Ryan did a poor job of selling his last budget. In fact, nobody in the House helped out either. I expect nothing to come from this budget. Sell or no sell, Harry Reid isn`t going to bring any budget up for a vote in the senate. He doesn`t want any democrat communist fingerprints on any GOP legislation going into the 2014 midterm elections.

Same as it ever was. Sure they will run against it with nothing on their side but the lying media. They have no budget of their own but what does it matter?

Ryan´s proposals yesterday were sensible, but not realistic. It´s an oxymoron because the Dems will demagogue and block it, as the article points out. Yet the nation needs a real budget - not a string of CRs - to avoid catastrophe.

Meanwhile, the nation careens toward a real fiscal cliff. That is why something drastic, like a government shutdown, is necessary to wake people up and apply the brakes. The Dems must be forced to participate in a legitimate budget process - regular order. No more CRs.

Ryan is making proposals to fix the problem. Democrats don´t want to fix the problem, they want to increase spending, increase inflation, and the nation be d-----.

I agree with poster 4. At least Ryan is making logical proposals. What have the democrats done, nothing but complain, whine and blame. I cannot put myself in the economic seat that Ryan is in, because he knows what´s going on and is trying to forge changes. Therefore, I won´t criticize him. He is the man in charge of the budget for Repubs. Yet, all he gets is grief from both sides of the aisle.

Well, if they really intend to focus on the budget proposal, it´s not going to mean much. How many people do any of us see in a day who even know there hasn´t been a Federal budget in four years?

But if they mean they´re going to keep demonizing Republicans and "cover" it as "criticizing the budget proposal" [mostly for talking-heads show appearances] -- then, what´s new?

I´m with #2. They´ll run against Ryan´s budget, but they still won´t have one of their own that they can point to for comparison. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Amazing how they can run on a campaign of irresponsibility and win anything. Doesn´t speak highly of society in general if it works.
