Dr. Carson: Media Bullies ´Suppress
Freedom of Speech,´ ´Beat On Anyone
Who Doesn´t Toe the Line´

NewsBusters, by Noel Sheppard

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 3/9/2013 9:42:37 PM

Dr. Benjamin Carson made some more controversial statements Saturday. Appearing on Fox News´s America´s News Headquarters, Carson said, "The bullies are the people, especially the media who like to just beat on anybody who doesn´t toe the line...they suppress freedom of speech" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary): UMA PEMMARAJU, HOST: Why do you think your message is resonating with so many people? DR. BENJAMIN CARSON: Because I think there are a lot of people who have been bludgeoned into silence who really feel very strongly

Comments:
Amen to that Dr. Carson! It is extremely refreshing to see someone like him not feel threatened by the thugs in the 0bama regime.

So weird that Uma has this very odd look on her face. The man is talking straight truth. He won´t read anyone else´s script.

Uma looks like she is uttering "Say what ?"

Neurosurgeons, while brilliant, are rarely great communicators. Dr. Ben Carson is brilliant and an excellent communicator and unafraid. Triple threat! Thank you, Dr. Carson.

Dr. Carlson lost me on his gun ownership statement. Regardless of where you live anyone has a right to own an AR-15 or any legal gun. Aside from that stay after the liberal media....good show.

I love how people standing up for Constitutional rights are now considered controversial but you can allow illegals to storm the border before amnesty or let them out of jail and that´s not controversial at all.

I suspect Dr. Carson will be the big hit at CPAC this year and I love it. Fresh face, fresh ideas and an excellent, inspiring speaker. Cruz, Rubio, Paul will be very good, but I predict Carson will get the ovations.

I save little snippets of paper with things I think are important on them. I found this from a Lucianne thread/poster (says Threads2) of unknown date when I was cleaning out recently: "Google for "Ben Carson glyconutrients cancer" to read another alternative. Ben Carson is perhaps the world´s most respected pediatric neurosurgeon and he beat cancer using ´alternative´ help too."

#4, Dr. Carson did not question anybody´s right to own a gun. His exact statement was:

I think if you live in the midst of a lot of people, and I’m afraid that that semi-automatic weapon is going to fall into the hands of a crazy person, I would rather you not have it.

He was expressing his opinion - which I don´t happen to agree with - but he is entitled to.

The whole ´Dr. Carson does not support the second amendment ´ brouhaha is an attempt by those who see him as a potential threat to the Republican establishment to marginalize him. Since they can´t make reasonable claims against his intelligence or his speaking ability, they misconstrue his words, hoping that soon, everyone will believe that Dr. Carson does not support gun owners rights in the same way many believe that Sarah Palin claimed she could see Russia from her house.

Dr. Carson has not even taken his hat off yet, but - in case he intends to - we should not allow the arena to be poisoned before he even arrives.

Conservative people who happen to be black are not normal, much less acceptable, in the eyes of most “PROgressives,” if past behavior is any indication. They’re viewed as indignant, ungrateful, disloyal anomalies if they don’t automatically toe the “PROgressive” line. Someone should inform them that they’re living in the year 2013. Isn’t it about time “PROgressives” be renamed “REgressives?” No! Actually, it’s well PAST time!

Interesting that the msm bullies and Obie´s cyber-warriors haven´t figured out how to freeze Dr. Carson yet. Could be the msm figures his resonating with folks will pass over and he drops out of site. On the other hand, Dr. Carson´s promoting civility is certainly a breath of fresh air.

Reply 14 - Posted by: Bad Dog, 3/10/2013 10:16:29 AM     (No. 9217778)

#12 - I´ve been calling them ´pro-regressives´ here and elsewhere for quite some time now, thankyouverymuch.

As for Dr. Carson, my instincts are telling me to slow down a bit with him. He is, on the surface, everything on the checklist. But I don´t know that he´s been totally vetted on everything you or I care about. I haven´t done that research, and I won´t until he appears to be entering the scene on a candidate-basis. To me, right now, he is an inspiring speaker. And I applaud him for that, and would love to see him become a true threat for the Left.

But let´s slow down on him just a bit....? We also don´t want him over-exposed and becoming ubiquitous to the point we can´t stand him. ´Oh geez, there he is, again.´

We have one of those in our face already.

I don´t understand why you don´t understand what he said about gun ownership #11. Saying people in certain areas of the country shouldn´t have one because a so-called crazy person might get it is a form of gun control. It may not be outright banning, but unfortunately it is a first step on the slippery slope.

I say this even though I really like this guy and I am glad he is going to be at CPAC. I am not in favor of poisoning the arena, but I want to go into this with no surprises and eyes wide open. No more hiding our heads in the sand in regards to candidates.

He didn´t say they shouldn´t have them, #16; he said he would rather they didn´t. I would rather people home schooled their kids. I would rather my neighbors didn´t have parties in their back yard in the evenings because they tend to get a little loud. That doesn´t mean I think anything should be done about these things other than to express my opinion. That is all Dr. Carson did.

I absolutely was not accusing you of poisoning the arena. That is the purview of those with a vested interest in shutting down any possibility of conservatives influencing the republican party. It is the tactic that was used against Sarah Palin. I agree with you and #14, we should proceed cautiously. However, we will not be able to proceed if the progressives - on either side of the aisle - derail Dr. Carson before we are ready to make a decision.

Perhaps Dr. Carson was thinking of the mother of the crazy son who committed the Newtown killings ? She did not use common sense since she was aware of her son´s disturbances and yet in denial as she tried to teach him on the gun range. I would rather that she had not had guns in the home also or else make sure they were locked up securely. The same for the Gifford killer. His parents were aware!

I´m not so sure this is a slippery slope. The terms ´ a lot of people ´ and ´crazy person´ immediately put me in mind of the people who support Obama and live in places like the community that he organized.

Way to go Dr. Carson. Slightly off topic. We Conservatives are beginning to stir and the 2014 campaign will be pivotal. First, we must aim to replace the RINOs in our party by outflanking them. Dr. Carson and Rand Paul blindsided everyone by sheer audacity. The press is being forced to report and are two steps behind.

I´ve said here that Conservatives should learn from Rush and Sarah and their mastery of playing the press. The press think they are playing them when it´s the opposite. Remember them following Sarah around like puppies when she was on her road trip? That is what it will take.

We can also learn from Andrew Breitbart...

Russian botanist Michurin, once said: we can´t rely on the nature´s mercy, we have to reap the fruits ourselves (paraphrasing, of course).
We can´t rely on the mercy of commie/fascist media! We need our own conservative MAINstream media. And the best and the most charismatic conservatives need to ask for it. They need to campaign amongst conservative investors to invest in creation of NEW mainstream media. Personally, I don´t think it will be very hard: we are ready, plenty of journalists are ready... It could be kind of avalanche process.

The way I hear it, Dr. Carson thinks that those who live in cities should not be allowed to own semi automatic weapons. Might want to check that out. You might want to see if that´s true before you get on this guy´s bandwagon. A view like that is definitely anti-second amendment.

From the article: "Dr. Benjamin Carson made some more controversial statements Saturday."......more?.....controversial?....to who? Why is it considered "controversial" to talk back to the ass-press enemedia?

If tht´s truly the case, then every L-Dotter must be considered "controversial" by this Sheppard guy...hmmm, any relation to Sheppard Smith?

Bottom Line: Dr. Ben speaks TRUTH to POWER....(remember that?) and the media bullies and leftist Marxist bullies dont like it when someone on our side co-opts their strategies and says and does things that they feel only are allowed to be said by THEM, which of course we all know dearly, makes them HYPOCRITES!!! Liars and hypocrites, thats what makes up the media and the Marxist lefty party....and we all KNOW it! Thanks for telling it like it is, Dr. Ben!

For those questioning Dr Carson´s comment in this interview about guns, please bear in mind that he is a neurosurgeon first. They are responsible in trauma calls for the often futile attempt to put a mangled brain and spine together again. They´re front line. I say this as a nurse who worked N/S and Neuro for years previously.

They see the results of not just vehicular and many other traumas, but gun trauma - right out of the gate. And most of you never hear or see the results of the stories of what led to what - many would not be able sleep if they knew the constant real-life drama coming in an ED´s doors. I´m going to give him a bit of break on that end alone because I´ve seen too much of it myself. Otherwise, I do NOT think he stands IN ANY WAY with any anti-gunners like crazy Feinstein, who apparently never heard of shell-shock in WWI and II, as it was termed. He´s tempered by his professional exposure and it was unfiltered.

Reply 35 - Posted by: StuartL, 3/11/2013 12:13:35 AM     (No. 9218670)

The remedy for a crazy person with a gun is a sane person with a gun. The remedy for a gang of bad guys with semi-auto (or any other type of) firearms is a team of good guys with the same (or better) weapons.

Sooner or later they´ll get the message.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
