined trends of increased inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream,” he could count on the unwavering support from Warren Buffett, who was the last year’s biggest dollar gainer with a $12.5

Despite all that, Sarah Palin still brought her brand new TV show into the belly of the beast Friday in California. Echoing past economic promises of “green shoots,” “five million green collar jobs,” and “recovery summer,” President Barack Obama said during his Saturday weekly address that 2014 will be a “year of action” on the economy. “This will be a year of action. I’ll keep doing everything I can to create new jobs and new opportunities for American families – with Congress, on my own, and with everyone willing to play their part,” said Obama. Obama’s latest economic pivot comes on the heels of a dismal Friday jobs report that shows the U.S. labor force participation rate has contracted to its lowest rate

House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte plans to hold a hearing in the first half of the year to explore online sales tax legislation, advocates say. Supporters and opponents of online sales tax proposals are focusing their lobbying energy on Goodlatte (R-Va.), who has released a set of seven principles that an online sales tax bill would have to meet in order to be considered by

The flick, which is based on a true story about a Navy SEAL team´s mission gone wrong in Afghanistan, earned the second-largest January premiere in history behind Cloverfield´s $40 million in 2008. The Peter Berg directed movie stars Mark Wahlberg and originally bowed in two theaters over Christmas. Disney´s animated Frozen dropped to number two, earning less than half of what Lone Survivor made with $15.1 million, bringing its total gross to $317.7 million. If President Obama wants to reduce income inequality, he should focus less on redistributing income and more on fighting a major cause of modern poverty: the breakdown of the family. A man mostly raised by a single mother and his grandparents who defied the odds to become president of the United States is just the person to take up the cause. "Marriage inequality" should be at the center of any discussion of why some Americans prosper and others don´t. According to Census Bureau information analyzed by the Beverly LaHaye Institute, among families headed by two married parents in 2012, just 7.5%

He cited the Obama administration delay of the employer mandate under the Affordable Health Care Act. He said the directive to ease deportation of immigrant parents and not to defend the federal ban on marijuana in states like Colorado and Washington that choose to legalize it were other examples of the president’s “consistent pattern of lawlessness.” “If the president of the United States can simply pick and choose which laws to follow… we know

Most government scandals involve the manipulation of the system in obscure ways by people no one has ever heard of. That is why George Washington Bridgegate is nearly a perfect scandal — because it is comprehensible and (as they say in Hollywood) “relatable” to everyone who has ever been in a car. This is the reason this one is not going to go away so easily, even if one accepts the contention that Gov. Chris Christie had nothing whatsoever to do with it.(snip)Journalists know the Obamans. In 1994 or early 1995 the still unknown Barack Obama sent his editor at Times Books, Henry Ferris, the first two-thirds of his memoir Dreams from My Father. He told Ferris that to complete the book, he had to return to Kenya to do some research. The evidence strongly suggests that Obama went not to Kenya to do that research but to the local library to do some borderline plagiarizing. In the way of background, Barack and Michelle Obama visited Kenya in the summer of 1992 and married in October of that year. There is little dispute about the timing of

Washington - Just days after dismissing two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing questions over the use of Superstorm Sandy relief funds. CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used those relief funds to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family. The news couldn´t come at a worse time for the scandal-plagued Republican, who is facing two probes into whether his staff tied up traffic near the country´s busiest bridge to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse his successful re-election bid.

Earlier this week, there was a spring in conservatives’ step. That was because Chris Christie was in deep doo-doo. His career seemed to be imploding, over Bridgegate. Conservatives hadn’t been so happy since the Obamacare rollout (which wasn’t that long ago). The end of Christie’s career would not be a good thing — for New Jersey, for the Republican party, for conservatism, or for the country. He is a valuable conservative, one of the most talented politicians in America. We are lucky to have him on our side — general side. Lately, I have been more and more impatient with 100-percenters —

Before Chris Christie’s first scandal devolves into an obsessive quest to prove who knew what, when, it’s worth pausing to appreciate the wonderful, quintessential New Jerseyness of the incident itself. What happened, roughly, is this. On August 13, Bridget Anne Kelly, one of Christie’s three deputy chiefs of staff, sent an email to David Wildstein, a Christie confidant serving as an executive for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls much of the transit infrastructure of northern Jersey. Kelly said that it was “time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee.” Some speculate that the precipitating

With media attention focused on Chris Christie and Bridgegate, it was easy to miss a more important Washington story last week. The other shoe dropped on the Obama presidency. Still battered at home by the ObamaCare debacle and the permanently sluggish economy, the last thing the White House wanted was bad news on foreign policy. But that’s exactly what it got, and then some, thanks to the shockingly scathing book by Robert Gates. The former defense secretary offers the most devastating critique to come from an Obama insider.
