Some Democrats seek
distance from Obama

Politico, by Alex Isenstadt

President Barack Obama says he’s ready to do whatever it takes to help Democrats win the House next year — a feat that could make the difference between limping to the end of his presidency and going out with a bang. But some Democratic candidates and operatives in the districts on which control of the House will hinge said in interviews with POLITICO that the message and issues Obama has emphasized since the election are creating a difficult political headwind for them. Obama’s political choices, they say, reflects a tone-deafness to the challenges they face competing for moderate and conservative-leaning

Even democrats should fear dictators. Obama wants to be one in the worst way. He tried by using executive orders, refusing to represent half the nation by ignoring Republicans, and now wants to have both houses of congress. He has an immature, juvenile mind. The democrats could have done a lot better for America if they had chosen better. Of course, the rank and file democrats had no say in the matter and I am increasingly convinced that the democrat party has been lost to anti-American leadership.

Treason is treason. What these dems are doing is distancing themselves and saying what they need to say and promising what they need to promise in order to get re-elected. Once re-elected, they will break out their Obamapads and kneel for their lord and savior, Barack Hussein Obama, blessed be his name.

After running as independents and freedom loving Americans, they will immediately, upon winning re-election resort to selling out the American people.

There is NO SUCH thing as a conservative democrat. There is no such thing as an independent democrat that votes his conscience. Democrat politicians are by definition anti-American liars.

Just this afternoon, the State Department’s inspector general basically cleared the department of allegations (stemming from the Sierra Club and other environmentalist groups, as well as the likes of Rep. Nope, not much there, says the IG, via Politico: The IG launched its investigation after environmentalists alleged that the contractor, Environmental Resources Management, had failed to fully disclose its ties to the oil industry and other interests that would benefit if

It might seem strange to say it, but I am a global warming skeptic because of Carl Sagan. This might seem strange because Sagan was an early promoter of the theory that man-made emissions of carbon dioxide are going to fry the globe. But it’s not so strange when you consider the larger message that made Sagan famous. As with many people my age, Sagan’s 1980 series “Cosmos,” which aired on public television when I was eleven years old, was my introduction to science, and it changed my life. “Cosmos” shared the latest developments in the sciences of evolution, astronomy, and astrophysics,

A Russian spy ship docked in Havana on Wednesday, and neither Cuba nor Russia offered any mention or explanation of the mysterious visit that is reminiscent of the Cold War. AFP reported that the Viktor Leonov CCB-175 boat, that measures 300 feet long and 47.5 feet wide, appeared in the section of Havana´s port usually used by cruise ships. The intelligence vessel bristles with electronic eavesdropping equipment and weaponry, including AK-630 rapid-fire cannons and surface-to-air missiles. Cuba´s visitor is from the Vishnya or Meridian-class, which was built for Russia´s navy in the 1980s and is still in service today. AFP

After spending years dogged by unpaid debts, California labor leader Charles Valdes filed for bankruptcy in the 1990s—twice. At the same time, he held one of the most influential positions in the American financial system: chair of the investment committee for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, or CalPERS, the nation’s largest pension fund for government workers. Valdes left the board in 2010 and now faces scrutiny for accepting gifts from another former board member, Alfred Villalobos—who, the state alleges, spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to influence how the fund invested its assets. In one of Alaska´s most remote outposts, where a thousand hardy souls make their homes, the Obama administration has put the fate of birds and bears above the lives of people, blocking construction of an 11-mile gravel trail connecting a tiny fishing hamlet to a life-saving airport. For more than three decades the predominantly Aleut fishing community of King Cove has been fighting to build a one-lane,gravel track connecting the Cove to the nearby hamlet of Cold Bay. What they have gotten is 30 years of flat-out federal refusals or stall tactics. Cove residents say a road is necessary so

The First Amendment has three parts to it: the protection of religious freedom, the protection of speech and press, and the protection of the people’s right to assembly and petition. In all three categories, the Obama administration’s record is outrageous: it has forced the religious to finance free contraceptives, treated some journalists as potential criminals, and sought to undermine political speech and action through “campaign finance reform” and IRS harassment. Conforming to the Obama administration’s pattern of disregarding the First Amendment in total is this month’s news: a Federal Communications Commission plan, now thwarted, to gather information on newsroom practices.
