| In the blink of an eye, the second Obama term has turned the clock back to the pre-9/11 days, when al-Qaeda was a law-enforcement problem, not a national-security challenge. Remember the great ruckus over the administration’s attempt to give Khalid Sheik Mohammed & Co. a civilian trial in lower Manhattan? In what would, in effect, reward their savagery in killing nearly 3,000 Americans a few blocks from the federal courthouse, the administration proposed to endow them with all the constitutional rights and peacetime civilian due process protections of American citizens, despite the fact

Congress prohibited the use of government money to ship prisoners to NYC so this lawless bunch brought him directly to NYC thus providing him civilian protection not given to other guest at Gitmo. Now the other guest will appeal for the same benefits. What a hateful administration.
It is released on a weekend with minimal exposure.

Obama has brought a foreign enemy to U.S. soil for a civilan trial at a high cost to the American taxpayer. Trials for foreign combatants should be held at GITMO where security and facilities already exist. I think this may be just the beginning. With his dismatling of the military, I fear he is making the United States weak and open for attack. I pray it does not, but I really expect something will happen again in the U.S.

Terrorism is treated with constitutional protections as if they were domestic crimes while the state of war is against domestic patriots. It is like pulling teeth to get administration officials to affirm constitutional guarantees for citizens or answer NO to the simple question of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, can the president kill american citizens on american soil with a drone when they are not in the act of launching any attack. The target of the war on terror is american citizens and the beneficiaries of the bill of rights are real terrorists!

NO, Obama is a Muslim !!!!
If it is a Military Commission that decides the death penalty, then it is Obama as the "Commander in Chief" that MUST sign the death warrant.
If it is a Civilian Court, then it is a Judge that will do that, and NOT Obama !!!
You are thinking about this the wrong way !

My guess is that all the Sunday msm shows will either ignore what just happened or praise Obama for giving terrorists caught abroad Constitutional rights. In New York City a hung jury or an acquittal is likely. The leftists hate America more than Al-Qaeda and if they get on the jury then no matter the evidence nullification could happen. I think that is what Obama wants a trial that vilifies America and frees a terrorist. God help us this Administration is destroying this country easier and at a faster pace than they even imagined.

Just what purpose justifies having drones in US skies other than to attack political dissent? Are they going to crop dust frankensteined Monsanto crops?
That letter sent by Holder might reassure some but should not most who know all too well the past patterns of Obama lying out his pie hole. Besides the letter came from Holder, not Obama. Yes they will split hairs later and claim Obama didn´t give any orders(just like Benghazi) to shoot to kill. I foresee them going ahead and quietly deploying drones, the 30,000 predicted by 2020 and act like it´s all good, gonna play nice. Once the admin starts the civil war the status/mission will change. Wave Holder´s letter then and see what good it does. The DC commies will just laugh.
Was it Stalin who said, "Promise them everything and give them nothing"? That letter is just a dodge to get the confirmations the admin wanted and not to be trusted. It is just as worthless as the paper it´s printed on.

When this case goes to trial, be prepared for demonstrations and likely violence in NYC, incessant media coverage, outrageous courtroom behavior by the defendant, sequestered jurists in fear for their lives. If they are luck enough to get a conviction and avoid a mistrial because Abu Ghayth is neither a citizen nor committed any crime under the the US Code on US soil, then be prepared for lengthy appeals.
I say, let Abu Ghayth go free, and ship Obama and Holder to Gitmo for military tribunals.

Let me see if I got this right... This administration argues that it has the right to kill American citizens on American soil with drone strikes when they are not in combat but MAY pose a threat.....But we need to afford non citizens who are fighting against this country the full constitutional protections of the right to trial, miranda, lawyers, interogation protection, etc. Why did we nt just teach King George´s army how to hide behind trees so they could win the revolution and we would not have to worry about constitutional protections for American citizens (its such a bother!)

I always thought that the Constitution was written by AMERICANS and intended for AMERICANS. In this modern age, it seems that the Constitution, and thusly American law, is actually intended for foreigners and not for American citizens. And does that mean that citizens of other counties can now claim "constitutional rights" if they are arrested in their own country? And what about an American who commits a crime in another country. Does that person get "constitutional right"? I really don´t think that would ever happen. But just because someone is in our custody, we grant them rights that they never heard of before. And there will be a ton on trial lawyers that will want do "defend" said person, mainly because there will be enourmous amounts of MONEY to be made.
It´s past time for the next revolution.

The US government infiltration of Muslim totalitarian planning in favor of Islamic rules and war is overwhelming and rarely, if ever, openly discussed in our media. The new CIA appointment of John Brennan is an elegant example of this US government counter intelligence disease. Just now voted CIA Director, by a greed drugged, sleeping, stupid Congress, Brennan, an avowed muslim enabler, joins many other muslim supporting appointees and electeds in our government to our great danger. Go to Robert Spencer´s www.JIHADWATCH.com Friday March 8, to third article, "Jihad Disaster, Islamic supremicist enabler John Brennan confirmed as CIA Director". Find the article and Robert´s one hour video interview with former FBI agent, John Guandolo. This fascinating revelation of suppressed facts may be the most important single interview describing this massive conflict. Learn about the breathtaking infiltration of muslims in our government, and how the softness to this danger applies equally to both so-called parties. Robert is a true hero, and John Guandolo together make two of the brightest best informed people, who will never be allowed even on Fox TV. Yes, even FoxTV is soft. Evasive, on cancerous Jihad/muslim truth. Hey, they’ve got Muslim stockholders. Two heroic people, two heroic blogs, assiduously covering this giant mess, and not reported by lamestream media. Keep your eyes on Robert Spencer, JihadWatch.com and Pamela Geller, AtlasShrugs.com. They are the only two reporting the brutal truth daily from all over the world.

Obama said in his book that he would "always side with the Muslims," and he has, from helping the Muslim Brotherhood take overs in Libya, Egypt, Syria, etc., to granting Osama bin-Laden´s son the rights of an American citizen.
Now we will see a bin-Laden being granted discovery rights, allowing him to subpoena classified intelligence documents, exposing American methods and agents, all to the benefit of al-Qaeda and related Islamic terrorist groups.
THIS was the real purpose of Obama/Holder seeking to hold these trials all along....
Barack Obama and Eric Holder hate America every bit as much as they hate white people and Jews, and that´s saying quite a bit.

The only thing standing in the way of another major terrorist attack in NYC is Ray Kelly and the NYPD. When he is gone, the NYPD will be hog tied and the Wild West will return to NY. I can only imagine how quickly the terrorists will regain a foothold. God help New Yorkers who blindly follow this devil in the White House. How they are not marching in the streets with Bin Laden´s son in law in their back yard is beyond me. So glad not to live and work there any longer.

Massachusetts investigators have developed what they call "mounting evidence," bolstered by "forensic hits," that point to the possible involvement of both Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother Dzhokhar in a gruesome, unsolved triple homicide in 2011, law enforcement officials told ABC News. The officials cautioned that until more definitive DNA testing is complete, it is still too early to consider bringing an indictment against the younger of the two brothers, who officials said has admitted his role in the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three and injured 260 more on April 15.

Jim DeMint is taking some calculated risks, but he might really be on to something good. The South Carolinian DeMint, who famously left the U.S. Senate last January to become president of the Heritage Foundation, spoke in Mobile, Ala., Wednesday night at a fundraiser for the Alabama Policy Institute, one of the oldest and best state think tanks in the country. Emphasizing the theme that the nation’s politics and policy must be improved from the bottom up, through grassroots action, DeMint made quite a good impression. And he had to overcome my initial skepticism to do it.

Fitting that the House held hearings within 24 hours on both the Benghazi attack and the Boston marathon bombing. The two seemingly disparate events, separated by time and distance and sophistication, share much in common. By the close of each sorry episode, four people had died. The villains in each case considered themselves soldiers of Allah fighting a holy war against America. In both instances the political correctness of government officials prevented discovery of the truth. Benghazi and Boston are symptoms of the same disorder. They are twin studies in evasion. The grandson of slain civil rights leader Malcolm X was reported Thursday to have died in Mexico. The death of Malcolm Shabazz, 29, was reported online by the Amsterdam News, which cited an Internet post by a family friend. The circumstances, however, were not immediately clear. Officials at the State Department told the Daily News a United States citizen had died in Mexico City, but they would not provide further information. “We have been in contact with family members and at their request we have no further comment at this time,” an official said.

Fans of Glenn Beck are complaining about what I wrote yesterday about his speech at the National Rifle Association convention, where he used a giant image of Michael Bloomberg photoshopped into what appeared to be an image of Hitler with his arm raised in a Nazi salute and wearing an armband. The Beck crowd now tells me that it wasn’t Hitler’s picture into which the New York mayor was transposed but that of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin. They say that means I owe Beck an apology along with the Anti-Defamation League and others who were also outraged by it.

The Obama administration wants to consign the Benghazi terrorist attack to the history books, but this week three State Department officials will tell Congress that the Obama administration’s version of history is false — and that the falsehoods it told the American people were willful and deliberate. One of the whistleblowers, Mark Thompson, deputy coordinator for operations in the State Department’s counterterrorism bureau, was in direct, real-time communication with people on the ground during the Sept. 11, 2012, attack in Libya, before he was locked out of the room. Yet despite his firsthand knowledge of how the attack

If it wasn’t obvious beforehand, it became clear last week that Ted Cruz is likely to run for president. On Wednesday, the freshman senator’s advisors spilled the beans about his thinking on 2016 to National Review (short version: highly doable), and Friday Cruz showed up in the critical primary state of South Carolina to speak at the state GOP’s “Silver Elephant Dinner.” Which raises a question conspiratorial liberals have been waiting to ask of a Republican since at least 2008: Is Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father,

We have seen in the Boston bombings case how terrorists depend on a network of sympathizers. But the Russian connection remains a mystery. The press should follow up on the Russian angle to the Islamic terrorist bombers story before President Obama gets carried away with cooperating with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The assumption by the media that the former KGB officer is genuinely interested in helping the U.S. solve its Islamic terrorism problem should be subjected to scrutiny. After all, al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has been identified by KGB defectors as a Russian agent.

As a presidential speech writer for the first Bush White House, I am always very interested in what presidents say in their formal speeches. They know, of course, that their remarks will be widely covered by the press, studied by analysts, and influential in contemporary political debates. For that reason, presidents rarely speak off-the-cuff, and their every word is carefully chosen for exactly the message the White House wants to convey to the public. Their graduation speeches, like all presidential addresses, go through many drafts and are reviewed by high-level administration officials

The most notable takeaway from Jay Carney’s incomprehensible Friday appearance had little to do with his Klingon grammar. Carney does not represent the historical value of the event – you should be wise to forget his performance, and instead take note that he was flanked by the entire room, without exception. Do not underestimate the significance: the Obama administration has not faced such an onslaught of truth-seeking since he took office in 2008, and further, no Democratic administration has been charged from all sides like this in recent memory. That press conference was unthinkable just days ago

Harkening back to a Mitt Romney press conference on September 12, 2012, which addressed the Benghazi attacks only in passing while focusing instead on the assault on the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt, Carney suggested that Romney had tried to target the innocent Obama administration for telling the truth about Benghazi. “Republicans, again, in this ongoing effort that began in the hours after the attack when Mitt Romney put out a press release to try to take political

Northwestern University continued to stumble over diversity issues this week as Mexican students voiced disagreement with a campuswide letter that advised students not to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by engaging in racially-offensive activities, such as eating tacos and drinking tequila. The letter was sent to students via e-mail, and published in The Daily Northwestern last week. Leaders of Alianza, a Latino student group, and the Associated Student Government called on students to remember that Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. It is not a day to throw a sombrero-themed party, they said.

When it became clear last fall that the CIA’s now discredited Benghazi talking points were flawed, the White House said repeatedly the document were put together almost entirely by the intelligence community, but White House documents reviewed by Congress suggest a different story. ABC News has obtained 12 different versions of the talking points that show they were extensive edited as they evolved from the drafts first written entirely by the CIA to the final version distributed to Congress and to U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice before she appeared on five talk shows the Sunday after that attack.

She weathered Whitewater. She made it past Monica ?Lewinsky. Now Hillary Clinton is hoping to beat the rap on Benghazi and make it to the White House. The Clinton political machine is in full campaign mode already, preparing for 2016 and hoping voters forget by then that she had a key role in the Obama administration’s handling of the terror attack. But that’s becoming more difficult as the GOP appears to be laying the groundwork for tying Clinton to Benghazi and making sure it stays front and center in the next campaign. Some of the testimony from State Department whistleblowers

Earlier today, we learned about a bombshell report that said the CIA´s Benghazi talking points were changed 12 times, with extensive input from the State Department. It comes after State Department whistleblower Gregory Hicks testified Wednesday that he was shocked when he saw Susan Rice blaming a protest for the attack on numerous talk shows. Martha MacCallum discussed the next steps in the investigation of what happened in Benghazi with Hicks´ attorney, Victoria Toensing. At this point, she thinks "it´s about time" that House Republicans start issuing subpoenas,

Shortly before last November’s election I took part in a Fox News documentary on Benghazi, whose other participants included the former governor of New Hampshire John Sununu. Making chit-chat while the camera crew were setting up, Governor Sununu said to me that in his view Benghazi mattered because it was “a question of character.” That’s correct. On a question of foreign policy or counterterrorism strategy, men of good faith can make the wrong decisions. But a failure of character corrodes the integrity of the state. WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service is apologizing for inappropriately flagging conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status. Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews. Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers in Cincinnati, was wrong and she apologized while speaking at a conference in Washington. It´s been 11 days and counting since the Jets cut ties with Tim Tebow and 13 months since they traded for him. Much of the conversation in the past week and a half has been about which teams -- if any -- would be interested in the former Heisman Trophy winner. The usual suspects include Tebow´s hometown Jacksonville Jaguars, but new general manager David Caldwell has said in no uncertain terms that Tebow isn´t an option (laudatory commercials from local lawyers notwithstanding).
