Meyers, FL - A Cypress Lake High School teen who had a gun pointed at him last week says he would be dead if not for the quick action of another student, who was suspended despite disarming the gunman and being called a hero. The victim, who Fox 4 is not identifying, spoke out after the school suspended the teen who wrestled the .22 caliber RG-14 revolver out of the hands of the 15-year-old gun wielding suspect on a school bus last Tuesday. Not sure after reading this why kid was suspended, or didn´t cooperate with police, but the fact that another had and pointed a gun at a student should warrant some explanation for school´s suspension action. Very odd story.

FERPA loses all purpose when a student commits an adult act like pointing a gun at the head of another students and threatens to kill him. This stinks and deserves the disinfecting light of public exposure in courts and in the media.

I´m thinking there´s more to this story than the typical bullying or mental illness angle. I wouldn´t be surprised if drugs or drug debts and gang activity were involved. A red flag is the fact that the hero didn´t want to tell the truth to administrators for fear of "snitching".

I have worked at a high school as a high school counselor. I can tell you with authority that all students are afraid of being labeled as a snitch. They do not have to be involved with drugs or anything else to be afraid. A good kid witnessing a violent event often will not tell out of fear. I think the young man deserves credit for doing what many adults would be afraid to do. School districts often make mistakes and then rather than admit them they double down and dig in. They are arrogant and are looking out for their interests period. They have no interest in justice or what is fair.

Clearly the progressive plan is to indoctrinate public schools students through fear and intimidation that all things related to firearms are bad and will cause students serious negative consequences. We must take back our schools.

My son advised his daughters to stand up to bullies. He got into an argument with a school administrator who insisted that no matter who was at fault if there was an altercation both students would be punished. He solved one daughter´s problem by waiting in the parking lot until the father of an offender showed up, went to his car and threatened him unless he made his kid back off. This solution is not possible for everyone. The schools don´t help.

New Orleans - Louisiana lawmakers on Tuesday questioned the wisdom of eliminating the state´s income tax without raising sales taxes, one day after Governor Bobby Jindal said he would delay his plan to scrap the income tax. Bahrain on Tuesday became the first Arab country to blacklist Hizbullah as a terrorist organization, the Al Arabiya network reports. The move came a week after the Bahraini parliament voted to label the group a terrorist organization. Its alleged backing and training of radical Shiite groups against Bahrain was the main reason given for the decision, the report said. The biggest border crossing between North Korea and China has been closed to tourist groups, a Chinese official says, as nuclear tensions mounted, but business travel was allowed to continue.
