| Justin Bieber was rushed to hospital tonight after suffering breathing difficulties on stage at London´s O2 Arena. The pop hearthrob was initially treated by doctors backstage for up to 15 minutes before returning to finish the show. However, after the gig ended, he was taken to an undisclosed London hospital for a thorough medical examination. Some fans at the arena claimed to have seen the 19-year-old faint and others believed he´d hit his head on a speaker.

Poor Mr. Bieber is suffering the same pangs as that other young stars such as Miley Cyrus. He is trying to become an adult and yet stay relevant and employable in the age of Lady Gaga, et al. IMHO, which is not worth much, he had little talent beyond being extremely cute and adorable and his cuteness was an easy crush for the little girls and tweenies. He will always be a nice looking guy, but, his cute precocious schtick is done and he is floundering without it.

For the season, ad-supported cable as a group has opened up a bigger ratings advantage over the Big Four – and has beaten the broadcasters in the 18-49 demo on a regular basis in a handful of timeslots. President Barack Obama´s bid to renew a ban against military-style assault weapons narrowly won the backing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday and headed to the full Senate, where it appears certain to fail. On a party line vote of 10-8, the Democratic-led panel approved a bill to renew a ban similar to one that expired in 2004. The measure would also limit high-capacity ammunition clips to 10 bullets.

This administration certainly loves drones, but even that ardent passion has limits. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Tuesday put a stop to production of a medal that was to be awarded to drone operators, and not a moment too soon. It wasn’t just the idea of the Distinguished Warfare Medal that offended good sense. The real outrage was ignited by the goofy idea to give it precedence over medals awarded for bravery and valor.

As Winter Storm Saturn heads farther east into the Atlantic Ocean, the rain and snow mixture in the Mid-Atlantic States will come to an end Wednesday night. Mayor Bloomberg was booed yesterday as he walked in the annual St. Patrick’s Parade in the hurricane-ravaged Rockaways. The jeers grew so loud toward the end of the Queens parade that mayoral candidate and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn appeared to break away from the mayor to march separately. A spokesman for Quinn later said she always intended to walk separately from the mayor.

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
