| As Sen. Rand Paul R-Ky. approached the 8-hour mark of his filibuster in protest of the Obama administration’s drone program, his colleague Sen. Ted Cruz R-Texas approached the Senate floor to read tweets in support. “I feel quite confident that the senator from Kentucky is not aware of the Twitterverse that has been exploding,” Cruz declared. “So what I wanted to do for the Senator from Kentucky is give some small sampling of the reaction on twitter so that he might understand how the American people are responding to his courageous leadership.” Cruz began

Comments: Good! It´s about time that the Republicans joined the social media craze. I bet the Democrats are sorry they didn´t think of it first.

This filibuster is turning into a very important Constitutional debate ! I´m loving listening to it on C-SPAN. It is wonderful to hear these arguments and way past due. Several other Senators are now joining in, speaking up, giving Senator Rand a break. I´ve e-mailed my Senators (Boxer and Feinstein, I know, I know), asking where they stand on this, why they aren´t standing in line behind Senator Paul waiting their turn to speak up for the Constitutional rights of ALL Americans, regardless of party affiliation. This is important and well past time that it is happening. I´m hoping that it continues well into the night or into the morning. /SP/

I thought today how many times we hear how our side can´t get any media attention. I was home all day and this was covered widely and not just on FOX. Senator Paul and Senator Cruz´ every move was all over the place. Just goes to show with fresh faces acting outside the box - POW! Some of those anchors were stunned!!! It was fun to watch!!!! Conservatives standing UP, fully prepared, speaking from the heart and supporting one another. So true #1!

Instead of praise for Paul we get snark at other repubicns.
During the filibuster there were more than a few other republicans who came to the podium to offer support.
So much easier to bash than praise.
It´s clear now why we lost the chance to defeat Obama. Too busy bashing our side.
America, our military, and our allies thank you bashers.

#8 I understand what you are saying but if we want a chance to beat the Democrats we have to be able to offer something better. Romney wasn´t it. I applaud Senators Rand, Cruz, and everyone who supported this on the Senste floor. It proves that patriotism and good old conservatism can make itself heard. Let´s have more of it.

The stark difference between Senator Paul and what is "normally on tv" was astounding. A lesson in loving the America that used to be and the refusal to accept the status quo! Took me back to when I was taught "American history" in the 50´s and 60´s, it transported me back to the Patrick Henry speech of "Give me Liberty or give me Death"!! God Bless Rand Paul.

Sen. Rand Paul was refreshing but seeing him alone for so long made me furious. When "reach across the aisle, McCain" gets an idea he is always with a "gang of" but someone defending the Constitution is alone? Then Dems are offended when their patriotism is questioned. Defending the constitution and rule of law and due process is not an issue for only one party. When no Dems stand with Rand, then where is their loyalty and oath to defend the constitution? Never mind, we know.

#7 needs a rethink. Bashing republicans would be criticizing Paul and Cruz for rocking the boat. The cowards who did not show up to support Rand Paul and Ted Cruz need to be criticized and if possible thrown out of office.
I hope their constituents are paying attention at burning up the email and phone lines at the offices of these cowards. The future of our Country is at stake here. Even the ACLU is beginning to wake up to that fact.

I was interested in the SCOTUS case (Medellin v. Texas) Cruz described that he argued (and won) in 2008 over whether the International Court of Justice (UN) could actually demand that Texas (and the US) disregard our constitution(s) and cede sovereignty to world opinion.
The ruling reported as 6-3 rejecting the ICJ´s absurd claims was actually 5-4. The anti-US minority coalition of dissenters was, of course, the usual suspects.
Two of them are still sitting (Ginsburg and Breyer) and the other two (Stevens and Souter) have been replaced by like-minded progressives, Kagan and Sotomayor.
Our constitution and our freedom are hanging by a thread! All it takes is for Obama to be able to replace one of the nine justices with a progressive and the constitution will finally be thrown on the ash heap of history.
Last night was not only historic for the filibuster -- it is the first time in living memory that senators have been heard by the people they represent actually fully supporting and defending the constitution as their oaths of office demand.

I´m proud of my new Senator Cruz, much better than who he replaced. I pleased my other senator, Sen. Cornyn didn´t go to the dinner with Obama. Still I think it is going to be up to our governors to get this federal government under control. Washington DC politicians have proven they cannot control themselves and can´t be trusted with the nations interests, only their own. I don´t know how the governors can stop the bloated behemoth but who else?

Cruz makes a brilliant point, and maybe sets a new example for being more effective. How much space does Lucianne get every day on social media? Is Lucianne fed out to social media, picking up thousands more readers and voices? We ignorant ones can only ask. More social media exposure and feed back may be an idea worth following up on. And why aren´t Ldotters keeping an eye on, and making deadly remarks about, the TV mafia lamestream media, too? Diane Sawyer, the Queen of Drone news, needs more Ldotter observation, just like watching over a sick patient in the prison ward. The power of this wonderful Ldotter open forum, vox pop, has even more potential to win the war against collectivist tyranny.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.
