Dems And Press Cry Over
Sequester Cuts And The Poor

Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 3/5/2013 7:43:59 PM

Sequester: The press and Democratic lawmakers complain that the automatic cuts will hurt the poor, minorities and women most. So why were they silent about the president´s policies that caused these groups far more harm? Over the weekend, the New York Times ran a story headlined: "As Automatic Budget Cuts Go Into Effect, Poor May Be Hit Particularly Hard." It wasn´t exactly a model of unbiased reporting. While the story noted that the sequester spares "many programs that aid the poorest," it failed to explain that these programs represent the vast bulk of the money spent on the poor.

Obama and the Democrat Party love poor people, that´s why they create so many of them.

Bernanke´s actions along with his enabling of Obama has done much more to destroy the wealth of the poor and middle class than this sequester ever could. That´s why the Dems and the Press want to change the subject.

Remembering Margaret Thatcher

Margaret Thatcher, who served as prime minister of Britain from 1979 to 1990, is most famous for teaming up with my father Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II to peacefully end the Cold War and bring about the collapse of the Soviet Union. But at home, the “Iron Lady’s” intellect, political will and love of freedom and capitalism also saved Britain from its long, slow death by socialism. Prime Minister Thatcher freed up Britain’s economy by deregulating business, privatizing government-owned industries and breaking the back of the powerful unions that were smothering her country to death.

In the American Declaration of Independence, our Founding Fathers proclaimed that we are endowed by our Creator with the unalienable right to the pursuit of happiness. Unfortunately, we have long forgotten what our Founders meant by that now iconic phrase—“the pursuit of happiness”—and, as a consequence, we are now in jeopardy of losing the very liberty our Founders purchased for us at the risk of their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. Indeed, if we properly understood what our Founding Fathers meant by the phrase “pursuit of happiness,” a photographer in New Mexico, a pastry business owner in

Vice President Joe Biden this morning said that the “cultural norm” about gun ownership has changed, arguing that many people buy guns, not for protection or hunting, but because “it’s like driving a Ferrari.” “It used to be we were dealing almost exclusively with hunters,” Biden said on MSNBC. “There’s a whole new sort of group of individuals now who, I don’t know what the numbers are, that never hunt at all but they own guns for one of two reasons: self protection or they just like the feel of that AR-15 at the range.”

The Democrats want to do away with the Second Amendment, and if they can, they want to end up registering every gun and its owner in this country.

Instead, it appears under the heading "FIXES," a series that "looks at solutions to social problems and why they work." Actually, there´s no evidence that the "solution" works. President Obama has been struggling to push his agenda through Congress and boost his popularity, but now there is another bit of bad news for him to chew on: A poll indicates that Obama would lose an election to Ronald Reagan, the champion of conservatism, if such a choice were possible today. And it would be a landslide. Fifty-eight percent of Americans would choose Reagan, according to a survey conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. NORTH KOREA is a tiny dictatorship with a bankrupt economy, but its leaders are remarkably adept at manipulating global public opinion. In recent weeks, we have been exposed to yet another brilliant example of their skill. Scores of foreign journalists have been dispatched to Seoul to report on the growing tensions between the two Koreas and the possibility of war. Upon arrival, though, it is difficult for them to find any South Koreans who are panic-stricken. In fact, most people in Seoul don’t care about the North’s belligerent statements: the farther one is from the Korean Peninsula,

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.
