| Several anti-Islamic ads featuring the photographs and quotes of Osama bin Laden, the Times Square Bomber, and the alleged Fort Hood shooter have caused outrage in San Francisco after their release today. The ads, which will run for the next month, are featured on 10 buses in the Bay Area and have caused a stir in the community, sparking a fierce debate between free speech and hate speech. Hate speech? Who are they claiming is being hateful? Are they implying that the people who posted the ads are being hateful for posting what Bin Laden said? Or are they calling Bin Laden´s words hateful and thus condemning the Muslim? And since when is religion a "race"?? How can it be a "racist" campaign when nothing refers to race at all?? This is about different religions and their views--not race.

Does it help to know that the AFDI´s executive director is our own Pamela Geller? In her words: ´´The purpose of our campaign is to show the reality of Jihad, the root causes of terrorism, using the exact quotes and text that they use.´´
Inevitably, Pamela is being slandered as an ´Islamophobe´ and ´anti-Muslim activist.´ And the ´´hate speech´´ that has the ROP apologists´ knickers in a twist isn´t the quotation itself. Instead, it´s the fact that the Hamas line was quoted at all.
In other words, calling attention to hate speech constitutes hate speech, while an exhortation to murder doesn´t.
What a marvelous modern age we live in.

The SF Board of Stupidvisers is a brown smear on a drunk´s BVDs. They and the mayor keep trying to one-up each other, it seems, in the promotion and defense of gays. But inciting violence against Jews is ok to them, I guess.

The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
