Why are "skinnies" so frightened of obesity? Is it that it is no longer politically correct to be racist, so they need someone to pick on? Remember the Rubenesque nudes? There was a time when society admired folks with some meat on their bones, as that meant they weren´t starving to death!

I guess when you live long enough, you become a little jaded. I remember when eggs were considered to be so bad for you...and then they were okay again. I remember Jim Fixx who made jogging a household word...he died of a heart attack in middle age while jogging. I´ve read the studies that seemingly surprise people when they point out that skinnies have shorter life spans than the obese.

It is perfect how Bloomberg had to simply ignored most of Africa to make this statement.

The answer is obvious! Curtail the food stamps!

You forgot to require that employers drop fat people from group health insurance plans. The same would go for heavy drinkers and those that like to smoke dope. The vast majority of you people have never paid your own health insurance premiums.

My best friend at work and his brother spent their preteen years picking up fishheads out of a dump at an army hospital in the Ural Mountains in Russia. They were definitely lean and mean and had absolutely no problem with obesity. As a matter of fact, their clothes were hanging very loosely.
