OP has it pretty well. The worthwhile members of Congress could [maybe] fill a Prius hybrid.

But per the headline, it´s clear that many of the people Dingell has been speaking to have too-high an opinion of Congress.

I can think of several examples that I would rate ´much below´.

1: Several of them likely ARE child molesters.

2: Nearly all of them are "child molesters" in a fiscal sense, stealing the futures of all children to pay for government programs today.

Dingell should have left eons ago. He is part of the problem.

There are web sites that provide the addresses of sex offenders that live near you. There should be the same for congress critters, state and federal. Sex offenders and politicians are both dangers to their communities and should be identified as such.

Dingell is the face of what is wrong with Congress. We need term limits.

Dingell has been in the House for 57 years! That is obscene! I can´t believe what I´m reading! Is that correct? No one should serve that long! That someone can be a congressman for that length of time is why things are in the mess they are in! Can you imagine all the goodies he´s been able to purloin or all the waste he´s been able to fritter away?

57 years(!) - one year for every state in the union.

The delusion that most politicians are ´public servants´ is in their mind, not mine. They mostly serve themselves.

With due respect to #9 and the others who have wished for term limits, we already have term limits. The Founders provided us with term limits.

Representatives get 2 years, Senators get six. They get one term. Voters have to send them back for them to be there longer.

To flip that back to a more-direct term-limits slant: we can impose term limits every 2 years or six. We just have to man up, stand up, step up, and shoulder the responsibilities the Founders gave us as a part of their chosen term-limits method.

I don´t want to delegate that responsibility to a law on paper. We know what that´s worth -- don´t we?

Surely the voters in his state should feel sorry for the old bastoom and put him out to pasture. Somebody primary him.

Dingell molested the American people he was part of the "Keating" 5 that along McCain tookpaid vacations ,golf trips when they were on the Senate banking and finance committee in 1986 when there was a crisis then. They all said they knew nothing and were not accountants.But they wre supposed to be the watchdogs.And they called Dillinger a criminal.
