Hagel: Don’t worry
about North Korea

Washington Examiner, by Joel Gehrke

Original Article

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told reporters not to worry about North Korea’s threat to carry out a preemptive strike on Washington D.C. after the United States led a push for a new round of United Nations sanctions on the regime. “[T]he United States of America and our allies are prepared to deal with any threat, and any reality that occurs in the world,” Hagel said during a media availability on his way to Afghanistan when asked about North Korean bellicosity. “Second, we are aware of — of what’s going on.

It shouldn´t be surprising at all. 0bama and his regime act the same way concerning all of our enemies including Iran. He´s an unmitigated disaster. I hate feeling so unsafe in our country with all the incompetents in the regime.

Haven´t check the stats recently, but don´t we have about 28,000 US troops in South Korea, within range of Little Kims weapons...would rather have seen some US provacative sabre rattling maneuvers than hearing this chit chat...

It´s not a question of being prepared, it´s a question of Obama´s resolve. If N Korea nuked Honolulu would he respond or would he want to sit down and talk.

Back in 1941 few in the federal government thought that there was much chance of a Pearl Harbor attack happening either!

One North Korean developed and deployed nuclear weapon placed in a foreign ship detonating in some US harbor would do a lot more damage then the Pearl Harbor attack ever did.

I do not trust this man´s wisdom, judgment, values or politics. He is damaged goods. Obama´s insistence upon confirming him despite numerous concerns and widespread opposition is still more proof that he, Obama, is unfit to be president and is not a good steward for America. A real president, a true American would never have forced such a choice through but would have sought and found someone acceptable to both parties. But Obama is an ideologue who puts his ideological goals above what is good for America. Nothing better illustrates this than the choice of Chuck Hagel as Secretary of Defense.

I´m guessing that if you and your bosses were anywhere to be found you all would be to busy cleaning your pants to do a damn thing about it except ´perhaps´ deploying various ineffective forces willy nilly all around the world to ´talk´!

So 53 percent of Americans disapprove of ObamaCare. But is it me or Republicans behaving like it´s a 100 percent? Because I don´t know about you, but hanging your election hat on 53 percent seems dicey to me. I´m not saying ObamaCare won´t be and shouldn´t be an issue. But stopping action on any other issue in the meantime looks pretty stupid. Look, I was the first to say this Affordable Care Act wasn´t affordable and the promises behind it were just an act. Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. A clip from Carter’s upcoming Meet the Press interview reveals that President Obama is the first president since Carter left office not to solicit the Southern Democrat’s advice. Carter explained, “President Clinton did and President George W. Bush and H.W. Bush and even Ronald Reagan used to call on us to go into sensitive areas.” They all asked Carter to deal with “unsavory characters,” but Obama hasn’t reached out to

Last week, President Obama directed his Homeland Security Department to examine its current deportation practices -- "to see how it can conduct enforcement more humanely, within the confines of the law," the White House announced on March 13. But with immigration reform stalled in Congress, what more can Obama do? "I think he´s going to wait until August," said Telemundo anchor and immigration-reform advocate José Díaz-Balart. And if Congress doesn´t act on immigration reform by then, "I wouldn´t be surprised if he starts making some very controversial executive orders to mitigate the pain of millions of people who face deportation," Díaz-Balart told

Susan Rice, national security adviser to President Barack Obama, said on Friday that the administration still believes there is a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine as Russian troops mobilized along the country’s entire eastern border. CBS News reported on Friday that a mass mobilization of Russian forces was taking place on Ukraine’s eastern border with at least twice as many troops as the 20,000 number originally reported. The defense “exercise” included tanks and tactical aircraft and appeared to show signs of a logistical buildup required for a sustained operation.
