Gabby Giffords’ Husband
Mark Kelly Tells Wolf Blitzer
Why He Bought An AR-15

Mediaite, by Tommy Christopher

Posted By:StormCnter, 3/12/2013 5:30:52 AM

Over the weekend, conservative websites like Breitbart.com and Michelle Malkin‘s site attacked retired astronaut Mark Kelly, husband of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, over his recent purchase of a used AR-15 assault weapon. On Monday afternoon’s The Situation Room, Kelly told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer why he purchased the gun, and said he didn’t “know anything about who Breitbart is, or anything about his website,” and that he planned all along to buy the weapon, and post about it on Facebook. Blitzer began by asserting that Mark Kelly was “causing a stir after purchasing two guns, including an AR-15 assault-style rifle,”

You know, Mark, I don´t care what you say. This is a political stunt pure and simple. How dare you and your wife use the awful thing that happened to her. There were other people hurt and who actually died like a little girl and a judge; none of who are ever mentioned.

You would do well to have true humility in at least mentioning these others instead of your appalling loyalty to the party.

Yes, it is a horrible thing to happen to your wife; however, it´s even worse to be so unAmerican in your pursuit to undo a country that is your home rather than the single man responsible.

I am sick to my stomach because of people like you.

If Mark Kelly doesn´t know who Breitbart was, then he´s had his head buried in the sand for a long time. I think it´s shameful the way he, and others, are using his wife - in addition, I find him very creepy.

In the last paragraph the writer falls back on the predictable, default liberal defense to blame conservarives for misbehavior by democrats. The fact is that kelly was caught red handed in an act of flaming liberal hypocrisy and everybody knows it. kelly is a two faced phony, a liar, and everybody knows it.

The left is losing ground in their war on the 2nd amendment and this doesn´t help at all, regardless of the distorted reasoning fr this purchase.

I really don´t think Kelly is a die in the wool liberal but he got caught up in all the hoopla surrounding his wife´s unfortunate shooting.

The lack of anger towards this shooter is very curious to me.There´s been almost nothing that has come out of this investigation and it may well be because his mom is a government worker. If he was a board certified right winger, that´s all you would hear about.

If he really wanted to test the system, why would he buy this gun himself? If he has no reason in his background to disqualify him from owning a gun, then the system worked. If he really wanted to make a show of how the system doesn´t work, he would have an ex-con or someone like that try to purchase and see what happened. His excuse is so bogus - he wants to have his cake and eat it too. Funny how liberals always want it that way.

The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Marvin Horne, a 67-year-old raisin farmer in Fresno, Calif., was fined almost $700,000 for refusing to surrender control of much of his harvest to the government committee in 2002. There are many who scoff at Andrew Cuomo’s chances in a presidential primary campaign, but I am not among them. His name is an iconic Democratic brand, he’s forceful on the stump and a prodigious fund-raiser. Besides, somebody has to win the nomination. Of course, there are hurdles. Saint Hillary is gearing up to run, and there will be a scrum among contenders, probably including Vice President Joe Biden, competing just to be Clinton’s top rival. The scenario, then, is daunting but doable — or at least it was,

Historian James Thomas Flexner referred to George Washington as "the indispensable man." Americans all know he was a general, but have you ever wondered what grade of general? How many stars did Gen. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,
