He was specifically responding to the apparently surprising need to halt enrollments in a program designed as a temporary bridge for people with preexisting conditions who couldn´t wait until the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) fully kicks in next year.

The pre-existing thing is probably` the biggest back breaker in Obamacare.These people should be funneled through Medicaid,not mainstream insurance which will lead to skyrocketing premiums as they pay out for expensive surgeries.
It has to do with evaluating the risk pool and projecting future costs. This is totally unknown to people who set the rates,it´s pure guesswork because there´s no long term model to follow for costs projections.
Insurance companies balance sheets will become basketcases and they could be shocked to learn they have to raise rates 400% just to break even.
Even if Obama´s subsidies kick in,you´ll pay for them as a taxpayer.Your best chance to enjoy Obamacare is become a long term unemployed bum.For tips on how to do this just visit any big city(in daylight hours only)

I fear that all is proceeding as planned. Governments do not retreat, do not undo what they have already done. There is probably great joy in certain corners of Washington - can the Oval Office have a corner? - but I digress, the failure of the current version of Obamacare will result not in repeal, but in a doubling down. The lefts answer to failure will be to nationalize health care. The Left will cry that the failure is because they did not go far enough. That is what they wanted originally and that is what there goal is now. Be afraid people, be very, very afraid.

FTA: Although it´s true that we collectively spent a lot of time shouting about Obamacare, we spent precious little time actually debating it.
Just when did we have any time to debate it? It was rushed through congress with no debate by the democrats. Remember Nancy Pelosi saying we will have to pass the bill to find out what´s in it? There was no chance for debate on a 2000 page bill. Remember Zero´s promise to give everyone a chance to read a bill before sending it to congress? Never happened. So I don´t see where we had any time at all to debate this, Jonah!

Call me gullible but I think Robert´s declaring the madate to be a tax is a poison pill. A tax must be originated in the House and a number must be set and approved. Obamacare originated in the Senate. Large portions of it were not filled in, instead it says: to be filled in (or written) by the Secretary (Sibellius who is writing as fast as she can). Some of what she writes are taxes. How can it be constitutional for her to fill in tax numbers? They were not originated in the House, not discussed, not revealed, and not in Obamacare at the time it was passed.

Obamacare was designed by the progressive Democrats to just be an interim health care system, to destroy most of the current healthcare insurance industry, and then to be flipped into a completely government run "equal and fair" national healthcare system for all Americans who cannot afford to purchase their own health care.
Of course there will always be a first class private health care program limited to the rich and famous who have the wherewithal to purchase their own health care.

J. David Kuo, an evangelical Christian conservative and former top official of President George W. Bush’s faith-based initiative who drew wide attention when he publicly accused the administration of failing to live up to the values it espoused, died April 5 in Charlotte. He was 44.He was diagnosed a decade ago with brain cancer, his wife, Kimberly, said. The arc of Mr. Kuo’s life and career had taken him from liberal to conservative, from hard-edged Republican activism in the 1990s to disillusionment with the idea that politics could serve as an extension of his faith.

Like most of you, I yearn for shorter winters, more shirt-sleeve weather, less lashing from frigid winds. As a confirmed New Yorker, I’m not willing to do what millions have done: move to the sunbelt. I want warmer weather here in the Big City.But I’ve grown old waiting for the promised global warming. I was 35 when predictions of a looming ice age were supplanted by warmmongering. Now I’m 68, and there’s still no sign of warmer weather. It’s enough to make one doubt the “settled science” of the government-funded doom-sayers.

In a measure of solidarity with those affected by the budget-slashing government sequestration, President Obama is giving up 5 percent of his salary for rest of the year, which is almost as admirable and sensible as a mansion-owner shutting off his marble fountains during a drought.This is not to imply that the president shouldn´t demonstrate some unity with those who´ve been furloughed or lost work because of the blind slashing the sequestration prompted. MTV’s “Buckwild” has its first cast death. Shain Gandee was among three men found dead in a vehicle Monday in the Sissonville area of West Virginia — about 31 hours after he and his uncle, David, had been reported missing. David, 48, and Shain, 21, told people they were going four-wheeling in Shain’s 1984 Ford Bronco, at about 3 a.m. Sunday at Larry’s Bar in Sissonville, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday morning. The third man found dead in the vehicle who has not yet been identified, according to press reports.
