O’Reilly-Colmes Family Spat
Shows Why There’s Fox News…
and There’s Everyone Else

Mediaite, by Joe Concha

Original Article

George W. Bush wins the 2000 Presidential Election by (in essence) 537 votes; Fox News goes to #1 in the cable news race a few months later. Bush narrowly beats John Kerry in 2004. Not surprisingly, Fox is still #1, and by a wider margin. Barack Obama soundly defeats John McCain in 2008; Fox is still #1 by a Secretariat-esque margin. Mr. Obama decisively beats Mitt Romney four months ago; Regardless of which party holds executive power, Fox is still decimating the competition, albeit by a slightly smaller-than-usual margin. Sure, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow

What an incredible article! It´s nice to see this from a site like Mediaite. Dennis Miller also called out O´Reilly last night for his defense of Obama in not calling him a Socialist when it has been obvious for a long time. It was good stuff. Mr. Concha deserves credit for writing this.

Dennis Miller was superb last night in explaining that Obama "isn´t half as nice nor half as smart" as he is rumored to be. And, that BOR was been conducting a 5 year love festival for Obama.

Dennis also it clear to the blowhard BOR that he does not watch the Alan Colmes segments on Bill´s show. "A parrot is better at improvisation than Colmes and his tired Democratic talking points."

I haven´t watched Fox for years because the Leftist guests always pull out the O. regime "talking points" that are filled with spin, distortion, and outright lies. The same "talking points" are used, no matter which hosts on Fox interviews them. I guess you could say they attempt to be "fair and balanced", but with the stable of Leftists they employ, their shows never match the reality of fair or balanced.

What OP & #1 both said. Good for Mediaite! For a change! Saw both shows and they were thoroughly enjoyable, especially the one with the ferret-like-colmes being stunned into whining about "civility". Dennis Miller had all he could do to not go postal on O´Reilly who tried to be as condescending as he could about Dennis not being quite the "analyst" BOR is. Still, BOR has an interesting show and we do watch it, though the remote changes channels when Juan, Geraldo, "Dr." Lamont Hill and several other leftists appear.

This foolish waste of time is why we are losing elections.

Like it or not, O´Reilly came out on the short end of this stick, in spite of the fact that he was the only one who showed true concern for the devastating debt that Obama has created.

If O´Reilly can´t put Kirsten Powers and Alan Colmes on the defensive about our national debt, then he is failing.

Conservatives need to chose their battles more carefully.

We do get both sides on Fox News, more than on any other network.

Colmes and Hannity were often a shouting match too and hard to watch/see/understand.

Colmes enjoys causing strife and in so doing, has a place of so-called importance.

I only want to hear the truth no matter who it comes from.

There does not seem to be much honor in the media anymore and you have to carefully listen to what is really being said.

I have a hard time believing the Dems/Libs truly believe all they say - supporting Obama, no matter what he does/says.

This is life today in America!

Was there ever a time when we believed/trusted the media - unless they agreed with our values.

Pray for America. God, wake US up to the reality of Your presence, Your faithfulness, and surely, Your Grace that not only saved US but will sustain US throughout all our lives.

´´Sure, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell are periodically beating Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren in the demo, but for 22 other hours out of the day, it’s not even a fair fight.´´

Exactly what ´´demo´´ is that?!?!? The brain-dead rabied lie-beral demographic?????

The last 100 or so daily ratings I have seen, Sean gets about 2.5 million viewers every day, while Mad-cow is lucky to pull 900,000. The last I checked, Sean had the second highest rated show on Fox, trailing only O´Reilly. The Comedy Channel may get more viewers against some of Fox´s lower-rated shows (thanks to the idiots in the 18-25 demo). But even the lowest rated Fox show beats everything on MSNBC by a large margin among total viewers.

Not a bad article, but a weird statement like that sort of taints it from the beginning...

The rest of this piece might be commendable, but every time I see this claim posted, I have to comment. The "537 votes" claim needs at least 2 asterisks appended to it:

* First, Bush´s lead in the 2000 Florida vote count was whittled down by corrupt Dem-controlled election boards who counted "dimples" and "hanging chads" (remember those?).

** Second, the MSM always forget the missing Florida panhandle vote -- for which the MSM themselves were actually responsible. Remember how the networks "called" Florida for Gore, before polls in a different time zone (the FL panhandle) had closed?

That premature victory call for Gore caused about 10,000 - 15,000 disappointed GOP voters to go home without bothering to vote.

Even rabid Dem Bob Beckel, who was a pollster at the time, affirmed that Bush would´ve received at least 11,000 more votes in Florida, had the MSM not torpedoed the vote with their early call.

Jimmy Carter: Obama the Only President

Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. A clip from Carter’s upcoming Meet the Press interview reveals that President Obama is the first president since Carter left office not to solicit the Southern Democrat’s advice. Carter explained, “President Clinton did and President George W. Bush and H.W. Bush and even Ronald Reagan used to call on us to go into sensitive areas.” They all asked Carter to deal with “unsavory characters,” but Obama hasn’t reached out to

Last week, President Obama directed his Homeland Security Department to examine its current deportation practices -- "to see how it can conduct enforcement more humanely, within the confines of the law," the White House announced on March 13. But with immigration reform stalled in Congress, what more can Obama do? "I think he´s going to wait until August," said Telemundo anchor and immigration-reform advocate José Díaz-Balart. And if Congress doesn´t act on immigration reform by then, "I wouldn´t be surprised if he starts making some very controversial executive orders to mitigate the pain of millions of people who face deportation," Díaz-Balart told

CBS News reported on Friday that a mass mobilization of Russian forces was taking place on Ukraine’s eastern border with at least twice as many troops as the 20,000 number originally reported. The defense “exercise” included tanks and tactical aircraft and appeared to show signs of a logistical buildup required for a sustained operation. In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population. The odds are probably better than even that you will be annoyed by that. Which is fine. I accept that response. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf.
