Sources: Olbermann´s inability to get
a job cited in Current TV settlement

Politico, by Dylan Byers

Original Article

Keith Olbermann has settled his $50 million lawsuit with Current TV, bringing an end to the almost year-long legal dispute over the outspoken host´s dismissal from the liberal news network. The terms of the settlement, which was reported earlier this week, were not released. But two sources familiar with the negotiations now tell POLITICO that during the mediation stage, Olbermann´s legal representatives cited his inability to get a job at another network -- a move one source close to the negotiations interpreted as an effort to gain sympathy for Olbermann. "One of the cards his people played was hardship,"

Perhaps Olbermann could team with another charmer, Barry Bonds, and launch a sports talk show.

This man HAD a good job. Prime time. and he used it to belittle, harass via media, bully, and worse, anyone that did not share his viewpoints. He was a disgusting host who in my opinion acted like a cretin. He isn´t worth 50 cents, much less $50M. A part of his program nightly was the 5 WORST people. He should have put his name in each of the 5 slots. SNL is parody, but this man viciously attacked all those who he disagreed with. Not a fun person to watch, which I only did for a very short time. Hope he stays off the air and gives a non-partisan host an opportunity.

Dan Patrick was Olbermann´s co-host on Sports Center for years, he never mentions him and as far as i know I never heard him as a gust on Patrick´s show either. I have never heard DP say anything bad, but not having him on as a guest when he has dozens of friends calling all the time speaks volumes about what DP thinks of Olbermann.

What´s most amusing is that the second biggest boor in public life sued the biggest. Too bad they didn´t duel and fire, accurately, at the exact same split second. The world would have been a better place if they had. I´d be willing to wager that The World´s Worst Lover® didn´t get anywhere near $50M in the settlement. I´d be shocked if he cleared $2M. As another has said, he´s not worth $0.50. Nonetheless, he might still be suffering from the MSDNC 8PM Weeknights Curse that fouled the pugnacious Ed Schultz´s cup of meat today. Special Ed got kicked upstairs to the 5-7PM slot on Sunday. To him that´s a step up. Idiot.

As for Olbermann, I hope he extracted enough simoleons from the Gorebot to pay for his ED/PE medication. Several of his dissatisfied high and dry sackmates compared notes and agreed that he--how can I put this delicately?--lasted about as long as a lit Black Cat firecracker. Two jerks, a quiver, and happy snoozes, Mr. Cornell Ag grad. What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

On March 20, the Washington Post published an article by Steven Mufson and Julie Eilperin, the import of which was that Koch Industries is the driving force behind the Keystone Pipeline. The article, based entirely on a six-month-old report by a far-left group called the International Forum on Globalization that I demolished last October, was headlined, “The biggest lease holder in Canada’s oil sands isn’t Exxon Mobil or Chevron. It’s the Koch brothers.” The piece’s point was summarized succinctly in a quote by a spokesman for IFG: “IFG’s intention is to demonstrate the Koch-Keystone connection.” I critiqued the Post story

The April 29th deadline has not yet been reached, but it may be said with confidence that the initiative by Secretary of State John Kerry to revive the ‘peace process’ between Israelis and Palestinians has already reached its final destination: failure. The failure of this initiative was obvious from the beginning. To everyone except, apparently, Kerry himself. This reality lent an element of low farce to the entire proceedings. By now, it should really be obvious to any serious observer that there is no chance that the Israeli-Palestinian negotiating process will produce a comprehensive peace between the two sides. There are two core

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. There’s a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. There’s a less big but

MOKPO, South Korea -- The aroma of one of South Korea´s most popular delicacies is regularly compared to rotting garbage and filthy bathrooms. And that´s by fans. A White House adviser had to walk back the oft-repeated myth that women make 77 cents on the dollar that men make after being questioned about the figure during a conference call Monday. While detailing executive actions President Obama plans to take Tuesday regarding equal pay for women, Betsey Stevenson, a member of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, said very defiantly that despite women contributing 44 percent of their household incomes, they continue to make less than men. Obama has declared Tuesday "Equal Pay Day" to highlight his administration´s focus on that issue. “They’re stuck at 77 cents on the

Earlier Today I reported that health insurance premiums are showing the sharpest increases perhaps ever according to a survey of brokers who sell coverage in the individual and small group market. The April survey shows the largest acceleration in small and individual group rates (for renewing health plans) in any of the 12 prior quarterly periods when the regular analysis has been conducted. The average increases for the present quarter are in excess of 11% in the small group market and 12% in the individual market, where consumers purchase

For people who become paralyzed after a spinal cord injury, the condition is usually permanent, but a new study suggests that zapping the spine with electricity during physical training could help paralyzed patients regain movement. Researchers applied electrical stimulation to the spines of four people who had been paralyzed for more than two years. All four patients were able to flex their toes, ankles and knees again, and their movements improved further with physical rehabilitation, the research showed. If proven effective in more people, the stimulation therapy could ultimately change the prognosis for people living with paralysis, researchers say.

But Paul is not likely to be fazed by criticism from Cheney, for several years ago the Kentucky senator was pushing the conspiratorial notion that the former VP exploited the horrific 9/11 attacks to lead the nation into war in Iraq in order to benefit Halliburton, the enormous military contractor where Cheney had once been CEO. It will be weeks before the final results of Afghanistan’s presidential election, held Saturday, are announced. And the winner won’t take office until June. Nevertheless, the voting, the third of its kind since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, has already provided a new and exciting political snapshot of a country emerging from four decades of turmoil. The first feature of this snapshot is that a majority of Afghans have adopted elections as the best means of choosing and changing governments.
