Iran´s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
criticised for hugging mother
of Hugo Chavez

Telegraph [UK], by Robert Tait

Original Article

The Iranian president´s domestic opponents reacted furiously after photos emerged of him giving Elena Frias de Chavez, 78, a consoling hug at last Friday´s funeral in Caracas - at which he also kissed Mr Chavez´s coffin. Religious conservatives said the act insulted Iran´s religious dignity and amounted to "haram" – a term used to describe a religiously forbidden act under Islamic rules. Mohammad Taghi Rahbar, the Friday prayer leader of Iran´s second city, Isfahan, told Mehr news agency that Mr Ahmadinejad had "lost control".

Ahmadinejad has been in trouble once before for hugging an elderly female who had once been his teacher. In this instance, the lady was covered from head to toe, including her hands; she was wearing gloves, so he didn´t touch skin. Still, he was accused of "indecency".

Hugo´s mom tried to abort baby Hugo and failed to get the job done. For that, it took the tender mercies of Castrocare to truly finsih Chavez off.

Today, Hugo´s mom is part of the Chavez family which owns the $2 billion Chavez family fortune.

Think about it. Boil it down to the most basic human level, leaving aside the personalities of the people involved. A man attends the funeral of another man, who was his friend, hugs the deceased man´s mother in an act of sympathy. And for THIS the mad mutant mullahs of Iran are outraged. What a septic, toxic religion we are dealing with.

Ok, now I actually feel sorry for Mahmoud if he is getting grief for just being nice to an old lady. Those mullahs are off their rockers for getting upset about this. Don´t they have anything in their Koran about respect for the elderly? I guess not.

As far as I am concerned. Mark Sanford’s win over Curtis Bostic in South Carolina’s First Congressional District GOP runoff represents an unanswered prayer. Sanford continues to combine his mastery of therapeutic psychobabble with an ill-fitting Christian overlay that should be a dead giveaway, as Sanford himself all but acknowledged last night. Sanford is, of course, on a journey of discovery — make that a very long journey, involving the false modesty of the royal we: “It’s been a very long journey. Dr. Carson became a media sensation in January when he questioned Obamacare and progressive taxation in a speech to the National Prayer Breakfast as President Obama sat just a few feet away from him. With his new prominence, Carson has apparently also riled some liberals, including these Johns Hopkins students.

Of all the arguments public-school advocates have used to hoodwink generations of parents into condemning their own children to years of state-controlled subservience training, one of the most successful is that without public schools, children cannot be properly "socialized," and will therefore be ill-prepared for life in the "real world." [Snip] The basic premise of the argument for public schools as necessary tools of socialization is that learning to get along, or fit in, with children one´s own age is a vital life skill. Is it?

The mysterious disappearance of about 30 dogs in southern Idaho has baffled animal control officials and raised concerns among dog lovers after a German shepherd was found with its head crushed in a suspected ritual killing. The missing canines range widely in size, breed and age. "The dogs seem to vanish into thin air," said Debbie Blackwood, director of the animal shelter in Twin Falls, Idaho. Officials say some 30 dogs have gone missing in recent months in Twin Falls and nearby communities in an agricultural region in south-central Idaho known as the Magic Valley.

Not since 1984 and the landslide victory of Ronald Reagan have the Republicans had a more winnable election than the 2012 presidential election. Yet the Republican Establishment managed to lose to the worst and most vulnerable President in modern history, with historically poor approval ratings, unemployment averaging over 8.7% during his entire first term, a stagnant economy and someone who ran the smallest and most absurd of all possible re-election campaigns.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
