We are really looking into the abyss for the first time in my lifetime. Who knew our technological achievements and retirement would come to this? With the whole 0bamaNation running on idle, both our domestic and foreign problems are reaching critical mass at the same time. The only thing transparent to our enemies are that 0bama is no more than a hack and lazy community organizer that´s going to get many of US killed. I believe that the recent securing of billions of bullets and the new tank-like vehicles by Homeland Security is in preparation of an undetermined attack on our soil that can´t be ignored, even by the dRATS.

Iran, North Korea, and the list goes on. We no longer have just an "Axis of Evil," but a "clear and present danger" in our White House.

I think it would be a good thing for NKorea to be come a smoldering hole in the ground if and when they fire off anything!

Why is it so hard for diplomats to say things in a simple way so the meaning is perfectly clear? Listen North Korea, South Korea is an ally of our country. Should you make the mistake of attacking South Korea the power of our country will be unleashed upon you with a suitable number of nucler weapons sufficient to render you totally harmless forever more. This is not a threat, it is a certainty because we are tired of yor foolish tirades and we will no longer put up with it. If you make a move we consider threatening we will take immediate action to render you neutralized with whatever force we deem necessary. If you think this means war, you are absolutely right, it will mean war and you will lose inside 24 hours with no quarter given and your opportunity to surrender completely and unconditionally may have passed. Now, what part of this do you not understand???

The news about NK just seems to get worse. Everything must be complete speculation.

IMO making this threat is a serious tactical mistake by NK. It provides China an excellent reason to break with NK.

(Don´t forget China is also a party to that Armistice. And I think they want it kept.)

But that may be wishful thinking or simply not matter. NK may be crazy enough to proceed w/o China. Tossing a nuke or so at us would trigger a such a mess that further speculation is folly.

The reason for this is that Obama´s stated policy in the event of nuclear attack is "absorb and assess" with FEMA ready to help all injured survivors.

2. If nothing else, our enemies study us, and especially study how to use our institutions [especially the moron-laced media] against us. Hey -- kinda like how the Dems "play" the Republicans. The Dems know the Rs will rarely fight, and never fight for long. So the Dems fight the Rs over the smallest thing, and just keep fighting. The Rs stupidly make the prophecy self-fulfilling: "We´ve been here again and again. They never quit. Give up. Give up. We can´t beat ´em." And guess why you can´t?

#6: Good post, fair speculations. But IMHO the Norks are far too useful as surrogates for Beijing for the Chinese to break with them. They might well pull on the leash, the Kim du jour might even "disappear," but Beijing likes having the Norks causing trouble for us while they stand safely aside, and say "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Play nice, please." And Beijing sees costs inflicted on the US for a pittance from their pockets.

As RR famously said at the height of the cold war - "the bombing will begin in 10 minutes"
