| In a shocking development that should alert all conservatives to behind-the-scenes manipulation of CPAC and other conservative organizations, the winner of the voting for an important award for bloggers has been barred from receiving it. Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs reports: I was surprised and honored that Jihad Watch was among the nominees for the People´s Choice Blog Award, sponsored by Right Wing News and TheTeaParty.net, to be awarded at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2013. Apparently CPAC is no longer as conservative as it would have you believe, or as it´s name implies. There is a concerted effort by establishment organizations from both parties to infiltrate both old and new conservative movements in order to influence them in less conservative directions. This is a tactic as old as politics itself. There is never a shortage of people willing to sell out a cause, no matter how worthy, if the price is right.

I posted the following on the American Thinker site a few minutes ago and just wonder if others are noticing the kind of glaring errors like the one in the headline of this article.
Please, Thomas . . . you are the editor of AT. Why do you not proofread your editorials before posting them? This headline is typical of the carelessness to be found in many of your articles which is very off putting. I know someone will probably say, "But, we know what he meant." Well, color me picky, but I expect more from this site.

I know Suhail Khan. He is a friend of mine and a proud Muslim, like many of you are proud Christians/Jews/whatevers. Just because some evil Muslims have done awful things does not and cannot infect all practicing Muslims. I have witnessed the ugly confrontational tactics used against Suhail at the 2012 CPAC-these idiot activist hijack seminars on ecumenical understanding. Disgusting. Suhail is a Reagan Republican and proudly so. He is attacked because of his father and his authentic rise through the conservative movement.

#5, all you say may be true, but the issue is that the "People´s Choice Award" was overruled by those supporting Norquist and Khan. If these men are the paragons of virtue that you claim, then why interfere with the Award and not just allow open, honest debate between parties? Is that not one of the features of being a conservative?
And by the way, Colin Powell has claimed to be a Reagan Republican as well.

#5, Mr. Khan is not being attacked for the reasons you state. (and I´m not convinced the word "attacked" is accurate)
According to the website, he is closely linked with Islamic terrorism.
Most of us are becoming uncomfortably aware of the Islamic threat. Islam is incompatible with liberty. It makes no sense for Mr. Khan to claim conservatism. It sounds more like taqqyia to me.
Conservatives beware.

Yes, any religion that has as one of its major tenets an encouragement to lie to non believers in the furtherance of its spread is highly suspect and is not benign. The history of Islam tells us everything we need to know about it. It is a cancer on the planet and stands for the antithesis of the basic beliefs of Western Civilization.

Before America embarks on changing the concept of marriage, I hope they will at least agree on examining cultures that do not define marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O´Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O´Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, ´I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.´ You don´t win a policy debate in America with that." Really? Before central control out of Washington was imposed in 2003, policy arguments for criminalizing homosexual acts were won explicitly "with that." And because of "that," the idea of gay marriage has been unthinkable throughout the history of the American nation.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

Over at Salon, Chris Stedman, the Assistant Humanist Chaplain and the Values in Action Coordinator for the Humanist Community at Harvard, has published a vicious piece attacking me for calling attention to the persecution of gays under Islamic law. This comes just days after San Francisco´s Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution condemning my ads standing up for gays. During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." I suspect that was the intention. The president´s image as a manly man took a beating when he missed 20 of 22 basketball shots, all recorded on video.

The CEO of Starbucks basically told a shareholder that if the shareholder believes in traditional marriage he should dump his Starbucks stock. Historically the job of the CEO has been to make money and increase shareholder value. It would seem telling people who don´t share the CEO´s personal beliefs, whether it´s gay marriage or abortion, to dump the companies stock is not a pro-shareholder action. This is another example of the liberal belief that everything belongs to liberals because they´re just so darn much smarter than the rest of us

The Great State of Indiana is about to test statewide school choice on a meaningful scale. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass.
