Recently uncovered government documents reveal that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security´s (DHS) unmanned Predator B drone fleet has been customize designed to identify civilians carrying guns and track cell phone signals. "I am very concerned that this technology will be used against law-abiding American firearms owners," said founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation Alan Gottlieb. “This could violate Fourth Amendment rights as well as Second Amendment rights." When the government turns on the people the Second Amendment is the only recourse that we have! That is exactly why the government is trying so hard to disarm us.

I posted this earlier on Breitbart...

Now they can violate the 1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment, 4th Amendment, 9th Amendment and 10th Amendment all at once. Very cool.

It may be too late but if no one rises up and stops them we will be Venezuela with another 20 years of Obama. The next to fall will be the 22nd Amendment.

BTW, Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution gives Obama none of these powers.

I agree #2 and the govt is well prepared with armored vehicles, drones and stockpiled ammo to brutally put down anyone who pulls out a gun even in self defence. They will do provocations and hammer any response hard. The media will back up the govt every inch of the way. I just hope that there are enough real patriots in the military who will not follow illegitimate orders.

The Marxist-in-chief is building his ´civilian´ force as fast as possible. Another civil war is coming I fear. Time for some enterprising true Americans to develop and field surface-to-drone solutions to this coming problem.

I don´t understand how the technology works. They can´t xray from altitude. Radar doesn´t have the resolution to tell the difference in a gun versus the whole human body. If the gun is concealed how can they detect it? They only way I can think of is to try to draw fire. Or perhaps the drone has super long arms that can do a pat down. I´m sure an IR camera has enough resolution to see the bulk of a large gun. But I´m talking LARGE. This sounds like an urban legend.

For what it´s worth, the most recent version of the unredacted DHS document is dated May 26, 2005. It´s almost eight years old.

I agree with #10. Whether or not the drone is able to detect a firearm doesn´t matter; if one is attacked by a drone all the government would have to say is "The drone mistook (fill in the blank...) for a firearm. Sorry about that." So even if we´ve chewed a pop-tart into the form of a pistol, a drone would be justified in attacking because it supposedly detects a firearm. Government can BLAME THE DRONE for killings; they will attribute lethal mistakes to errant machinery or programming.

Openly carrying a rifle is easy. It is possible that concealed carry of a large pistol may show on thermal imaging.

Rand Paul asked, and Holder has reported that killing American citizens inside the US with a drone and no trial is legal according to his flying monkeys in the "Dept of Justice".

I, too, wonder how much of this is intended to freak everyone out, then get us used to them "crying wolf" so we do not react when they really ARE doing this stuff.

I still think the DHS ammo buy numbers are off by 1,000 times too high - based on reading the original source documents carefully.

Reply 19 - Posted by: whyyeseyec, 3/6/2013 1:05:02 PM     (No. 9211525)

#@10: Most likely the drone will view the human being as a heat source and draw attention to all foreign objects attached to that heat source, which in turn may identify the `shape` of any object being carried. If an object even looks like a gun the local police can be alerted and a stop/search can be made using `probable cause`.

I`d call this Authoritative Paranoia Syndrome on behalf of the govn.
