Yesterday we watched Senator Claire McCaskill’s fantastical view of the world. Today, I offer you the perpetually unhinged Alan Grayson, who gives us his take on Paul Ryan’s budget: “In one case after another, you look at his principles, you look at his vision, and they’re a nightmare for America. He wants Americans to work until they die, he wants poor people who get sick not be able to see a doctor, not to get the care they need, not to get better, he wants them to die,

Comments:
What boggles the mind wasn´t that this guy was elected, but that he was RE-elected.
Staff has split headline.

That´s not true, Alan.
Paul Ryan doesn´t want sick and poor people to die.
He just wants sick people like you to die.

My understanding from other Democrats (Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi etc.) is that Republicans like Ryan want ALL poor people, especially children, to die. I think Grayson misspoke.

For decades, democrats have used these worn-out phrases to define political opponents:

Want sick people to die. Want to starve children. Want to destroy the environment. Want old people to eat dog food. Want everyone to have an assault weapon. Want to poison the water. And on, and on, and on.

Getting rather old and tiresome, but the media still runs with it.

It´s bad enough that Grayson says this stuff but it is tragic that so many people believe it.

I´ll be the first to admit that Conservative policies can be difficult at times, maybe even harsh occasionally. That´s the goad and price of responsibility and in the long run is FAR, FAR better than the coddling of progressives that may sooth those that struggle with pretty words but does little to actually help and in the long run trap them in a life of victim-hood and dependency.

It is amazing to me that, after being lied to for decades, that people cannot tell that the progressives just offer empty promises. Conservatives offer a path, rough and steep at times, that leads to a much better life of pride, independence, and success. What we want is for all Americans to join us because, in the end, it´s the only viable way to go.

Leftist laws, under the guise of helping people, do more harm than good and they are never called out on them.

Obamacare laws taking effect such as taxing all medical devices, wheel chairs, crutches, orthodontic braces, eye drops and even increased costs for veterinary care for our pets. Doctors will be leaving in droves and senior citizens will not be able to find a doctor due to medicare payments so low that many physicians will not accept older patients. Social Security payments have been taxed since Clinton. The death tax is back. Children were forced into crummy schools when Obama took away the school voucher program in DC.

Global average temperature has been flat for a decade. But frightening myths about global warming continue. We’re told there are more hurricanes now. We’re told that hurricanes are stronger. But the National Hurricane Center says it isn’t so. Meteorologist Maria Molina told me it’s not surprising that climatologists assumed hurricanes would get worse. “Hurricanes need warm ocean waters,” but it turns out that “hurricanes are a lot more complicated than just warm ocean waters.” Computer models have long predicted nasty effects from our production of greenhouse gasses. But the nasty effects have not appeared. As far as hurricanes, more hit the United States

Blue-collar workers, especially those connected with labor unions who mine coal, drill for oil and gas, build pipelines, and toil in all those related areas of genuine economic activity, must be appalled. Barack Obama won re-election largely on the willingness of those types of unions to put aside their doubts about his real commitment to economic growth and to turn out by a two-to-one margin for him. That was decisive in states with large industrial unions: Ohio (18 electoral votes), Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes), Iowa (6 electoral votes), New Hampshire (4 electoral votes), and Wisconsin (10 electoral votes).

Like the proverbial monkey typing for infinity and getting Shakespeare, Mayor Bloomberg’s obsession with reforming New Yorkers’ health has finally produced a brilliant ad campaign. Posters are popping up in subway stations and bus stops giving statistics about teen pregnancy that show cute little kids saying things like, “Honestly, Mom … chances are he won’t stay with you. What happens to me?” and “I’m twice as likely not to graduate high school because you had me as a teen.”

A meticulous new analysis examines the benefits of government-administered socialism among a representative cross section of individuals. It is an insightful departure from the usual studies of socialism that analyze only collective benefits to society using statistics about such things as income quartiles and poverty levels. The new study is 27 pages and can be accessed as a PDF file via this link. As its author, I´ll summarize the results here. Julia, the president´s comic book heroine, is used as the baseline.

Pravda, Guns & America (AT, Jan. 11) quoted a Russian who advises: Americans: Never Give Up Your Guns, citing the bloody and tragic result of the Communists´ confiscation of arms after they came to power in 1917. The quotation has been echoing around the Internet, so here are more ringing defenses of the importance of the right to bear arms to the cause of liberty. Another Russian, the great writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn, wrote about the Soviet Union in The Gulag Archipelago (p.13, note 5): And how we burned in the camps later,

We are being played; it´s time we learned the game. Conservatives have their Constitution. Progressives have their Narrative. The current battle for America is between these two concepts, and each side uses different rules to fight it. One set of rules is consistent with an unchanging objective: limited government and individual freedoms. The other side´s rules are as fickle as their goals, which are never fully disclosed beyond the equivocal references to fairness and hyphenated forms of justice.

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU), an imprint of the UN, is holding its World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) from December 3-14, 2012. The stated purpose of the WCIT is to update the UN´s "global treaty" on telecommunications to deal more directly and comprehensively with the internet. Knowing who controls the UN, it is not hard to see that a primary aim of the updated "treaty" will be to give credence to the regulation and monitoring of online activity in ways that are desirable to the (authoritarian) majority of member states.

The United States will not reverse its descent into the abyss of financial and societal bankruptcy until the current political and governing establishment is replaced. That will not happen until the American people, who have been deliberately ill-educated and deceived, experience first-hand the early stages of the turmoil and suffering extant in Europe and elsewhere. While professing to care for the interests of the average person, the underlying motivation for the vast majority of the governing class or Establishment is first and foremost self-aggrandizement and the acquisition of wealth.

Were the average Republican asked for a succinct statement of his views on taxation, he or she might respond thus: “U.S. tax rates are too high for the world we must compete in. The tax burden — federal, state, local, together — is too heavy. We need to cut tax rates to free up our private and productive sector and pull this economy out of the ditch.” This core conviction holds the party together. Yet today the leadership is about to abandon this conviction to sign on to higher tax rates or revenues, while the economy is nearing stall speed.

Kathryn Riffenburg decided on a closed casket for her baby´s funeral. She didn´t want her family to see what whooping cough, her son´s first illness, had done to 9-week-old Brady Alcaide. The nearly forgotten disease, which has in recent years afflicted thousands of Americans, left Brady´s tiny body swollen and unrecognizable. So his mother dressed him in a white baptismal suit and hat and tucked him into a tiny white casket. Students at three Dearborn elementary schools received the flyers. A large number of Muslim students attend the schools. Democrats are facing a senior problem that could get even worse this year. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican. That spells trouble for Democrats, who are already facing

LONDON - Peaches Geldof, the wild-child second daughter of concert organizer Bob Geldof who worked as a model, a television presenter and a fashion writer and filled the pages of British tabloids with her late-night antics, has died at age 25. There was no immediate word on the cause of her death at her home in Wrotham, Kent, southeast England. Her father said in a statement Monday: "Peaches has died. We are beyond pain." "She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever."
