Kerry Kennedy wants drugged
driving charges dropped, says she
accidentally took her Ambien before crash

Kerry Kennedy, daughter of late Robert F. Kennedy, is fighting to get charges against her of driving under the influence dropped by claiming she accidentally took her sleeping medication. I n New York court filings, Kennedy argued Friday she inadvertently took the drug zolpidem instead of her daily thyroid medication, prior to the July 13 incident. The filing claims the two bottles ´are virtually identical in size, shape and appearance.´ Kennedy, who was once married to New York governor Andrew Cuomo, crashed her Lexus into a tractor trailer in North Castle, New York this past summer.

First, I get my medicine from the same pharmacy and all the bottles are brown and the same size regardless of how many there are in them. I check the label every time before taking a pill.
Second, I don´t know what ambien looks like but thyroid pills are about the smallest pills in the world. They come in different shades of pink depending on the dose. I know this because I have to take two pills, (different doses) to get the dose I need.
Third, why didn´t she just come out and say how dare the cops arrest her once they realized she was a kennedy?

My moms pill bottles are all similar. That´s why I put labels with each drugs name on top of the bottle in large print. I guess that´s too much work for someone who´s experienced so much tragedy and dedicates herself to humanitarian causes. She´s just better than everyone else.

I need to clarify my previous post. I don´t get my medicine from the same pharmacy as kennedy.
I belong to a health co-op in Seattle so all my medicines come from their pharmacy.

you´d have to be drunk to mix those pills up.

I know that this could possibly be a stretch, but I am assuming that Kerry Kennedy knows how to READ!!! All of my prescription bottles may look alike, but the LABELS are all different in that the drugs on them are not identical. I also am aware of what my pills look like so that I don´t inadvertently take something I´m not supposed to or overdose on a prescription.

This whole issue is a complete load of horse apples and she shouldn´t be able to get away with it.

Sorry but "I mistakenly took an Ambien befor driving" is absolutely no different than "I mistakenly drank a bottle of rum instead of wine before I drove".

Impaired driving is impaired driving whether intentional or not. Believe me probably 80% of those with DUI´s on their records didn´t mean drive drunk. Whether they meant to or not does not enter into the picture, impaired is impaired, your intentions or excuses are not exonerations they are simply what the impaired driver tells himself to feel better.

Poor judgement has consequences, if, God forbid, you hurt or kill someone, your intentions cannot cure them, or bring them back.

Impossible to mix up a thyroid pill with a sleeping pill. The sleeping pill she was prescribed is white and generally oval in shape. A thyroid pill is extrememly small and will be a different color (blue, green, etc.) depending upon the strength.

If she´s that confused - she shouldn´t be driving.

You can be sure that that her lawyers would never be floating this story unless some form of brand-name or generic resemblance exists.
Case closed. Smart lawyers always try to move a case like this into the "intent" category. It´s nearly impossible to prove someone´s intent, isn´t it.

Undocumented immigrants with temporary legal status soon will be allowed to pay in-state tuition rates at all Ohio public colleges as long as they meet other residency requirements. Until now, most of the state’s public two- and four-year schools have charged those students out-of-state or international rates that can be as much as three times what Ohio students pay. Today, Ohio Board of Regents Chancellor John Carey sent a letter notifying the state’s college presidents about the change, after state Attorney General Mike DeWine determined that immigrant students now may qualify for in-state tuition.

I never thought the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case deserved nearly the attention it got. But reasonable people can disagree about that. What strikes me as unconscionable, however, is the way the supposedly objective media have not only sensationalized a tragedy but at times appear to deliberately bend the facts to fit a desired story line. Maybe it started with the use of pictures of a younger Martin or with the sudden embrace of the term "white Hispanic" to describe Zimmerman in order to more easily paint him as a racist. NBC News was the most egregious offender
