Suicide or sanity: Bush v. Rubio on immigration in a CPAC showdown

| While some focus on the freak show aspects of the coming Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) meeting — does anyone really care what Sarah Palin will say, and is anyone except joyous Democrats and suicidal Republicans not yet bored by what Ted Cruz says? — the real show will lie in the Bush v. Rubio battle over immigration. Former Florida Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, who is likely running for president, has fired an anti-immigration shot over the bow of current Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who is likely running for president, by opposing a path to citizenship on immigration.

However, this is the classic screed that will emanate from all talking points dRATS, and WE and our GOP picked representatives should be aware and not shy away from confrontation with these loons when possible. The best and only way to smack them is elect our conservative people and replace them in any positions of authority.

There won´t be a "showdown". There will be reasonable, honorable Republican conservatives (or in Dr. Carson´s case, Independents) giving varying views on different subjects. Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio know how to behave and their audiences will, too. I think Brent Budowsky (look him up) should attend, take notes, and learn.

Note to Repbulicans. In case you can´t tell, your way didn´t work in the last 2 election cycles. Please get that.
It is time to try something new, which is not represented by either Mr. Bush (can you honestly believe he won´t be demagogued for being a Bushand how is he electable, really?) or Mr. Rubio (path to citizenship as a reward for breaking the law)
Please make all of this silliness stop now. We all need a break.

One thing is for sure, if the Republicans go along with any sort of liberal Democrat amnesty with a so-called special path to citizenship for between 11-20 million illegal aliens they will be handing the liberal Democrats about 10 million new voters in the years ahead. To ensure that the liberal Democrats will grant those legalized aliens great access to the US social safety net benefits and services. Most illegal aliens are poor generally uneducated low wage earners. Once legalized and allowed to bring their large families into the USA, they are going to need access to as many social welfare programs as possible to survive. Unless the Republicans change their political philosophies and become more liberal then the liberal Democrats they are never going to get more then a very small percentage of those votes. After such an amnesty there is no reason for the current Hispanic voting population to change from their customary Liberal Democrat voting pattern to the Republicans in any numbers s why would you vote for what amounts to a Democrat lite party when you could get the real thing by continuing to vote fr the liberal Democrats. It´s simply fool´s gold to believe that such an amnesty will change many Hispanic votes away from the liberal Democrats and towards the Republicans.

They should be given a legalized work permit which would require them to be subject to all tax withholding. Any criminal convictions ,even of small matters, should result in immediate deportation and no further work permits. I like my oranges and veggies from California. Any of you-all going to volunteer to go to California and harvest them.?? American workers should receive first employement consideration before foreign workers are hired. Any employer hirng illegal workers should have a large monetary fine and possible jail time for repeat offenders.

#4, I think in order to pay some of the freight involved in running prisons in this country, inmates should be the ones harvesting the produce in this country. They could make some money to be put in an account for when they are released and also could help pay for some of the cost of housing them. That is an idea whose time should has come.

This country will never vote for another Bush. Jeb´s immigration talk has sounded more like treason. Nor will Rubio win since the Hispanics will go Dem. We saw this when McCain, with his extreme catering to them, failed to capture their vote.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday warned against any moves that would further destabilize the situation in Syria, speaking after talks with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. "In this crucial period it is especially important to avoid any moves that can shake the situation," Putin was quoted as saying by news agencies, days after Israeli forces launched air strikes against regime targets in Syria. Netanyahu had been expected to warn Putin against delivering advanced S-300 missiles to Syria which would severely complicate any future air attacks against the regime of Syrian

The report was published as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu took off to Russia to convince President Vladimir Putin not to sell advanced Russian missile launchers to Syria. According to the Al-Quds Al-Arabi report, 200 launchers for advanced anti-aircraft S-300 missiles are already in Syrian hands, and Syrian experts

Amman - The ´Friends of Syria´ nations backing President Bashar Assad´s opponents will meet next week in Jordan to discuss peace talks sponsored by the United States and Russia, Jordanian officials said on Tuesday. "The peace conference will be the focus of the meeting," one of the officials said, adding that the meeting would be held in the middle of next week, without specifying the date. A European official, who will attend the meeting and who asked not to be named, said the United States was trying to explore all peaceful options before acting more forcefully.

The Obama administration is neglecting the Middle East and allowing China and Russia to expand influence in the region due to a flawed foreign policy strategy that could have long-term detrimental impacts for American power, a former Obama administration official said Tuesday. Senators voted Tuesday to weaken current immigration law that requires biometric checks of all visitors to the U.S., arguing that it would be too expensive to follow through and could end up keeping illegal immigrants from getting citizenship. The 12-6 vote in the Judiciary Committee came as the panel began a second day of votes on the 867-page immigration bill, and it signaled that the bipartisan authors of the bill continue to hold firm against efforts to stiffen security measures in the bill. Some Republicans continued to try to poke at the bill, but 10 Democrats and two Republicans have joined together

Farmers must pay Monsanto each time they plant the company’s genetically modified soybeans, the Supreme Court ruled Monday, rejecting an Indiana farmer’s argument that his unorthodox techniques did not violate the company’s patent. Farmer Vernon Hugh Bowman asserted that because the company’s herbicide-resistent Roundup Ready soybeans replicate themselves, he was not violating the company’s patent by planting progeny seeds he bought elsewhere. But the justices unanimously rejected that claim, with Justice Elena Kagan writing there is no such “seeds-are-special” exception to the law.

WASHINGTON – The National Transportation Safety Board voted to recommend to states that they lower the blood-alcohol content that constitutes drunk driving. Currently, all 50 states have set a BAC level of .08, reflecting the percentage of alcohol, by volume, in the blood. If a driver is found to have a BAC level of .08 or above, he or she is subject to arrest and prosecution. The NTSB recommends dropping that to a BAC level of .05. (Snip) Most countries in Europe, including Russia, most of South America and Australia, have set BAC levels at .05 to constitute drunken driving.

To no one’s surprise, it is already evident that the Obama administration has been lying about the scope of the IRS’s harassment of conservative-leaning non-profits. The Washington Post has obtained documents that show the anti-conservative effort was directed from Washington, D.C., and was not a rogue operation out of the agency’s Cincinnati office, as the administration has claimed: Internal Revenue Service officials in Washington and at least two other offices were involved in the targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, making clear the effort reached well beyond the

As a metaphor for big government, it is hard to top the Justice Department’s seizing of journalists’ phone records from The Associated Press. Unless, of course, you think the best example is the Internal Revenue Service turning the screws on groups it viewed as conservative and, therefore, unworthy of fair treatment. Or maybe the winner is the sneaky spreading of ObamaCare’s tentacles, with insurance companies now predicting the law will drive up the cost of individual premiums by as much as 400 percent. There are no losers in this race to the bottom — except the American people. It is tempting

President Obama was asked about the metastasizing Benghazi scandal in a joint news conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday. Referring to the Americans who died in Benghazi, the president said, "We dishonor them when we turn things like this into a political circus." He added that "the whole issue of talking points, throughout this process, frankly, has been a sideshow.… There´s no there there." He´s half right. President Passerby needs urgently to become a participant in his presidency. Late Monday came the breathtaking news of a full-frontal assault on the First Amendment by his administration: word that the Justice Department had gone on a fishing expedition through months of phone records of Associated Press reporters. And yet President Obama reacted much as he did to the equally astonishing revelation on Friday that the IRS had targeted conservative groups based on their ideology: He responded as though he were just some bloke on a bar stool, getting his information from the evening news.

Attorney General Eric Holder has recused himself from the Associated Press leak investigation. He will officially announce his recusal at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Fox News is reporting his recusal comes partially because Holder has testified about potential national security leaks surrounding a May 7, 2012 Associated Press story. Yesterday, the Associated Press revealed the Department of Justice had been secretly monitoring both the personal and work phones of numerous AP editors and reporters. DOJ responded to these revelations by releasing the following

One Democrat who likes Obama and has been around town for many years said elected officials in his own party are no different than Republicans: they think the president is distant and unapproachable. “He has never taken the Democratic chairs up to Camp David to have a drink or to have a discussion,” the longtime Washingtonian said. “You gotta stroke people, and talk to them. It’s like courting: you have to send flowers and candy and have surprises. It’s a constant process. Now they’re saying, ‘He never talked to me in the good times.’ ”

All you need to do is look at the bottom line to see that Limbaugh is in trouble. Limbaugh once raked in the big bucks for his radio syndicator, Cumulus. But last week, Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey made it clear those days are over. Dickey reported that Cumulus had lost millions of dollars in ad sales because many advertisers no longer want to be associated with Limbaugh.
